1 Year Anniversary - Collision recap for June 15, 2024

We hear from Christian Cage, who says that it has been one year since he put Collision and TNT on the map by winning the TNT Championship (even though it was Luchasaurus who did it that night by beating Wardlow for the title), and that the fans will witness why AEW is where the best wrestle. He also says that on the eve of Father's Day, "Christian Cage's Collision" will end up being very special.

The Blackpool Combat Club (Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, "The American Nightmare" Bryan Danielson) beat Rocky "Azucar" Romero, Lio Rush and TMDK (Shane Haste and Mikey Nicholls) in an eight-man tag match. After the match, Jon Moxley addresses Tetsuya Naito, saying that he is a survivor, and that Forbidden Door will be the final conflict. He says he will not be there to defend the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship, but to put an end to Naito once and for all.

We see a video package for MJF vs. Rush next week on Dynamite.

Tony Schiavone interviews The Acclaimed ("Platinum" Max Caster, Anthony Bowens, "Daddy Ass" Billy Gunn) in the ring. Max Caster says they usually show up with a rap and some punchlines, but "The Young Cucks" (Nicholas and Matthew Jackson) issued a $5,000 fine to Anthony Bowens for "disparaging AEW executives" who are out of touch for the fans. Max says that fans want The Acclaimed doing their thing and winning tag team gold, not The Young Bucks wearing women's suit, and Bowens tells The Young Bucks should focus on being face-to-face with them for the first time in four years. Bowens says that they are not the same tag team that they were four years ago and that they have a lot of accolades in AEW, and all they have to do is beat The Young Bucks twice to get their gold back. He says that The Young Bucks can do whatever they want, because they will take the tag team gold back and everyone loves The Acclaimed. Max Caster tells The Elite to shove the fine up "their virgin asses" before starting a rap. Brandon Cutler shuts down the rap before it can get started and proclaims that tonight should be a night of praise for The Elite, as they have held the show on their shoulders since day one and The Acclaimed disparage them every chance they get. As Cutler fines The Acclaimed $10,000, Interim EVP Christopher Daniels shows up and announces that the fines have been reversed. Cutler argues with Daniels, which leads to Daniels beating the crap out of him. He then throws Cutler in the ring, where Cutler is at the mercy of The Acclaimed, who immediately hit Scissor Me Timbers before telling The Young Bucks that they are coming for them.

"The Virtuosa" Deonna Purrazzo beats Thunder Rosa by referee stoppage in a no-disqualification match after hitting Rosa with a camera before making her submit with a security guard's leather belt.

We see a video package chronicling the first year of AEW Collision.

The Outrunners (Truth Magnum and Turbo Floyd) are two of Dalton Castle's boys for the next match. Hechicero is accompanied to the ring for the next match by Gates of Agony (Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona).

Hechicero beats Dalton Castle. After the match, Hechicero continues to attack Dalton, and Gates of Agony (Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona) join in. All of a sudden, The Outrunners (Truth Magnum and Turbo Floyd) run in, but Gates of Agony soon toss them out. All of a sudden, Daniel Garcia and "Daddy Magic" Matt Menard show up and chase Hechicero and Gates of Agony away with metal folding chairs.

Backstage, Arkady Aura interviews Top Flight (Darius and Dante Martin) and Action Andretti. Dante Martin says that they are about fair competition, and Darius says Dante is one of the best high-flyers in AEW. Andretti says that Dante will be the new TNT Champion, then Lio Rush shows up, mentions his history with Andretti and re-introduces himself before wishing Darius luck and hoping to see everyone down the road.

The Patriarchy ("The Prodigy" Nick Wayne, Killswitch, Mama Wayne) are in the ring. After demanding respect, Mama Wayne introduces Christian Cage as "the greatest father who ever lived." Christian then makes his way down to the ring for the Father's Day celebration. Christian Cage notes that today is also the anniversary of the passing of Nick Wayne's father Buddy Wayne, and says that while it can be a tough thing, it is also the best thing to happen to Nick as it led Nick to him. Christian then notices something on an easel that is covered in a black mantle, and Nick hands Christian a Father's Day card, which Christian reads. Nick says he dreams of having half of Christian's talent but will continue to prove his worth. Christian then removes the black mantle to find a sketch of Christian made by Killswitch himself, and while Christian says the sketch is okay, he likes Nick's Father's Day card more and says he will cherish the card forever. He then asks Killswitch why he cannot be more like Nick, which causes Killswitch to almost leave until Christian tells him that he has news that he does not want to miss. Christian mentions that he came up short against Swerve Strickland in his quest for the AEW World Championship and that there is footage that he had his shoulder up. He then says the footage will not be shown, as he plans on working back towards championship gold. He says that it starts with winning the Unified Trios Championships with Nick Wayne and Killswitch, which is his gift to both of them. Christian says Tony Khan may have made AEW to see his sons smile, then declares that AEW is his company. Christian says that he will win all of the championships and become the greatest wrestling in history before declaring that he is Tony Khan's father now, as The Patriarchy are the face of TNT now and forever.

We hear from The Bang Bang Gang (Juice Robinson, Austin Gunn, Colten Gunn). Juice Robinson says they built Collision brick by brick and that he broke his back in the process, and Colten Gunn says that while they have trios coming after their gold, nobody can handle the pressure. Austin Gunn tells The House of Black (Malakai Black, Brody King, Buddy Matthews) to open their eyes and prove that they can hang with them.

Dante Martin beats "Taiga Style" Lee Moriarty to qualify for the TNT Championship ladder Match at Forbidden Door. All seconds are banned from ringside for this match. After the match, Dante is attacked from behind by Shane Taylor and Anthony Ogogo, and Darius Martin and Action Andretti run in to make the save only to be overpowered. All of a sudden, Lio Rush shows up and fights off all three members of Shane Taylor Promotions (Taylor, Moriarty, Ogogo), and he manages to get the better of all of them.

We see a video package for Hikaru Shida, who declares for the women's Owen Hart Foundation Tournament in hopes to once again become champion.

Roderick Strong guests on commentary for the next match.

Kyle O'Reilly beats Anthony Henry by submission.

The House of Black (Malakai Black, Brody King, Buddy Matthews) beat The Bang Bang Gang (Juice Robinson, Austin Gunn, Colten Gunn) in a trios match. During the match, Buddy Matthews hurts his left knee hitting a top rope Meteora on Juice Robinson, and has to be helped to the back by medical staff. Near the end of the match, PAC shows up and trips Juice Robinson off the top rope, allowing Malakai Black to hit a distracted Austin Gunn with The End to win. After the match, The Patriarchy (Christian Cage, "The Prodigy" Nick Wayne, Killswitch, Mama Wayne) appears on the video screen, and Christian Cage reveals that he has laid out Buddy Matthews with a Con-Chair-To backstage.

Here are the highlights for tonight's show!
