Underground Sound - Lucha Underground recap for September 20, 2017

We see footage of ring announcer Melissa Santos train with Fenix, and Melissa Santos has learned a few moves. As they train, Melissa tries to get a look at Fenix without his mask, but Fenix denies her that, saying his mask is everything to him and that before he wore it, he was nobody, until he put it on, become the Fenix and rose from the ashes of his past life. Melissa says that mask or no mask, he is still Fenix to her. Fenix does not believe that, and says if the mask if taken from him, he will lsoe everything, but Melissa tells Fenix he won't lose her. Melissa then kisses Fenix.

Famous B is the special guest ring announcer, while Brenda is the special guest timekeeper. He says that Texano should be his part of his agency after he saved him from a broken arm, and that he should be his client. Dante Fox attacks Texano from behind as Texano confronts Famous B, starting the next match early.

Dante Fox beats Texano. Killshot is seen watching Dante Fox from the top of Dario Cueto's office during the match. Later on in the match, Famous B declares Texano the match. This distracts Texano, and Dante Fox beats Texano with a schoolboy pin. After the match, Texano grabs Famous B from behind, but Dario Cueto tells Texano not to hurt him as he needs a ring announcer. However, he will get a match with Famous B next week. Famous B asks Dario Cueto if he is crazy, as he still has a broken arm. Dario Cueto says that might as well make the match "a handicap match." If Famous B can somehow beat Texano, he will turn Texano's Lucha Underground contract over to Famous B, making Texano his client.

Son of Havoc meets with Dario Cueto in his office, and says he wants to put himself in the main event title match at Ultima Lucha Tres. As he leaves, he encounters Pentagon Dark, and Dario tells both men to save it for later as Son of Havoc leaves and Pentagon Dark places his ancient Aztec medallion on the Gift of the Gods Championship. Pentagon Dark shows up and says he will win The Gift of the Gods, and that he will break the arms of everyone who enters the ring. Dario Cueto picks up the phone, dials a number and says he needs some medics on stand-by for the main event.

Marty "The Moth" Martinez and Mariposa beat Fenix and Melissa Santos after Mariposa ties Fenix to the ring post and Marty and Mariposa takes advantage of her feelings for Fenix. After the match, Fenix frees himself from the rope as Martinez and Mariposa get their hands on Melissa, and Martinez and Mariposa get out of the ring as Fenix checks on her.

It is announced that El Dragon Azteca Jr. will face Matanza Cueto in a steel cage at Ultima Lucha Tres, and that Ivelissa will also face Catrina at the event. Also at Ultima Lucha Tres Sexy Star will face Taya in a Last Luchadora Standing Match, and Killshot will face Dante Fox in a Hell Of War Match.

Son of Havoc and Pentagon Dark beat Paul London, Mala Suerte, Saltador, Cortez Castro and Drago at the same time to win the Lucha Underground Championship...almost. During the match, Pentagon Dark hits Saltador, then Paul London, with package piledrivers, and pins London at the same time that Son of Havoc hits a top rope shooting star press on Saltador. Referee Marty Elias counts both pinfalls at the same time. After the match, Dario Cueto says they have both earned a victory, but only one can be Gift of the Gods Champion and neither man has a match at Ultima Lucha, he makes a Ladder Match between the two for the title.

Dario Cueto gets in a limousine and talks to a man in the back seat. Dario says he has retrieved the gauntlet, but is convinced that Cage really is a machine despite the changes in his behavior caused by the gauntlet. In case Cage is not the man for the job, he has an idea. He says that Jeremiah Crane and Mil Muertes are worthy substitute hosts, and proposes that at Ultima Lucha Tres, there will be a three-way match where the winner gets the gauntlet. If Cage wins, he will get the gauntlet back. Suddenly, someone shows up, and Dario Cueto invites this person to the temple before calling this person "my lord."
