Generation NXT 2.0 - NXT 2.0 recap for October 12, 2021

In backstage footage from earlier today, Legado del Fantasma (Santos Escobar, Joaquin Wilde, Raul Mendoza) attack Top Dolla and B-Fab before kidnapping them. As they do this, they also attack Isaiah "Swerve' Scott, and Escobar says "Good luck, escaballero!" before driving off.

Joe Gacy is in the ring. Gacy says that with the NXT Championship comes untold unbalance, and tonight, he will be victorious over "that walking example of toxic masculinity and championship privilege" Tommaso Ciampa. He says he speaks for all of the snowflakes as he brings wonderful transparent inclusivity to Halloween Havoc by beating Tommaso Ciampa.

Tommaso Ciampa beats Joe Gacy. (Had Gacy won, he would have been in the NXT Championship match at Halloween Havoc.) After the match the bald man attack Ciampa, then he grabs Joe Gacy. Gacy then puts his hand on the bald man's face and smiles, then the bald man runs away. When Gacy walks up to Ciampa, Ciampa shoves him. Gacy just smiles.

Toxic Attraction (Mandy Rose, Jacy Jayne, Gigi Dolin) heads to the ring. Dolin says they showed up last week to put an end to Raquel Gonzalez, but Io Shirai and Zoey Stark wanted to play hero and ruin their fun, leaving them unsatisfied. Jayne says Shirai and Stark want to lead by example and play by the rules, but Toxic Attraction could care less about the rules and do what they want when they want, and they want the NXT Women's Tag Team Championships. She says that Stark and Shirai's days are numbered and their time is up at Halloween Havoc. Mandy says they won't be the only successful ones that night, as she will challenge Raquel for the NXT Women's Championship. She tells Raquel she got lucky last week and that her luck is about to end, because Toxic Attraction will make history and wear gold around all of their waists. Mandy then says that regardless of her hair color, she's still "the baddest bitch in the game."

We see a black-and-white vignette of someone dragging a shovel through a graveyard, saying they will bury the past so they will start again. We then find out Halloween Havoc is on October 26th.

Xyon Quinn beats Malik Blade.

Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviews Tommaso Ciampa. Ciampa says that in two weeks, he is dialed in for a big fight at Halloween Havoc. Suddenly, Grizzled Young Veterans (Zack Gibson and James Drake) shows up. Zack Gibson says he and James Drake cannot wait to see him wait to see him lose the NXT Championship to a rookie. Suddenly, Bron Brakker shows up wanting to fight Grizzled Young Veterans, who then leave. Breakker then tells Ciampa that he will look out for him between now and Halloween Havoc, as he wants to beat Ciampa at his best.

Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviews Isaiah "Swerve" Scott, who says that the rest of Hit Row (Ashante "Thee" Adonis, Top Dolla, B-Fab) will be right and will want him to focus on Santos Escobar, who brought out the evil spirits in him and does not want to face him one-on-one. He says that they left the wrong man standing today and that he will head to SmackDown with the North American title, and there is nothing Santos Escobar can do about it.

Ivy Nile beats Valentina Feroz with a bow and arrow rack in her debut match. After the match, Malcolm Bivens says the match was a message to every woman in NXT, then says the pitbull has been unleashed and Ivy Nile has arrived and did not come to play. He also says The Creed Brothers have also not come to play and have put in the work day in and day out to become the most dominant tag team in NXT today, then introduces everyone to Roderick Strong. Before Roderick Strong can say much, however, Ikemen Jiro shows up. Julius Creed says that in the Diamond Mine, everything is earned that you don't have to be ready if you stay ready as he shows his tanktop. When Julius asks Ikemen Jiro what he will do about it, Ikemen Jiro punches Julius, then quickly gets away.

Julius Creed beats Ikemen Jiro. After the match, Diamond Mine gang up on and attack Ikemen Jiro, then KUSHIDA runs in and fends Diamond Mine off until he almost punches Ivy Nile, which provides a distraction and a means for the numbers game to take over.

We hear from Raquel Gonzalez, who says the NXT Women's Championship is proof she is the queen of the mountain. She says she has beaten a wide variety of challengers which brings her to Mandy Rose. She says making history comes with a price and that it is on at Halloween Havoc, and that she will be raising the stakes. Raquel says that it is time to spin the wheel and make the deal.

It's time for Lashing Out With Lash Legend. Lash Legend talks about the WWE Draft, then calls Hit Row (Isaiah "Swerve" Scott, Ashante "Thee" Adonis, Top Dolla, B-Fab) "the legends of the week" and calls Tony D'Angelo trying to get on the show "the lashing out of the week." She tells Tony D'Angelo to "forget about it" if he wants to be on Lashing Out.

Kyle O'Reilly and Von Wagner beat Pete Dunne and Ridge Holland. During the match, it is announced that Tommaso Ciampa and Bron Breakker vs. Grizzled Young Veterans (Zack Gibson and James Drake) is official for next week.

At Chase University, Andre Chase teaches about ring awareness, saying that Odyssey Jones should have put his foot on top of the rope and that Jones lacks ring awareness. When a student named Brandon asks Chase if what he did should have led to a disqualification, Chase screams at Brandon and tells him to get out.

We hear from Tony D'Angelo, who walks about his successful debut match from last week as well as the scheduling conflict regarding Lashing Out With Lash Legend, saying he does things on his own time. As he says that the producer for Lashing Out was a nice guy, D'Angelo walks away from his car, and someone is seen to be stuck inside the trunk, and it is implied to be the producer.

Duke Hudson beats Grayson Waller after kicking the middle rope to stop a springboard move before grabbing the tights on a schoolkid pin. After the match, Hudson tosses a poker chip to Waller.

We hear from Legado del Fantasma (Santos Escobar, Joaquin Wilde, Raul Mendoza). Santos Escobar says it is a shame what happened to Hit Row and what will happen to Swerve, then says the rest of Legado del Fantasma will stay in the back so it is just him and Swerve.

We hear from Imperium (Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel), who says that the current tag team champions are the worst that the division has to offer and that MSK (Nash Carter and Wes Lee) is an embarassment to the sport, and that they are here to save NXT from that because the mat is sacred.

Indi Hartwell and Persia Pirotta beat Sarray and Amari Miller. After the match, Persia Pirotta proposes she and Indi Hartwell go for the NXT Women's Tag Team Championships, then Zoey Stark and Io Shirai show up. Shirai says she does not like Indi, Persia and Stark, then Toxic Attraction (Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne) show up. Dolin and Jayne says they do not care about anything or anyone except the women's tag team titles. This starts a three-team brawl in the ring in which Shirai and Stark come out on top.

Backstage, Grayson Waller meets a woman in a blue dress and gets a date, then Cameron Grimes shows up and wonders how Grayson can find a woman. Grayson tells Cameron he can have a bit of luck if he cleans up a bit and introduces him to a dating app.

We see a vignette for Solo Sikoa, who says you will only find his win-loss record on the street, where he has fought since he was fifteen years old. Solo Sikoa is coming soon to NXT.

Isaiah "Swerve" Scott retains the NXT North American Championship after Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendoza get on the apron only for Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams to run out and beat them up. After the match, Camerlo Hayes raises Swerve's hand, then lays him out with a lariat before Trick Williams hands him the contract and a pen. Carmelo then signs his contract and hands it to the referee. Carmelo Hayes executes his championship opportunity.

Carmelo Hayes beats Isaiah "Swerve" Scott to become the NXT North American Champion!

Here are the top ten moments from tonight's show!
