Layin 'da SmackDown - SmackDown Live recap for September 19, 2017

Shane McMahon - now Commissioner of SmackDown Live once again - shows up to start tonight's show. It is announced that WWE Chairman and CEO has been released from a local medical facility with three fractured ribs. He calls Kevin Owens' attack on Vince a cowardly act, and calls Vince "one though, old salty S.O.B." He admits that he and his father Vince do not always see eye-to-eye, but Vince is his father and he loes him. He asks Owens to think about what it would be like if he was at his home watching a member of his family being beaten up by a coward. He then says that when anyone disparages or crosses the line with a McMahon, the whole family will strike back with a vengeance. He says that Owens has no idea what he has done and that he can't figure out what Owens must be thinking right now, as Owens is nowhere in the building. He says that Owens not only beat down the chairman and CEO of WWE, he beat down the patriarch of his family, and he condemns him to a ruthless beating at his own hands, a lifetime of pain and suffering...and Hell In A Cell.

Aiden English sings in the center of the ring about Randy Orton before the next match...and gets interrupted by Orton.

Randy Orton beats Aiden English with an RKO as English comes off the middle rope. After the match, Rusev shows up. He says that he came into SummerSlam a national hero, and came out of it a national disgrace in ten seconds thanks to Orton. He says he will rinse the venom out of The Viper's mouth, and he will do it right now.

Rusev bets Randy Orton after pushing Orton into Aiden English on the apron. Orton fends English off, but Rusev hits the superkick for the impromptu win.

Backstage, Rusev tells Renee Young he is excited to beat Randy Orton. Now he returns home to Bulgaria a conquering hero.

Jinder Mahal and The Singh Brothers (Sunil and Samir Singh) show up. He says that nobody was happy about what he had to say about "The King of Strong Style" Shinsuke Nakamura last week, including Nakamura...then proceeds to make fun of his face on the TitanTron again, this time using the same face the entire time. He goes on to say that the fans are making fun of Nakamura's entrance theme, then makes fun of him some more, saying that the crowd is so xenophobic that half of them think the Japanese "feast on felines and dine on dolphin" and tells Nakamara "you always...rook the same." The crowd then chants "That's too far!" when he says that Nakamura has his hair cut by a dog groomer, says he "looks like Mr. Miyagi," and The Singh Brothers pretend to do karate. Jinder responds with "If you think that's too far, wait until you hear what I have to say...in Punjabi." After speaking in Punjabi, we see a picture of Jinder on the TitanTron. (The promo ends up being so awful that WWE does not even upload it to its YouTube channel.)

Renee Young interviews "The King of Strong Style" Shinsuke Nakamura. He says it won't be as funny when he beats Jinder Mahal for the WWE Championship at Hell In A Cell.

Before the next match, "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles says that after what happened between Kevin Owens and Vince McMahon last week, he can say that Owens has no idea what he has done and that he beat up the man responsible for him being in WWE and responsible for the WWE Universe being here tonight. He was happy to hear when it was Owens vs. Shane McMahon at Hell In A Cell, and says that Owens will not make it out. He then addresses Baron Corbin, his failure at cashing in the Money In The Bank contract and beating John Cena, and says when you step in the ring with him, you will fail. He says "The Lone Wolf" can huff and puff, but he cannot blow down the house that AJ Styles built.

Baron Corbin vs. "The Phenomenal AJ Styles" ends before it can even begin after Corbin attacks Styles before the bell can ring. After Corbin takes the boots to him in the corner, "The Perfect Ten" Tye Dillinger runs into the ring and beats the stuffing out of Corbin to the point that Corbin tweaks his ankle to the point that he cannot even stand up and referees have to separate him from Corbin. Styles rushes Corbin and puts him in the Calf Crusher, and Corbin has to roll out of the ring.

Backstage, Baron Corbin hobbling when Renee Young interviews him. Corbin says he feels violated after what has happened to him, and says that he is going to get even.

Charlotte Flair shows up. She thanks everyone for their thoughts and prayers while her dad "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair was sick. She announces her dad is making a comeback. While she was away, she learned a valuable lesson: life is fragile and unexpected, and you must make the moments count. She promises to make every moment from here on out big for both her and her dad. Suddenly, Natalya shows up, flanked by two backstage hands carrying an easel with a black veil covering it. She says everyone is glad about Ric Flair is getting better, but says it is time to focus on something more important. She tells Charlotte to stay put, as this involves her. Natalya says she will be hosting WWE's first-ever celebration of women. After a long-winded introduction, she says it is a celebration of all women that focuses on one woman who completed the journey Amelia Earhart could not, and that woman whose visage is on the easel is none other than Natalya herself. Charlotte tells Natalya that this was inspiring and uplifting enough to the point that she is challenging her for the WWE SmackDown Women's Championship. Suddenly, Becky shows up. She says Natalya is "the craziest there was, the craziest there is and the craziest there ever will be," and while she has nothing but love for Charlotte and her dad, the title is coming back to her. Naomi shows up, and tells Natlaya that she does not represent all women, and that all she represents is "her stank cats." Naomi is also about to ask for a title match when Tamina and Lana show up. Lana tells Natalya not to listen to them, then tells her she is a crazy cat lady who needs to shut up. She says that all the other women have had their shot at Natalya's title and have failed, and now it is Tamina's time. Natalya backs away from the ring, telling them to shut up as it is not about them and that it is abotut her representing all women. She says she is not a crazy cat lady, and that she will be SmackDown Women's Champion forever. Suddenly, General Manager Daniel Bryan shows up and says that it will be about the other women in the ring tonight, and makes a Fatal Four-Way Match between Charlotte, Becky, Naomi and Tamina for later tonight where the winner faces Natalya for the WWE SmackDown Women's Championship at Hell In A Cell.

The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) guest on commentary for the next match. It is announced that The Usos will get their rematch for the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship against The New Day (Kofi Kingston, Big E, Xavier Woods) at Hell In A Cell.

The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Big E) beat The Hype Bros (Zack Ryder and Mojo Rawley).

Kevin Owens speaks liva via satellite. He apologizes to everyone, including the McMahon family, for his actions last week, and says he can say with complete sincerity that Commissioner Shane McMahon had this coming and that Shane made him do this. He has nothing but respect for Vince and knows that he is a man of his word, but when he looked at Vince, he saw Shane and decimated him. He says that what he did to Vince is nothing compared to what he will do to Shane at Hell In A Cell, as people like him do not go to Hell; instead, they go to Heaven.

Backstage, Mojo Rawley says he is tired of losing, and that something's gotta give. He tells Zack Ryder that they will have to do something drastic.

Dolph Ziggler shows up. Last week, he exposed more of the entrances of Superstars who can't even lace his boots, and says he is the greatest in-ring performer in WWE history and that the fans just don't get it. He then goes to the back and makes fun of Triple H's entrance, After asking "Is that fun? Is that cool? Can I run NXT now?", he heads to the back and does another entrance. This time around, it is "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels' entrance, complete with a custom-made HBK-style Dolph Ziggler tron set. He asks if it gets any more superficial than that, and asks how anyone can be taken seriously after that. He then says we can go lower. The fans then get treated to D-Generation X's entrance before saying he has two words for us: "Who cares?" He asks who cares about two dads who act like teenagers as they ride their names and coast into retirement. Ziggler then says that nobody cares about in-ring performance - or lack there-of - and says he is the best ever, that he couldn't care less and he couldn't care about the fans.

Charlotte Flair beats Tamina, Becky Lynch and Naomi to become #1 contender to the WWE SmackDown Women's Championship and face Natalya at Hell In A Cell.

Here are the top 10 moments for tonight's show!
