Final Impact - GFW Impact Wrestling for October 5, 2017

In Memoriam of Lance Russell, 1926 - 2017. Pray For Vegas.

Eli Drake and Chris Adonis show up to start tonight's show. Eli Drake says it's a celebration tonight, for last week, he got in his car, drove down Victory Road, and made it to Slamtown. He then turned it into a parking lot, built his palace on it and built Eli's Cakes. He says that Johnny Impact will not be here tonight, as he is finding another place to get a check and hone his craft. He says he will never come back, as Johnny begged for mercy as he took him on the Gravy Train. Eli Drake goes on to say the Global title is going nowhere, as Jim Cornette has done all he can to take it from him and failed. He says that Cornette is sending him to Japan to find someone who will take the title off of him, but his reign isn't ending. He says that anybody who takes him on doesn't have what it takes to do so. Eli Drake then says he has the night off, so tonight is a celebration. He asks all the attractive women to meet him at the Doubletree. In the meantime, he has set Chris Adonis up with a match tonight, saying he will run over his competition like he does everywhere else. That match is against Garza Jr. Eli Drake then guests on commentary for the match.

Chris Adonis beats Garza Jr. by disqualification. During the match, it is revealed that Johnny Impact is backstage in the building. Eli Drake leaves for backstage as Adonis goes for an Adonis Lock on Garza Jr., which Garza Jr. escapes from. Johnny Impact makes it to the ring and beats up Adonis, and swings at Garza Jr. when he tries to pick Johnny up. Referees and security run into the ring in an attempt to restore order, then Jim Cornette shows up and says that if Johnny Impact and Garza Jr. want to fight each other, then they should at least wait until they are getting paid to do it. He puts them in a match for next week, then tells Eli Drake that there will be no free ride for him this time as the winner of that match will face him for the GFW Global Championship at Bound For Glory. He then says he does not know how long Eli Drake plans to hold on to the Global title, but the countdown clock to Bound For Glory is ticking. Afterwards, Johnny Impact and Garza Jr. start fighting each other again as referees and security try to quell the second wave of aggression.

Sienna then says she knows what GFW is planning and that she is flattered, and that she is being inducted into the GFW Hall of Fame. Sienna says she will have to retire as champion at this point - something Gail Kim has yet to do. Suddenly, Gail Kim shows up. Gail Kim says she has fought long and hard for the Knockouts Division, and says Sienna would not have beat her without Taryn Terrell. Gail Kim wants a rematch for the GFW Knockouts Championship at Bound For Glory. Suddenly, Taryn shows up. Taryn says it's time for a history lesson. She says she is the longest reigning Knockouts Champion ever - longer than either Sienna or Gail Kim. Taryn says Gail Kim should be worrying about beating her. Suddenly, Allie shows up. Allie says Sienna may be Knockouts Champion and Taryn may be the longest-reigning champion ever, and Gail Kim is a Hall of Famer, but she is Allie. She has worked hard, and wants a title shot, too. Cueto says he did not like Delgado anyway. Winter says he hopes Cueto likes him, as he will keep an eye on him and the temple, and says he loves what Cueto is doing with the temple. Cage does not like the thought of working for a city councilman, and tells Delgado he does not work for him. Delgado says he will, and that the days of working out and drinking protein shakes will be in the past as his life will finally have purpose. Cage grabs Delgado with the gloved hand, forces him up against a wall, then lets him go and says "Sorry, man...I don't know what came over me." We see that the wall behind Delgado now has a hole in it, and Delgado tells him "That's okay...you're still thinking like a man." Suddenly, Johnny Mundo shows up, irritated that Prince Puma has a title shot despite having a losing streak. Mundo demands a real, tangible title shot, and is able to get a shot at the Gift of the Gods title shot...for Jack Evans, due to him pinning Sexy Star in the Atomicos match last week. Underground Sound - Lucha Underground recap for September 21, 2016

Rey Mysterio Jr. and El Dragon Azteca Jr are training. Azteca wants to destroy Pentagon Dark, but Rey tells him that Pentagon has many enemies and to let them destroy him as they have their own fight...one more dangerous than him. Suddenly, Chavo Guerrero Jr. shows up, and El Dragon Azteca goes after him. Rey tells Chavo to let him go, and after he does, he tells Rey he's never told Azteca about "La Familia Guerrero," and that it looks he may have to be the one to teach him.

Dario Cueto is in the temple to spin Dario's Dial of Doom and see who gets a shot at the Lucha Underground Championship against his brother Matanza Cueto. After making fun of Son of Havoc by saying nobody believed he could beat Matanza, he spins the wheel. Tonight, it is The Mack's turn.

Matanza Cueto retains the Lucha Underground Championship against The Mack.

Somewhere on the open road, Son of Havoc is watching Famous B's commercials, and says he can't stand Famous B. Neither can Mascarita Sagrada, who is watching them with Son of Havoc at Havoc's house. Havoc's mom has also made some Bagel Bites.

Johnny Mundo shows up in Dario Cueto's office, demanding a shot at the Lucha Underground Championship. Cueto tells him he has a Trios title shot tonight, but Mundo doesn't care and says he's not competing tonight and is heading to the dojo. He tells Cueto to think long and hard about how he's treating him. Taya, who is with Mundo up until this point, eagerly steps in as Mundo's replacement, much to Cueto's delight.

Before the next match, Dario Cueto shows up and says Cage and Texano have a lot in common, including losing out on unique opportunities. He announces this match will be not for a unique opportunity, but for "the ultimate opportunity," and only the winner will find out what this is.

Cage beats Texano. After the match, Dario Cueto then tells him that if he wants the ultimate opportunity, he must beat Texano two more times as this was only the first match in a Best of Five Series. With this victory, Cage leads 1-0.

Dario Cueto opens a box and gets a 423-GET-FAME hat inside. He also opens an envelope, which contains some pretty gruesome pictures. He is looking through them when El Dragon Azteca Jr., and Cueto throws them in the trash. Azteca wants a match with Pentagon, but Cueto says he can't just make a match whenever he wants. He likes the idea, though, and pencils it in after he tells Azteca he has the match. Ricky Mandel, whom we haven't seen in some time shows up and asks when his next match is, and he notices that the pictures are on the desk. Cueto hands him the pictures to Mandel to get them out of his hair Chavo Guerrero Jr. then shows up, and after Ricky Mandel tells him that now is not a good time, Chavo tells Cueto that they need to talk.

The Super Friends (Fenix, Aerostar and Drago) retain the Lucha Underground Trios Championships against The Worldwide Underground (Jack Evans, "The Darewolf" PJ Black, Taya). Johnny Mundo shows after the match, and he, PJ Black and Taya attack the champs after the match. Sexy Star shows up and clears the ring, but not before getting a shot in on Taya.

Dario Cueto talks to Rey Mysterio Jr. about next week. He tells Rey that Azteca came to him demanding a match against Pentagon Dark, and that he has pencilled it in. Dario agrees with Rey that he's not ready, and that Azteca will be facing Chavo Guerrero next week, with the winner facing Pentagon. Cueto also tells Rey what happened to his tribe, and makes Rey Mysterio Jr. the guest referee for the match, going so far as to put it in ink instead of in pencil.

Ultima Lucha Dos - Week 1 Results

Before the first match, Dario Cueto shows up and says The Mack and Cage started off the first Ultima Lucha off with a bang with their Falls Count Anywhere, and admits that it was his favorite match of the first night. To ensure that this match is just as good and just as violent, he makes this match Falls Count Anywhere just like last year.

The Mack beats Cage in a Falls Count Anywhere match (that is a semi-final match for a unique opportunity from Dario Cueto) after Cage slips on beer spilled by The Mack and misses the curb stomp onto the cinderblock, allowing The Mack to reverse Cage's mistake into a pinfall.

There is a bar near the ring for the next match between Texano and Son of Havoc. Since there is a cowboy (Texano) and a biker (Son of Havoc) in the ring, and it makes Dario Cueto think of a bar fight, Dario Cueto makes this match a Boyle Heights Bar Fight.

Son of Havoc beats Texano in a Boyle Heights Bar Fight (that is a semi-final match for a unique opportunity from Dario Cueto) after sending Texano into wine bottle shards.

Before the next match, Dario Cueto says he is impressed with The Mack and Son of Havoc, and says his unique opportunity is so great he wants both of them to work for it. Therefore, this match is also Falls Count Anywhere.

Son of Havoc beats The Mack in a Falls Count Anywhere match (that is the finals for a unique opportunity from Dario Cueto). Dario Cueto then comes out of his office with two briefcases.

Dario Cueto gives Son of Havoc a choice between two briefcases. One contains more money than he'll ever see in his career...$250,000 to be exact. However, there is a twist: he can also pick the other briefcase, which puts him in the main event for the Lucha Underground Championship at Ultima Lucha Tres. Son of Havoc takes the contract without hesitation. Dario then tells him that he has to win one more match to get the match, and that he will offer the money to the person he has to face to get that match. Dario then takes both suitcases and walks off. Famous B shows up, and tells us he's got a brand new client. Unlike Mascarita Sagrada, this new client is already famous. He asks if Son of Havoc is sick to his stomach, then tells him there's a doctor in the house. Son of Havoc's opponent is none other than Dr. Wagner, Jr.

Dr. Wagner, Jr. beats Son of Havoc by dodging Son of Havoc's Shooting Star Press and hitting the Doctor Driver. As a result, Son of Havoc is not in the main event title match at Ultima Lucha Tres and Dr. Wagner, Jr. wins $250,000.

Daga's debut match will be against Texano for one of the seven Aztec Medallions.

Texano beats Daga to win one of the seven Aztec Medallions.

Mil Muertes is meditating when he finds out that The Disciples of Death (Barrio Negro, El Siniestro de la Muerte and Terce) are in the Trios Tag Tournament from Catrina, and that The Disciples beg for his forgiveness. Catrina says they will not fail again, and that they will be one step closer to the Trios titles, while Mil Muertes will be the new Lucha Underground Champion. She says that Matanza Cueto will be the most powerful opponent he will meet thus far, and is probably more powerful than the earthquake that made him.

Rey Mysterio Jr., Prince Puma and El Dragon Azteca Jr. beat Johnny Mundo, Taya and Cage to continue to the next round of the Trios Tag Tournament.

Dario Cueto talks to Matanza Cueto in his cage. He says Mil Muertes will not be so easy to break, but it can be done. We learn that Matanza is in the cage because it has taken years for him to realize his destiny, and that Cueto considers him the most valuable thing in the world to him, and that nobody understands and appreciates his destruction like he does.
