Collision Course - Collision recap for June 8, 2024

The Blackpool Combat Club (Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta) vs. FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) ends in a time limit draw. After the match, Dax says everyone is the ring is a fighter and demands five more minutes. All of a sudden, Brandon Cutler shows up on behalf of The Elite with a contract for the match, which states that there are only twenty minutes. Cutler makes his way into the ring only for Claudio to put him in a Giant Swing, and Cash Wheeler says "Sorry, I can't read!" Cutler gets drop kicked, then Claudio slingshots Cutler into Shatter Machine before Dax tears up the contract. Afterwards, Claudio tells FTR that Blackpool Combat Club will accept a rematch anytime and anywhere.

Backstage, Lexy Nair interviews Kyle O'Reilly, who says it is easy to see why Orange Cassidy is so popular and a face of AEW. Suddenly, Undisputed Kingdom (Roderick Strong, Matt Taven, Mike Bennett) shows up, and Roderick Strong tells Kyle that ever since he has come back, he has looked good, but not great, as something is missing. He then says that Undisputed Kingdom is rooting for him and that he has this, and offers his advice. O'Reilly says he appreciates the support, but Roddy tells him not to forgot what he said when he came back.

Kris Statlander beats Robyn Renegade. After the match, Stokely Hathaway says Kris Statlander is an inspiration and his muse, and wishes he had the strength, speed, intensity, and the ability to decimate a division with the snap of a finger of Kris Statlander. He then mentions that he has spoken with Tony Khan and for the first time, they were on the same page, as he said that Kris Statlander is the past, present and future of AEW and will win both of AEW's women's titles. Stokely then announces that Statlander has declared for the women's Owen Hart Foundation Tournament and beat whoever is world champion, as there is nobody who can stop her.

Backstage, Lexy Nair interviews an arriving Willow Nightingale, who says that is is only fair that she also declare for the women's Owen Hart Foundation Tournament, and hopes that she sees Kris Statlander there. As for tonight, she is keeping an eye on the action.

"The Natural" Dustin Rhodes beats Johnny TV after Taya Valkyrie gets ejected from ringside for trying to slap Dustin. After the match, Dustin thanks the fans for not abandoning him after all these years, the locker room, the production crew, AEW founder and President Tony Khan and the cameramen. Dustin then addresses "Scapegoat" Jack Perry, saying that Perry was missed when he left, but when he came back, he attacked Tony Khan and joined The Elite. He then tells Perry that he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and has never worked a day in his life, and recalls Dusty Rhodes' "Hard Times" promo as he says that Perry "ain't sacrificed shit," unlike himself. He remembers seeing Jack Perry as a young kid, but knows him now as a young brat, and says Perry is only mediocre because he is a follower and not a leader, and when one is a follower, the view never changes. Dustin then says he and Perry have a match this Wednesday on Dynamite, and tells Perry that he is going to destroy "[his] little punk ass," as he knows Perry cannot beat him fair and square.

We see a vignette for Zack Sabre Jr., who says that he is returning for some unfinished business with Orange Cassidy at Forbidden Door.

The Premier Athletes (Tony Nese and Ariya Daivari) beat Trip Jordy and Dante Leon.

We hear from Scorpio Sky, who says that there is a gap in AEW and that all of its heroes have fallen. He says that an open hand is not as strong as a closed fist, and on the backs of fallen stars, he will be the fans' hero, voice and champion, as he is here for the fans.

"Timeless" Toni Storm beats Lady Frost. After the match, Toni Storm says Mariah May has had a really tough time recently, and says that she will be facing Mina Shirakawa at Forbidden Door, and while things may be awkward for Mariah, she is proud of her and has never had anyone to look out for her. She says that wants to do the same for her, and has demanded that Mariah May be part of the women's Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. She then tells Mariah that she will be there for her every step of the way.

Backstage, Lexy Nair interviews Shane Taylor Promotions (Shane Taylor, "Taiga Style" Lee Moriarty, Anthony Ogogo), Top Flight (Darius and Dante Martin) and Action Andretti. Action Andretti says Lee Moriarty was his first match and that Moriarty has grown since then, and Lee Moriarty says that he beat him last time and that next time will be no different. Shane Taylor says the past is history, that Moriarty is now part of the baddest fight team in AEW, and that Top Flight and Andretti cannot outwrestle them, as Andretti is the only one with heart and all of them are overgrown stuntmen. He says they will see if they can really rumble next week.

Backstage, Hook and Samoa Joe discuss lacrosse before ganging up on The Premiere Athletes (Tony Nese and Ariya Daivari), while "The Wrestler" Katsuyori Shibata tags along. Joe tells "Smart" Mark Sterling "We did this to you." Shibata's phone says "There is no crying in wrestling."

Daniel Garcia beats Tate Mayfairs.

We see a video package for Zeuxis, who will face Mercedes Moné for the TBS Championship next week on Dynamite.

Backstage, Lexy Nair interviews Orange Cassidy. Orange says that all of his friends are gone and are trying to attack him, and has gone from everyone wanting to team with him to being alone. He says he is more worried about getting through tonight than Forbidden Door.

Orange Cassidy beats Kyle O'Reilly. During the match, Undisputed Kingdom (Roderick Strong, Matt Taven, Mike Bennett) watches from the front row, and even gives advice to O'Reilly. After the match, Orange is attacked from behind by Trent Beretta and Kyle Fletcher. Kyle O'Reilly sees this happening on the way to the back and fights Trent and Fletcher, but he also gets attacked. Kris Statlander shows up and shake hands with Trent Beretta, then Willow Nightingale runs in and chases Kris Statlander and Stokely Hathaway away before checking on Orange. The two of them help O'Reilly up as the show ends.
