Brie and Bryan head to the hospital and try to see how long it takes to get there before Brie and Bryan see the ultrasound of the baby. Brie tries to ask questions, but Bryan has quite a few.
J.J. comes to Nikki's villa in Phoenix to take some time away from Lauren. He is keeping his family out of the loop because he feels mom Kathy and Brie will tell Laurel what is going on, and jokes that Laurel will probably put it on Instagram. Nikki sets some ground rules: there will be a curfew, no drinking every night, and J.J. has to see a therapist as she and John Cena have done it. She does not let J.J. talk to him because John Cena is busy and that the last thing he needs is venting. In reality, she wants people to talk to John about good things about getting married so he can want to get married again. J.J. gets back at Nikki by tricking her into thinking there is a scorpion nearby.
Brie and J.J. are decorating the baby's room in Brie's house when Bryan shows up with a baby doll and cloth diapers, so Brie can practice changing the diaper on the baby. Brie is skeptical about Bryan's insistence on cloth diapers, as Bryan says that history will look back on this generation as "the laziest generation" and J.J. and Brie know full well that the cloth diapers will definitely be stained as time goes on and that the diapers will be washed frequently. Meanwhile, Winston and Josie have a brief bulldog brawl.
J.J. brings some food to the dining room. She takes a call from John Cena, then Kathy calls, wanting to see the villa. Nikki, not wanting her mom to know J.J. is here, FaceTimes the villa to her. Kathy notices somebody walking by on Nikki's end, but Nikki shrugs it off, saying she's the only one here. After the phone call, Nikki chews out J.J. - who is in nothing more than a towel - and says that their mom probably thinks she's having an affair with a member of the camera crew, and tells Nikki to blame it on Richard, who is the guy holding the boom mic in this scene.
Bryan takes Brie to a landfill to show her what diapers due to the environment. Aside from diapers and plastic bags (the latter of which is very prevalent), Brie finds a banana with a condom wrapped around it. Brie admits she is not as crazy about the environment as Brie, but does care about the planet and wants Bryan to let her enjoy her pregnancy.
John Cena and J.J. have a meal at a restaurant. After a brief conversation on whether the bill of a hat should be bent or not, J.J. mentions his marital problems with Lauren to John. John says he is an open book and says he is available to him for any weird problems he may have. John says that he didn't see signs that his marriage was about to fail, as they were two different people and a lot of it was his fault. He also says that he was not really ready to be married yet. J.J. says he still loves Lauren, but wishes that they would miss each otehr as Lauren posts about stuff every so often. John Cena tells J.J. his life has changed in two years, and that in marriage, one has to accomodate the other person. John then admits that he loves Nikki more and more everyday, and that she completely changed his mind on a lot of things, especially marriage, and just because he was not ready for it the first time does not mean he shouldn't be open to it again. He says that Nikki makes him a better man everyday.
J.J. and John Cena return to the villa. When John is a bit evasive about what they were doing, Nikki believes that J.J. talked to John despite her telling J.J. not to do that.
Nikki visits Brie, who tells Nikki about her and Bryan's trip to the landfill. She then tells Nikki that their mom Kathy called, and that Kathy thinks Nikki is cheating on John Cena with some guy in a towel. When Brie asks what is going on, Nikki says she can't tell her at first, then mentions to Brie that J.J. and Lauren are separated. They then talk about their vacation in Tahoe, and says that there will snow this year. As Brie and Nikki look at maternity snow clothes, Josie nearly falls off the table.
Backstage at SmackDown Live, Nikki talks to John Cena about J.J. talking to him. John says that he can handle other people's problems, and says that maybe J.J. needs someone talk to. He says he deals with so much everyday that other people's problems do not affect him. Cena tells Nikki that he sees a long future ahead with her.
Brie, Bryan, J.J. and Kathy head to Lake Tahoe in California. Laurel is not here due to getting over being sick, and says that it is nice to take a break and have each other miss them for a while. Nikki is not happy with being the only person who has to keep J.J. and Lauren's marital problems a secret, and Brie isn't too happy about the kind of break J.J. has in mind.
Brie, Bryan, J.J. and Kathy check out where they will be staying. Lauren FaceTimes J.J., then Nikki asks J.J. to take the next few days in and go to therapy alongside Lauren, as it improved her and John Cena's relationship for the better. Nikki then tells J.J. about the FaceTime situation with him in a towel that caused Kathy to believe that she is cheating on John with another man. J.J. and Nikki have a laugh.
Brie, Nikki, Kathy and J.J. have dinner. They have a discussion on how a man can feel labor pains, and find out how: an electronic simulator that lets men do just that. Bryan calls Brie, and proposes that he and Brie name their daughter Branch. Nikki jokes that Brie will consider it if they take him up on the labor pain simulator that they were just talking about. To the surprise of absolutely nobody at the table, Bryan says that he looks forward to doing just that.
Brie, Nikki and Kathy have green tea and sushi together. Kathy says something is up because Lauren is not here, and says she brought up the whole "Nikki cheating on John Cena" thing to get Nikki to confess to what is really going on. Nikki spills the beans and says that J.J. and Lauren are having marital problems and is staying at his villa because he does not want Nikki or Kathy to know what is going on. Kathy says this feels sad for Lauren, and Brie feels mad simply because she is pregnant right now and cannot imagine Bryan doing such a thing to her. Kathy says that they will talk to J.J. after he is done snowboarding.
Brie, Nikki and Kathy talk to J.J., who says that he didn't need their help to deal with his problems with Lauren and that their conversation is exactly why he did not come to them. J.J. says she and Lauren are not going to marry, and that spending time apart is all they need to do as he insists that he doesn't need to explain anything to them. Kathy is under the impression that he is getting away from Lauren because of their child, and questions whether J.J. will be a good dad. Brie says J.J. can do whatever he wants, but asks him not to give up on marriage too quickly as he will live to regret it for the rest of his life. Nikki wants J.J. to go to therapy more than ever now, especially after what happened when their parents divorced, not just for Lauren but also for himself. She tells J.J. that everyone will feel better if he feels better. J.J. says he will think about it.
Two days later, and John Cena and Nikki's villa, the family gets together. J.J., Lauren and Vivian are seen together again. Bryan and J.J. go through the electronic pregnancy simulator, with J.J. doing it in an attempt to be a better husband and person after being inspired by Bryan's willingness to go through this. Brie thinks Bryan feels like he is the one pregnant, and that after he goes through with the labor pain simulator, he would not want to switch places with her. It backfires when Bryan takes it very, very well as if he has a high tolerance for pain.
Bonus clip: Brie's family is worried that she is not getting enough protein during her pregnancy.
