Underground Sound - Lucha Underground recap for August 30, 2017

Dario Cueto talks to his brother, Matanza Cueto. He says he was wrong, and that he thought he knew best but did not. He kept him locked away because he thought he was obsessed with Rey Mysterio Jr., but now he understands that Matanza wanted to protect him, and thanks to him, he did not get hurt. He talks about how Rey gave him a 619 and humiliated him, and says that Rey must pay. He tells him to be patient for two more weeks, for it is then that he will get Rey one-on-one. When that happens, Dario wants Matanza to destroy him. Matanza grabs the bars and shakes them in a fit of rage.

It is announced that Ultima Lucha Tres will be four nights long, and that Johnny Mundo will defend the Lucha Underground Championship against Prince Puma.

Son of Madness beats Mascarita Sagrada, then Son of Havoc attacks him after the match. Dario Cueto calls out security to separate both men while Paul London helps Mascarita Sagrada to the back. Cueto then makes a match between Havoc and Madness for one of the seven Aztec Medallions, and since they are both motorcycle gang members, it will be a Boyle Heights Biker Brawl.

Marty "The Moth" Martinez not only beats absolutely decimates Argenis - who is in his first match to the point that he busts him open and removes his mask after ripping it open from the front. Argenis has to cover his head with a towel as he is tended to by a trainer. Mariposa then takes the microphone from ring announcer Melissa Santos, whom asks Melissa if he liked what she just saw before saying he wants to rip Fenix's mask off at Ultima Lucha Tres and show the world how ugly Fenix really is. Fenix then shows up from behind and drop kicks Marty before superkicking Mariposa. Melissa says that she doesn't think Marty can't take Fenix's mask, and Fenix ups the stakes by demanding it be a Mask vs. Hair Match.

Joey Ryan beats Sexy Star. During the match, Taya shows up with a sign saying "Go Sexy Star!" in an attempt to distract Sexy Star. It works, but not as expected: Sexy Star superkicks her before putting the sign through her head. When she gets back in the ring, Joey Ryan superkicks her for the win. After the match, Cortez Castro attacks Joey Ryan from behind with a Kendo stick, and Joey Ryan eventually runs to the back.

Dario Cueto is in his office when Cortez Castro shows up. Cueto says that Castro has impressed him, and knows he is here because he is a cop. Castro wants to arrest him for what he did for Mr. Cisco. Cueto threatens to hit him with the red ceramic bull on his desk, but stops himself halfway. Cueto says he loved what he did to Joey Ryan, whom he knows is also a cop. He books him for a "5-0 Street Fight" against Joey Ryan next week. Cortez Castro says that he does not work for him, and Cueto agrees, but he knows Castro likes to fight and that he hates Joey Ryan, and he cannot fake that. Castro says he will see him next week, then breaks the Kendo stick over his knee and leaves.

Son of Havoc beats Son of Madness in a Boyle Heights Biker Brawl to earn one of the seven Aztec Medallions and take his colors back.

As Dario Cueto sets up the brackets for the Cueto Cup in his office, Pentagon Dark shows up. He is all healed up, and wants to know where Black Lotus. Cueto says she has went back to Hong Kong and he hasn't seen her in months. Pentagon Dark says he might as well break Cueto's arm next. Cueto says that would not be wise, but Pentagon Dark tries to break it anyway. Cueto saves himself by telling Pentagon Dark he is putting him in the Cueto Cup where the winner gets a shot at the Lucha Underground Championship. Pentagon Dark says he will win the tournament and go on to Ultima Lucha Tres to become champion. If he loses at Ultima Lucha, however, Cueto will be leaving with broken bones.

The Mack beats Mala Suerte to continue to the second round of the Cueto Cup.

In the locker room, Cage is lifting weights with the new glove Dario Cueto gave him in his right hand. Cueto shows up, saying he is enjoying the fruits of his labor. He says that a high-ranking politician and city councilman, Lawrence Delgado, has invited him to his office later tonight, and Cueto asks that he be acquainted with him as he gives him his address, telling him that Delgado is expecting him.

Before the next match, Famous B kicks ring announcer Melissa Santos out of the ring, and says he has a stable and all he needs is a thoroughbred. He tells Texano that instead of fighting him, he wants to represent him, and that all he has to do is pin him. Famous B lays down for him, but Texano lets go of the pinfall and hits him with a sit-out powerbomb to win. Texano beats Famous B to continue to the second round of the Cueto Cup.

We see a video package of Rey Mysterio Jr. and Johnny Mundo training for their upcoming Lucha Underground Championship match.

Drago beats Argenis to continue to the second round of the Cueto Cup. After the match, Kobra Moon commands Drago to kill Argenis, and Drago lays Argenis out in the middle of the ring before Kobra Moon chains Drago up again.

Cage meets with city councilman Lawrence Delgado at the address provided to him by Dario Cueto, his right hand still in the gauntlet as he enters Boyle Heights City Hall. Delgado says that if Cage cannot remove the gauntlet, then that means the gauntlet is working and that their work will finally begin. Cage does not like the thought of working for a city councilman, and tells Delgado he does not work for him. Delgado says he will, and that the days of working out and drinking protein shakes will be in the past as his life will finally have purpose. Cage grabs Delgado with the gloved hand, forces him up against a wall, then lets him go and says "Sorry, man...I don't know what came over me." We see that the wall behind Delgado now has a hole in it, and Delgado tells him "That's okay...you're still thinking like a man." Cage then punches Delgado in the face so hard that his entire head explodes. Cage then says he is not a man...he is a machine. Cage then stomps on one of Delgado's eyes, now forcibly removed from the man's skull and now on the floor, as he leaves.
