Honor Roll - Ring of Honor recap for September 23, 2017

At the start of the show, the lights go out, then come back on. When they come back on, a woman dressed as an angel opens a present, and out comes "God's Gift" Q.T. Marshall.

Josh "The Goods" Woods beats "God's Gift" QT Marshall with a Triangle Hold converted into an ankle lock.

It's time for Caprice Coleman's Pulpit. This week's guests are The Briscoes (Jay and Mark Briscoes). Mark comes out wearing a green tie over his T-shirt, while Jay is nowhere to be seen, with Mark saying Jay is not in a good place. After Mark mentions that Jay has knocked his teeth in the past, he says that Jay is in a dark place as of late and not necessarily doing well or stable. When Caprice Coleman implies that Mark has all of his championship reigns in Ring of Honor because of his brother, Mark takes his tie off. Caprice Coleman also implies that Bully Ray is overshadowing The Briscoes, and Mark says that this is not the case and that there is no strain in the relationship between him and Jay. Concerning the future of The Briscoes, Mark says they aren't going anywhere, but Jay could use an attitude adjustment. He says things are changing and he has to put things in perspective, though it will take him a little bit of time. Nevertheless, they aren't going anywhere.

"The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes guests on commentary for the next match.

"The Heavy Metal Rebel" Frankie Kazarian wins the Honor Rumble, last eliminating Jay Lethal, and earns a shot at the ROH World Championship next week. During the match, Sal Rinauro makes a surprise appearance only to become the first four people eliminated by Shane Taylor. Cody Rhodes then briefly leaves the commentary table to hand Shane a wad of cash. Later on in the match, the last man to enter is WCW alumnus Glacier, who ends up being eliminated by Bully Ray. When Jay Lethal and "The Heavy Metal Rebel" Frankie Kazarian are the only two competitors left, "The Almighty" Christopher Daniels distracts referee Todd Sinclair to keep him from seeing Lethal toss Kazarian over the top rope. Lethal sends Daniels into the ring and hits him with the Lethal Injection, but Kazarian ends up tossing Lethal over the top rope. After the match, Daniels calls the crowd "ungrateful garbage" and "spoiled, entitled pieces of trash." He says that after everything he and Kazarian did for wrestling, they turned their backs on them and embraced "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes. Daniels says the fans can chant Cody's name all they want, because next week, Kazarian will kick Cody's ass, win the ROH World Championship and keep it away from "assbags like you."
