CM Punk heads to the ring to start tonight's show. CM Punk congratulates John Cena on his retirement and thanks him for all he has done as he says that he would like one more match, then addresses Drew McIntyre. Punk mentions that McIntyre got himself suspended during the Money In The Bank post-show after shoving referees down and hitting General Manager Adam Pearce in the face with a back elbow, which caused Wade Barrett to hold McIntyre back. He says he has been trying to get his hands on McIntyre for months and teach him that there are consequences for actions and that he should not be shocked that he brought the fight back to him, and says McIntyre blew it again because he is the consequences to all his actions. He also says that McIntyre will not be champion again for as long as there is air in his lungs, and says that what he did to McInytre is nothing. He also says that he was fined $25,000 for his own actions while McIntyre got fined double that, then asks General Manager Adam Pearce to lift McIntyre's suspension, as even the fans want to see him beat McIntyre up. Seth "Freakin'" Rollins shows up instead, and dares CM Punk, who is sitting on the commentary table at this point, to come to the ring. Punk tells Rollins to watch what he says and not speak disrespectfully, and Rollins wants to know why "actions have consequences" apply to everyone in his life but himself, as he did the one thing he told Punk not to do when he came back: stick his nose in his business. Punk says that he was taking care of his own business, and while it may not mean nothing to him, but Drew McIntyre is walking around with his bracelet that reminds him of his family and he wants his pound of flesh. He says that what he was doing was personal and that he has no quarrel with Rollins, then apologizes, saying he did not mean to screw anything for him and he is snowblind with rage. Rollins says Punk always has an excuse, and just gaslights and acts like everything is his fault as Punk says he always has an answer, and Rollins calls Punk "the dumbest smart dude" he has ever met in his life. He says that Punk has yet to realize that the world does not revolve around him, and says he can be a selfish bastard and burn bridges everywhere else. He says he was willing to let the selfishness slide until Saturday, for he would be World Heavyweight Champion if it were not for him. Rollins says he is out of shots at the title and that Punk cost him the title, and now it is his turn to take from Punk. He says that if Punk doesn't care about causing collateral damage just to get to McIntyre, then he will snap his arm and put him back on the shelf.
Backstage, General Manager Adam Pearce is met by "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio, who says that he does not want to tag with Liv Morgan, despite Liv Morgan wanting the match. Adam Pearce mentions Dominik interfering in the last three Women's World title matches and tells him he is in the match, then leaves. Liv Morgan shows up and says that she made the match to make it up for him, and Dominick reluctantly reneges.

After Jey hits Gable with the Spear, he Yeets and runs, leaving Gable alone in the ring as fog appears around the ring. "Abbie" shows up directly in front of Gable outside of the ring, and Gable runs down the ramp to the back. We then notice that "Abbie" has another package, which she hands to Pat McAfee.
Backstage, Jackie Redmond interviews Sheamus. After they both acknowledge what has just happened, Sheamus says it takes a long time to understand the business and put on banger after banger before "Big" Bronson Reed shows up. Bronson says everyone should be talking about him, as he has the match tonight and he is the future, while Sheamus is stuck in the past talking about his fifteenth anniversary. Sheamus says Bronson should know that interrupting him leads to an in-ring match. Bronson says he will fight him any time, just not tonight, and that Sheamus will see what he does to Pete Dunne.
Pat McAfee opens the package from earlier, which contains another VHS cassette. The cassette is taken to the production truck.
"Big" Bronson Reed beats Pete Dunne. After the match, Bronson is about to hit Dunne with another Tsunami when Sheamus shows up and brawls with Bronson, and Pete Dunne helps Sheamus set up the Brogue Kick. Sheamus embrace Dunne, but Dunne pushes him away and leaves.
Backstage, Seth "Freakin'" Rollins meets with Damian Priest alone to talk business. Priest tells Finn Balor, JD McDonagh and Carlito to head out and take care of business tonight. Rollins says it is better to be lucky than good, and Rollins says that Priest was both, and that he also kept his word. Since Priest kept his word, he will keep his. Rollins says he will not challenge him for the World Heavyweight title again for as long as he is champion, but if Priest wants to keep the World Heavyweight Championship, he must be better at SummerSlam. Priest says he kept his word, and says that since Rollins is willing to keep is, he is willing to go to war with him again; all he has to do is name the time and place. Both men shake hands, then Priest gets a phone call.
Three-time Grammy Award winner Zac Brown is seen in the crowd.
Sami Zayn heads to the ring. Sami says Bron Breakker brought everything he had, but he walked in thinking Sami was the underdog in their match and that he is no underdog anymore, as he is a champion. He says that Bron Breakker found out it is one thing to knock him down and that it is another to keep him down, then Bron Breakker shows up. Bron stare at Sami both silently and menacingly before saying he is here to look Sami in the eye and say he is the only man to beat him, and says there is no reason for him to get a rematch. He then Spears Sami from out of nowhere, even knocking him out of one of his shoes in the process, and referees and officials have to keep Bron away from Sami. Bron then manages to sneak off near the ramp and hit Sami with another Spear. Ilja Dragunov tries - and fails, thanks to security and officials - to get his hands on Bron Breakker before running up to Sami Zayn to check on him.
Backstage, as Sami Zayn is checked on in the trainer's room, Ilja Dragunov wants Bron Breakker. General Manager Adam Pearce tells Dragunov he has Bron tonight.
Before the next match, The Judgment Day (Finn Balor and JD McDonagh) and Carlito launch a pre-bell attack on The Awesome Truth (The Miz and R-Truth), then Braun Strowman shows up and chases The Judgment Day and Carlito around. This leads to Finn Balor and JD McDonagh getting stereo Attitude Adjustments from The Miz and R-Truth before the bell rings.

Backstage, General Manager Adam Pearce meets with CM Punk. Pearce says he will set up a meeting with Drew McIntyre to see if McIntyre is willing to have a match with Punk, but warns Punk that if he does not stay home and let him deal with McIntyre, the match is off. Punk agrees. Backstge, Liv Morgan says that she and "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio should work on double-team moves and get on the same page if Dominik wants to beat Rey Mysterio. Liv Morgan tries to stretch Dominik's leg when Carlito and the rest of The Judgment Day (Finn Balor, Damian Priest, JD McDonagh) show up. Liv then leaves. Priest says Dominik should have dealt with Liv Morgan and that this is not hard, and Dominik says he will deal with Liv. Priest then says he has some news he is keeping to himself and will not mention until later.
We see the contents of the VHS cassette. Bo Dallas talks about his family, who says that he took those that no one wanted - the discarded, the forgotten - and gave them a purpose. He says that they are so happy that they were remembered, as being a glutton for punishment does not make abandonment hurt any less. We see images of Joe Gacy and Erick Rowan as Bo Dallas says the captives should be set free so that they need no master. When he asked if The Wyatt Sicks are though of as sick, a voice say "Yes, we do." Bo Dallas then says "Sick is what we shall be."
Backstage, Chad Gable meets with General Manager Adam Pearce regarding the Wyatt Sicks, saying they are talking about him, but Pearce asks Gable if he has ever thought about why they are going after him. Gable says he will take care of everything his way, but he demands an apology from everyone as well as a vacation afterwards. After Gable leaves, Pearce opens his office door to find Bo Dallas.
We hear from Damage CTRL (Dakota Kai, Iyo Sky, Kairi Sane). Iyo Sky says Damage CTRL has lost control and must change. Dakota Kai says they are world-class talent and should not be pushed to the side, but tonight, that changes when they push back and show what they are capable of. Kairi Sane says change brings destruction of what was, and that tonight, they will clip Lyra Valkyria's wings and dance on Katana Chance and Kayden Carter. Iyo says they have lost control, but tonight, they take it back.
Ilja Dragunov beats Bron Breakker by disqualification after Bron throws a chair from the timekeeper's area at Dragunov. After the match, Bron attacks Dragunov some more, but Sami Zayn runs into the ring and attacks Bron before checking on Dragunov. Bron drags Sami out of the ring and throw shim around on the outside, then Dragunov and Bron brawl.
We here from Damian Priest, who says that he did not ask for Drew McIntyre and CM Punk to get involved at Money In The Bank. He asks what kind of champion has had controversy in their reign, then says there is not one. He says he walked into Money In The Bank as champion and walked out as champion, and now he looks to SummerSlam and Gunther. He looks forward to the challenge, not from Gunther, but for himself, as he wants to walk in and out as champ. He says Gunther can step up to him next week, and when all is said and done, he will go down like the rest.
It is announced that last Monday, Kofi Kingston has suffered a strain in his shoulder. We then hear from The Final Testament (Karrion Kross, Scarlett, Akam, Rezar, Paul Ellering). Karrion Kross says Kofi Kingston will not be playing the accordion, then says that the old guard is the enemy and will make way for the new. He says that Xavier Woods defeated him while Kofi Kingston could not, then says Woods can make his own legacy or end up in the hospital with Kofi. Kross says The New Day (Kofi and Woods) is dead and that Woods is the last to realize it.
Damage CTRL (Dakota Kai, Iyo Sky, Kairi Sane) beat Lyra Valkyria, Katana Chance and Kayden Carter in a six-woman tag match. Backstage, Cathy Kelley interviews Zelina Vega and Rey Mysterio. Zelina says that if it were not for "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio, she would be a champion, and that both Liv Morgan and Dominik know that. She says they are a hot mess and will be more of a mess after tonight. Rey says teaming with Zelina will be a pleasure and that they will show Liv and Dominik up tonight when they end this story.
Backstage, Jackie Redmond interviews "The Queen of Spades" Shayna Baszler, Zoey Stark and Sonya Deville. Shayna says they are the ones who run the women's division. Zoey says they are done waiting and have been screwed twice by people who cannot lace their boots. Sonya says she has been helping them to see their full potential as the killers they can be, and that Damage CTRL is the start. She says that they are here and that there is nothing anyone can do. The Unholy Union (Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn) show up and says that as long as they are tag team champions, they run the division.
We hear from Gunther, who says that there is a reason why he is feared, as he has learned that all that matters in life is winning. He says that WWE lacked a powerful figure and had no choice but to call his name, and that WWE needed him, not the other way around. He says that he embraced NXT UK as his battleground, and saw nothing but children chasing their fantasies. It was then that he realized that he enjoyed making people miserable as he restored honor and prestige to professional wrestling, which he says is on the line at SummerSlam.
Liv Morgan and "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio beat The Latino World Order (Zelina Vega and Rey Mysterio) after Liv Morgan trips Rey Mysterio off the top turnbuckle and onto the top rope, allowing Dominik to hit the top rope splash and finally get a win against his father. After the match, Liv celebrates with Dominik, first with the both of them hugging each other as they caught in the moment, then with Liv jumping on top of Dominik, putting him in yet another compromising position, then Rhea Ripley suddenly returns. Liv hightails it out of there through the crowd, then Rhea gets in the ring and tells Dom "Mami's back." Dom tries to hug Rhea, but Rhea is having none of it.
