Generation NXT - NXT recap for September 20, 2017

In Memory of Bobby "The Brain" Heenan, 1944-2017.

Johnny Gargano beats Tino Sabbatelli with the Crossface.

General Manager William Regal talks with Roderick Strong, who says he has done what has been asked of him and wants a match with Roderick Strong. Roderick Strong officially gets his title shot in two weeks.

We hear from Sonya Deville, who says she and Asuka have never been in the same ring because she would be champion if they did. Now that Asuka's gone, the Women's title is as good as hers. If anybody has a problem, they can put their hair up and square up.

Bianca Belair beats Lacey Evans.

Aleister Black shows up. He says that fifteen years ago, he started a journey that led him to NXT. In those fifteen years, he traveled the world and saw and experienced a lot, and pull all those experience on his skin as scars. He says he didn't want to forget the devil on his back. His journey in NXT is far from done, and he knows what he must do. Suddenly, The Velveteen Dream shows up. The Velveteen Dream says that everything that fades to black must come to the light. He says Aleister walked the darkness only to be blinded by the light that is The Velveteen Dream, and and all the light, he does not see it, and asks where his scars are. He sees not scars, but a man who is hurt and is in pain, as it is scribbled on his skin like lies. He says that his biggest problem is not feeling, but fear, and says Aleister looks afraid to him. He says Aleister is afraid to show emotion and afraid of the light, and no matter what he tells anyone, he has a heart. After Velveteen Dream says his heart is in the wrong place, Aleister kicks the microphone from his hands with Black Mass. The Velveteen Dream responds by getting on his knees and crawling backwards out of the ring.

We hear from Dakota Kai. She may be new to NXT, but she is not to be taken lightly. She is the captain of Team Kick, and even thought she does not know the future of the Women's title, she plans to kick heads off.

Lars Sullivan beats No Way Jose.

Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly beat Tyler Bate and Trent Seven with some assistance from Adam Cole. After the match, Drew McIntyre shows up and chases Cole, Fish and O'Reilly out of the ring, but they get ambushed by SAnitY (Eric Young, Killian Dain, Alexander Wolfe), who get a piece of them. O'Reilly runs into the ring only to be made quick work of by McIntyre, and he, Fish and Cole retreat throught the crowd to end the show.
