Collision Course - Collision recap for June 1, 2024

Tony Schiavone interviews FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) in the ring to start the show. Cash thanks the fans, then says it is awkward knowing that they failed to get the job done at Anarchy In The Arena. He says that they knew what they were getting into that night, and reiterates that FTR would die for AEW and that they are not dead yet. Dax says he did not want to come out here tonight, due to the feeling of letting so many people down, and he asks if it is even worth it anymore. The fans chant "Don't give up!" before Dax says that it is indeed worth it, and that he will die for AEW. He then says that The Elite (Matthew Jackson, Nicholas Jackson, "The Rainmaker" Kazuchika Okada, "Scapegoat" Jack Perry) will have to worry if FTR is around the corner until he is six feet under, then says that they, Darby Allin and Bryan Danielson will all come back and that they will all whip The Elite's asses.

In backstage footage from Double or Nothing, "Scapegoat" Jack Perry says that The Elite (Matthew Jackson, Nicholas Jackson, "The Rainmaker" Kazuchika Okada, "Scapegoat" Jack Perry) has saved AEW and that nobody believes in AEW's spirit more than him, especially after AEW left him for dead, and that he continues to fight, sacrifice and shape the future through blood, sweat and fire.

Roderick Strong beats Lio Rush.

Backstage, we hear from Kyle O'Reilly. He says having great matches is a by-product of being in the ring, and with Will Ospreay, he plans to beat him and take his title and violently as possible, as Ospreay has yet to beat him. O'Reilly says he is being overlooked, but not anymore, and that he will beat Ospreay for the International Championship.

Backstage, Lexy Nair tries to get an interview with Undisputed Kingdom (Roderick Strong, Matt Taven, Mike Bennett) when Roderick Strong shows up telling Tony Khan he wants Swerve Strickland on Dynamite so he can face Will Ospreay as AEW World Champion at Forbidden Door. Tony Khan loves the idea and makes the match official.

Daniel Garcia and "The Wrestler" Katsuyori Shibata beat The Workhorsemen (JD Drake and Anthony Henry). During the match, JD Drake suffers a torn ligament in his foot, and has to be helped to the back.

Backstage, we hear from Stokely Hathaway and Kris Statlander, and they give Willow Nightingale a gift in the form of garbage to tell her that she is garbage before Statlander announces that she will destroy and decimate who gets in her way next week.

Thunder Rosa beats Reina Dorada by submission.

Cage of Agony ("The Machine" Brian Cage, Bishop Kaun, Toa Liona) beat KM and Los Suavecitos (Danny Rose and Ricky Gee).

In backstage footage from Rampage, "Timeless" Toni Storm calls Mariah May her offspring and "a legend in bloom," then Mariah May says that they will soon have a sequel with Saraya called "Shit Storm" before the two of them head to the bar.

Claudio Castagnoli beats Johnny TV despite the interference and distraction attempts by Taya Valkyrie.

We see a vignette for The Premier Athletes (Tony Nese, Ariya Daivari, Josh Woods) narrated by "Smart" Mark Sterling.

Shane Taylor Promotions (Shane Taylor and "Taiga Style" Lee Moriarty) beats West Coast Wrestling Crew (Royce Isaacs and Jorel Nelson). After the match, Anthony Ogogo knocks Royce Isaacs out.

Backstage, we hear from Iron Savages (Boulder, Bronson, Jacked Jameson). Jacked Jameson says the trios division is full of meatheads who don't want to face them, and that they are willing to pay for their travel to Titty City. Suddenly, Killswitch shows up and attacks all of them single-handedly.

Will Ospreay retains the AEW International Championship against Kyle O'Reilly. Both Ospreay and O'Reilly show good sportsmanship after the match.

We hear from Swerve Strickland, who congratulates Will Ospreay for becoming number one contender for the AEW World Championship. He says that last year, he was on the pre-show and watching Ospreay in the main event at Forbidden Door, but now, he is on the main card. He also says that he and Ospreay seem to compliment each other very well. Swerve then addresses Roderick Strong demanding a match with him, saying that just because Roddy got a win on Lio Rush, that does not mean is a gatekeeper, and now he will give him what he wants and ultimately get rid of him before facing Ospreay at Forbidden Door.

Here are the highlights for tonight's show!
