Generation NXT - NXT recap for June 18, 2024

Before the next match, Joe Hendry appears. He says that there may be 25 men in the battle royal, but there are 24 other men and one sensation, as he will win the battle royal, win the NXT Championship and bring it back to TNA. He then says that the NXT fans will soon be chanting "We believe" and that they will be believing in Joe Hendry. Hendry ends up being the first man eliminated, thanks to TNA compatriot Frankie Kazarian, who is also in the battle royal and is in his first WWE match in almost nineteen years. (Kazarian himself is eliminated late in the match, being one of the final four.) At the start of the match, Oro Mensah and "All Ego" Ethan Page brawl, and their brawl heads to the back after both men tumble out of the ring through the middle rope.

Je'Von Evans last eliminates Shawn Spears to win the 25-man battle royal to become the #1 contender to the NXT Championship at Heatwave.

Backstage, the women's division is talking about when Fallon Henley shows up and says she is the only one deserving of a shot at the NXT Women's North American Championship, even going so far as to start an argument with Carlee Bright in the process. This leads to an argument between everyone in the locker room, and Sol Ruca sees herself out.

Backstage, Roxanne Perez confronts Lola Vice for eyeing the NXT Women's Championship last week, but Lola makes it clear she is going for it and taking out anyone in her way, and that she will win their match tonight. Roxanne says she does not trust anybody, but she is ready to take care of business.

Backstage, Chase University compliments Ridge Holland on his prowess in the recent battle royal when he receives a Chase University shirt, officially making him part of the university. The O.C. show up and make fun of Ridge, but Chase and Hudson make it clear that they will back Ridge up.

Lola Vice and Roxanne Perez beat Meta-Four (Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson) and the team of Jacy Jayne and Jazmyn Nyx in a Triple Threat tag team match after Roxanne tags herself hits Jakara with Pop Rox after Lola hits Jakara with the spinning back fist. After the match, Roxanne raises Lola's hand, then hits her with a spinning back fist of her own.

Backstage, General Manager Ava congratulates Je'Von Evans on his battle royal win when Ethan Page shows up wanting Oro Mensah dealt with and says the battle royal results should be null and void and that he should be the winner. When Je'Von laughs at him, Ethan takes offense to this, and Je'Von challenges Ethan to a match tonight, which Ava makes official.

Backstage, as the rest of the women's division stares Kelani Jordan down, Sol Ruca shows up and tells Kelani Jordan that she has her match tonight in the bag.

Kelani Jordan retains the NXT Women's North American Championship against "Michin" Mia Yim. The O.C. (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson) show up at the start of the match to watch from ringside. Later in the match, OTM (Bronco Nima and Lucien Price) show up and confront The O.C., and after Jaida Parker shows up and shoves Michin off the top rope, Kelani hits Michin with the split leg moonsault to retain.

Backstage, Kelly Kincaid interviews Ethan Page, who says that the battle royal is still on and that Trick Williams did not beat him at his best. He then says he is back on track and that his first order of business is Je'Von Evans. He says that he will come back after Trick Williams and the NXT Championship, then warns Oro Mensah that he will deal with him when they cross paths.

We see a vignette for former volley standout Izzi Dame, who says that she will prove she is "that girl" and that nobody can measure up to her.

Backstage, Axiom confronts Nathan Frazer for being in tonight's battle royal, but Frazer calls Axiom out for not being in the battle royal. Suddenly, Luca Crusifino shows up on business with a contract for a Heritage Cup match, which Frazer signs without hesitation.

We see still images of Tatum Paxley taking on Jordynne Grace for the TNA Knockouts World Championship at Against All Odds.

Oba Femi heads to the ring. Oba says that no matter how many people step up to him, the results remain the same, and he did what he does best and dominated two of the greatest NXT has to offer at Battleground. He says there is nobody like him, and asks who can take his title. Wes Lee shows up and says it is him, as they both know that Oba did not pin him. Oba says Wes Lee's obsession with the North American Championship is beginning to bug him, and Wes Lee says that when he came back, he came back for Oba. In the background, security stops somebody from jumping the barricade and getting in the ring - who ends up being Brooks Jensen - as Wes Lee says that all of his energy has been focused on the North American Championship, and Oba says that he is done. As Oba leaves, Wes Lee warns him not to turn his back on him, as he has everything going for him and he is making headlines every week, with some WWE Superstars saying he is their favorite. He says that Oba knows deep down what he means to that title, and warns him that he will face a different person when he faces him one-on-one and find out why his name is in all the record books. Oba notes that Wes has a lot of faith in himself and that the fans believe in him, then says that is neither here or there and that all that matters to him is changing those record books. He gives Wes his one-on-one match, but tells him this will be the first and last time he challenges for this as long as he is champion. Wes accepts.

Backstage, Tank Ledger tells Hank Walker says he came up short in tonight's battle royal, but Hank tells Tank that he is medically cleared again and they are back in tag team action. Tank says they should get back on the right path by facing New Catch Republic (Tyler Bate and Pete Dunne) after Tyler Bate eliminated him.

Backstage, No Quarter Catch Crew (Charlie Dempsey, Damon Kemp, Myles Borne) has a meeting with Tavion Heights, and Charlie Dempsey says that he is impressed with Tavion, who he says is what No Quarter Catch Crew needs. Dempsey then makes a match between Tavion and Kemp, and if Tavion wins, he is in.

In backstage footage from "NXT Anonymous," Joe Coffey is angry with Wes Lee getting another North American title shot as he talks with Gallus (Mark Coffey and Wolfgang). All of a sudden, they get jumped by Tyriek Igwe and Tyson Dupont.

Fallon Henley beats Carlee Bright. During the match, Kendal Grey shows up to cheer Carlee on, but Wendy Choo shows up, and when Kendal checks on Carlee on the outside, Wendy puts her in a sleeper and sends her into unconsciousness.

Backstage, Eddy Thorpe says he is starting to get momentum and hopefully win a championship, as NXT is getting hot right now. Meanwhile, a police officer is forcing Brooks Jensen out of the building in the background.

Backstage, Je'Von Evans is met by Trick Williams in the trainer's room. Trick tells Je'Von that "All Ego" Ethan Page is serious business, but Je'Von is not serious about him, and says Ethan treats NXT like a game. Trick says Ethan will always be an outsider to him, and Je'Von says he will get the win tonight.

Chase University (Andre Chase and Duke Hudson) beats The O.C. (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson) after Duke Hudson pins Karl Anderson with a schoolkid pin as chaos ensues both in and out of the ring.

Backstage, General Manager Ava congratulates Kelani Jordan on retaining her title tonight. Jordan says she has someone who never complains or thinks that they are deserving in mind, then Arianna Grace shows up, thinking Kelani is considering her. Kelani says she had Sol Ruca in mind and not Arianna, and Arianna says Sol Ruca does not carry herself like a champion and that only the ocean suits her. Mr. Stone tells Arianna to prove it next week, and Ava makes a match between Arianna and Sol Ruca next week.

Backstage, Thea Hail celebrates Chase University winning and getting on the same page. Duke Hudson says that he did and saw nothing when Andre Chase asks what The O.C. were complaining about.

Backstage, a furious Fallon Henley is met by Jacy Jayne and Jazmyn Nyx, and the three of them agree that they do not like how things are being done in the women's division.

Trick Williams guests on commentary for the next match.

"All Ego" Ethan Page beats Je'Von Evans after tripping Je'Von off the top rope, causing him to land on his taped-up torso so he can hit Ego's Edge for the win. After the match, Ethan Page confronts Trick Williams on the outside, then Shawn Spears runs into the ring and attacks Je'Von. Trick gets in the ring and fights Spears, and Ethan Page joins in to assist Spears. Je'Von Evans manages to get back up and take both Spears and Ethan. All four men are down with the NXT Championship in the middle of the ring as the show ends.
