Generation NXT - NXT recap for April 25, 2018

The Undisputed Era (Adam Cole, Bobby Fish, Kyle O'Reilly, Roderick Strong) shows up to start tonight's show. Adam Cole tells the rest of The Undisputed Era to relish the moment due to all the gold they have, as it is what happens when they are backed into a corner. He says that NXT has done everything in their power to keep this from happening, but here they stand. Fish says that they were thrown to the wolves during the last two NXT TakeOver events, but at every single turn, they remained one step ahead and now they are dripping in championship gold. Strong then says everyone wants to know why he turned on Pete Dunne to join The Undisputed Era. He says that he does not always pat himself on the back for something, but he has The Undisputed Era for that, which they do. Strong says he did something for himself and made the best decision of his life. He could have won the gold with Pete Dunne, but Pete Dunne would have eventually turned on him over the WWE United Kingdom Championship. He then says he has seen The Undisputed Era take a bullet for himself, and at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans, he had an epiphany. It may be "Roddy vs. The World," but why fight alone when he can work with The Undisputed Era and take over NXT? O'Reilly says they are tired of being backed into a corner, and that now, they cannot be stopped and that this is their era. He says times are changing, and they are leaving everybody in the dust. Cole says they will prove that when he defends the NXT North American Championship against Oney Lorcan right now and defend it on his own, as he won it on his own and will continue to defend it on his own. Cole says they will prove that when he defends the NXT North American Championship against Oney Lorcan right now and defend it on his own, as he won it on his own and will continue to defend it on his own. Cole then mockingly states he does not need any help beating Oney Lorcan, and asks the rest of The Undisputed Era to watch from backstage. He then says their time is here, and that it is forever their time to shock the system.

Adam Cole retains the NXT North American Championship against Oney Lorcan when the rest of The Undisputed Era (Bobby Fish, Kyle O'Reilly, Roderick Strong) show up with a trainer to check on Cole, which is soon revealed to be a front for Bobby Fish to do some damage behind the referee's back. After the match, The Undisputed Era (Cole, Fish, O'Reilly, Strong) take the boots to Oney Lorcan. Danny Burch runs in to fight off The Undisputed Era, but he falls victim to an Adam Cole superkick before getting laid out by the rest of The Undisputed Era.

He gets up in a Fireman's Carry, but Gargano fights out of it and strikes back against Ciampa. Ciampa eventually kicks Gargano in the groin before pushing him down on the stage. The crowd chants "You tapped out" to Ciampa, who then hits Gargano with a running knee to the side of the face, smashing Gargano's face into a nearby LED board. Referees eventually show up and check on Gargano, and as they tell Ciampa to go back to the back, Ciampa grabs Gargano and hits him with a running White Noise into a table just off the stage. Candice LeRae runs out to check on Gargano as the referees call for medical assistance. Meanwhile, Ciampa stares on at Gargano, nonperturbed, as EMTs show up to put Gargano on a stretcher. Kassius Ohno shows up to help Gargano into the ambulance, and Aleister Black walks by, the NXT Championship still on his shoulder as he watches Gargano gets placed inside. Afterwards, the ambulance drives away, and Tommaso Ciampa can be seen on the top of a tractor trailer waving goodbye to the ambulance. Meanwhile, Aleister Black makes his way to the ring. He calls out Ciampa, but before he can say more, SAnitY (Eric Young, Killian Dain, Alexander Wolfe) show up. SAnity surround Aleister in the ring, and Eric Young says Gargano provided hope. He then says chaos took away that hope, but in chaos, SAnitY will find greatness and sanity. Aleister tells Eric Young that if he is looking for the NXT Championship, then they can go at it for the title right now.

Aleister Black retains the NXT Championship against Eric Young. After the match, Alexander Wolfe and Killian Dain rush at Aleister Black, but he hits them both with Black Mass.

Generation NXT - NXT recap for March 14, 2018

SAnitY (Eric Young and Alexander Wolfe) beat Tino Sabbatelli and Riddick Moss to advance to the semi-finals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic after Nikki Cross takes down Riddick Moss while the referee is dealing with Alexander Wolfe.

Tommaso Ciampa shows up and grabs a microphone, and the crowd becomes a sea of fans carrying the Johnny Gargano face symbol as they boo him. Ciampa tries to speak, but he gets showered with boos and "Johnny Wrestling" chants again. Tommaso Ciampa screams "He's gone!" at the fans, but the crowd's chants only grow louder. Ciampa tries to speak again, but the boos and jeers once again drown him out. Ciampa drops the microphone, and the crowd cheers. The crowd then chants "Yes!" repeatedly as Ciampa leaves the ring and stands near the commentary table before slowly walking around at ringside. The crowd begins to chant "Ciampa sucks" and "We want Johnny!" Ciampa stands there, irritated, then walks up the steps to the stage. The crowd then sings Na Na Hey Hey (The Goodbye Song).

Dakota Kai gets an upset win on Lacey Evans with a schoolgirl pin. After the match, "The Queen of Spades" Shayna Baszler shows up. Dakota is frozen in the corner as Baszler slowly approaches, then Ember Moon shows up to stop Baszler in her tracks. Dakota Kai and the referee manage to get out of the ring. Ember Moon says that is Baszler really wants to do this again, then she will end this regardless of whether she has one arm or not. Both women then brawl, and referees have to restore order. Baszler eventually knocks Ember Moon down with a stinging forearm, but Ember Moon is not out. She hits Baszler with a big boot before going up top. Baszler meets her on the way up and kicks her off the top turnbuckle. Baszler goes for the double wristlock as Ember Moon is laying flat on the top turnbuckle, but Dakota Kai runs up on the apron to hit Baszler with a big boot. Ember Moon gets back up top and hits Baszler with a one-handed Eclipse.

Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) beat Heavy Machinery (Tucker Knight and Otiz Dozovic) to advance to the semi-finals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.

Pete Dunne retains the WWE United Kingdom Championship against Adam Cole by disqualification after Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly get involved. As The Undisputed Era (Cole, Fish, O'Reilly) attack Pete Dunne after the match, Roderick Strong runs into the ring to go after them, but he fares no better. Suddenly, Pete Dunne gets back up and gets the upper hand, and he and Roderick Strong clean house. Afterwards, Roderick Strong extends his hand, but Pete Dunne brushes him off and leaves.

General Manager William Regal is in the ring in front of a table with a contract on it. He is here to moderate the contract signing for the NXT Championship match between Aleister Black and Andrade "Cien" Almas at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans. Aleister Black shows up first; however, when Andrade "Cien" Almas is supposed to show up, Zelina Vega shows up instead. Zelina Vega says Almas is not here tonight, but she is. She says that if he was, he would destroy Aleister Black until there is nothing left. Aleister fails to pay attention as Zelina states that Almas is waiting until NXT TakeOver: New Orleans to embarrass him. Aleister Black puts his hand in front of Zelina's face, signs the contract, hands it to her, moves the table away, sits down, and says they are now on the same level. Zelina Vega takes this as an insult before telling Aleister that Almas will humiliate him, then signs the contract. Aleister then says Almas is not here because he will come up short and he will not measure up. Zelina then slaps Aleister and tells him to sign the contract right now if he thinks he is ready. Aleister signs, then hands the contract to Regal as Zelina Vega keeps telling Aleister he is nothing. Aleister then says he is happy that Zelina Vega came alone, because he didn't. Candice LeRae then runs out to the ring and goes after Zelina Vega, beating her up both in the ring and at ringside. The brawl then ends up on the commentary table, where Candice LeRae continues to pummel Zelina. She then gets Zelina back into the ring, where she then plants her in the mat with a bulldog.

Johnny Gargano shows up. Johnny Gargano says he felt he was going to be NXT Champion at NXT TakeOver: Philadelphia. It did not happen, but getting the crowd reaction that he did was worth more than a championship, and proved he earned the fans' respect and had the match of a lifetime. He says that the fans picked him up and made him what he is. He says he will never forget NXT TakeOver: Philadelphia, but he will also never forget the crutch shot to the back from Tommaso Ciampa. Gargano says he has bit his tongue for long enough, and calls out Tommaso Ciampa. He gets Andrade "Cien" Almas and Zelina Vega instead. Zelina tells Gargano he earned nothing and that he should not be out here, and says Almas should be in the ring celebrating instead of Gargano complaining about why he lost. She tells Gargano that all he proved is that he is a loser, and says Tommaso Ciampa has nothing to do with his loss as Almas has beaten him time and again. She then calls Gargano "Johnny Loser." Gargano says his favorite moment was getting the fans' respect, and that his second-favorite moment was his wife Candace LeRae jumping the guardrail and beating the crap out of her. Zelina gets in her face and jabs her finger in the chest. Suddenly, Candace LeRae shows up and shoves Zelina out of the ring, and Gargano gets the upper hand on Almas. Zelina Vega says that she is sick of Gargano, as Almas has beaten him three times. As she asks what it takes to get rid of him, Gargano demands another shot at the NXT Championship. She proposes that if Gargano cannot win the NXT Championship, he must leave NXT forever. Gargano accepts that challenge, despite the hesitation from Candace LeRae.

That force is Lars Sullivan.

She says that Johnny should put his title shot on the line against Velveteen Dream. Regal says he would advise Gargano not to do that, but Zelina Vega says he would, because Gargano would lose. But if Gargano wants a shot at Andrade "Cien" Almas, then they are happy to oblige.

We hear from No Way Jose. He says 2017 was quite the year, but 2018 will be his year...and the conga line starts next week.

Johnny Gargano shows up unannounced and asks for a microphone. He says he has just seen General Manager William Regal's conversation with Zelina Vega, and says he has heard what everyone has to say. He says Zelina Vega, Velveteen Dream and William Regal doubt his ability to beat Andrade "Cien" Almas. He is tired of being doubted and he is not a broken man, and says his position right now is no fluke. He says this is his time and opportunity, and no one will stop him. If Velveteen Dream wants him to put his opportunity on the line, he will do it next week. For the first time, Gargano knows exactly who he is: "Johnny Freakin' Wrestling," and he is the next NXT Champion.

However, they are both in trouble, as reality and the pressure will set in. When that happens, he wonders if Almas will be the same kind of man he is. As for Zelina Vega, who keeps rambling on about mountains, she and Almas will find out that he is the mountain. He then stands in the middle of the ring and asks Alms to face him like a man one last time, just to prove something to himself...that if, is Zelina Vega lets him off the leash for the night. Almost like clockwork, Almas shows up...except it's not him, it's Zelina Vega. Shortly afterwards, Almas does show up, and he gets in the ring and brawls with Drew McIntyre. Once again, he asks that Almas simply look in his eyes and ask him for the match to his face like a man.

The Velveteen Dream attacks Aleister Black from behind and ties him up in the ring ropes before the next match. He demands that Aleister say his name and slaps him in the face. Velveteen Dream then goes for a running attack off the rope, but he gets kicked in the face and nearly gets hit with Black Mass as he hastily retreats.

Joe then calls out General Manager William Regal, demanding he receive either "The King of Strong Style" Shinsuke Nakamura or the NXT Championship, and that nobody moves and nothing happens until that happens.
