Beach Break - Dynamite recap for July 3, 2024

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Daniel Garcia and "Daddy Magic" Matt Menard. Garcia says he and Menard are no strangers to pressure, and while he respects Will Ospreay and what he wants to do for AEW, he is not losing tonight. MJF shows up and tells Garcia that this is is what he wants to see, and that he will be in his corner tonight. Garcia leaves, then Menard tells MJF that he is all right with him after everything he has done for Garcia.

"The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson beats PAC with a crucifix pin after PAC tries to counter the Lebell Lock by rolling Danielson back to pin him to advance to the finals of the men's Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. During the match, it is announced that the first member of Team AEW for Blood & Guts will be revealed later tonight.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Willow Nightingale. Willow says "Nothing matters, smile anyway" is a motto for her in an unforgiving world, then says that Kris Statlander and Stokely Hathaway know nothing about that and that she is going to win the Owen Hart Tournament for a second time and become world champion, and she will make that all happen when she beats Kris Statlander tonight.

Mark Briscoe is in the ring. He talks about how he came close to becoming TNT Champion only to come up short, then says he is more focused on this week, which is Shark Week, which makes him think of Blood & Guts. He then declares himself a member of Team AEW. As Mark continues to speak, he is smacked from behind with the TNT Championship by "Scapegoat" Jack Perry. Kyle O'Reilly gets in the ring and beats up Perry, but he gets hit with a Rainmaker by "The Rainmnaker" Kazuchika Okada before The Young Bucks (Nicholas and Matthew Jackson) show up to watch. The Young Bucks then get in the ring to hit Mark Briscoe with an EVP-Trigger before The Acclaimed ("Platinum" Max Caster, Anthony Bowens, "Daddy Ass" Billy Gunn) rush into the ring, cause The Elite (Nicholas, Matthew, Okada, Perry) to flee.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Luther, "Timeless" Toni Storm and Mariah May. Toni tells Mariah that Hikaru Shida is dangerous and that she would be devasted if she lost, then says that with her in her corner, no one can stop her.

Willow Nightingale beats Kris Statlander to advance to the finals of the women's Owen Hart Foundation Tournament after Statlander nearly knocks Stokely off the ring apron with a chain and Willow pins her with a schoolkid pin.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Jeff Jarrett, who has no words regarding the tournament and leaves. Jay Lethal says that he and Sonjay Dutt have never seen Jarrett more prepared, as tonight is about honoring one of his best friends in Owen Hart.

Tony Schiavone interviews Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. in the ring. Britt says everyone has a past, a present and a future, which the past a lesson, the present a gift and the future a motivation. She says that for the last ten months, everyone has wondered where she has been. Britt says that she has been injured in that time, but it takes more than injury to keep her away from AEW. She then mentions that one day, she started feeling very sick and the room was spinning, her vision was blurring and her right arm was tingling and numb, and she could not even open a water bottle. Soon, her full right side stopped working. Britt reveals she was diagnosed with a transient ischemic attack, or TIA, and that she basically had a mini-stroke, and that she had to take time off. Britt says she is now cleared and healthy, but she admits that she was more nervous and unsure of herself than she was on Sunday because she did not know if anyone would cheer for her when she came out of the tunnel. She thanks everyone for welcoming her back with open arms and says that she will always be in the fans' corner, for at the end of the day, she is one of them. Britt tells the fans to go through a hard time if they happen to be in one and come out of the other side, as we all possess the insult to become elite. She also admits that there is a new female face of AEW after shedding blood, sweat and tears in the ring and building the company from the ground up, and sarcastically states that she worked for a decade to become a CEO. She then says that the only three letters that matter in this company are D.M.D. All of a sudden, Mercedes Moné shows up at the arena, where she is congratulated by The Young Bucks (Nicholas and Matthew Jackson). Matthew then demands that Mercedes' championship celebration start while Britt is still in the ring, and balloons are placed in the corners of the ring and the center of the mat as Mercedes makes her way there. The crowd starts chanting "D.M.D.," much to the slight shock of Mercedes, and Britt takes this as Mercedes outshining her moment. Mercedes takes this as Britt trying to steal her spotlight, and tells her to look at what a real champion looks like. Britt says she was the first woman going all in for All Elite Wrestling while Mercedes was "a broken bitch with a broken leg," and wants to challenge her at All In. Mercedes tells Britt to get in the back of the line. Britt says "Bitch, what line?" Mercedes, noting Britt is a fan, tells Britt that there is a price to pay when you mess with Mercedes Moné.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Will Ospreay and Kyle Fletcher. They are soon met by Don Callis, and Ospreay tells Callis that the loss is all on him, and admits that he owes Callis so much. He then states that he wants out of the Don Callis family. Callis says he is not one to let people out of signed agreements with him, but he is happy to do him the favor. He says that maybe one day, he will ask Ospreay for the favor. Callis and Ospreay then hug. After Callis walks away, so does Fletcher.

"The Learning Tree" Chris Jericho heads to the ring with a clipboard. As he does, security shows up and approaches Taz at the announce table. He says he is guesting on commentary to get some TV, then says Hook committed a cardinal sin by using the Judas Effect on him. He also says that Taz is a biased announcer for cheering for Hook, then announces that Taz must leave the announce table for the rest of the evening and leave the arena immediately as per an executive order by The Young Bucks (Nicholas and Matthew Jackson). Taz is escorted out of the building by security.

Samoa Joe, Hook and "The Wrestler" Katsuyori Shibata beat Gates of Agony ("The Machine" Brian Cage, Kaun, Toa Liona) in a trios match with a triple Redrum. After the match, "The Bad Apple" Bryan Keith and Big Bill attack Shibata and Joe from behind with metal folding chairs, and Chris Jericho joins in on the attack. Bryan Keith rips his sling off in the process. Bryan Keith then wraps a chair around Shibata's arm before striking the chair with another chair, and Big Bill keeps hitting Joe in the back with a chair. Jericho then dons a knuckle duster and punches Hook in the head with it before Bryan Keith produces a table, and Big Bill choke slams Hook through the table.

Jeff Jarrett's wild card opponent is revealed to be "Hangman" Adam Page.

"Hangman" Adam Page beats Jeff Jarrett to advance in the men's Owen Hart Foundation Tournament.

Backstage, Big Bill and "The Bad Apple" Bryan Keith attack Hook, and Chris Jericho throws a fireball into Hook's eyes.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews "Hangman" Adam Page, who is soon congratulated by The Young Bucks (Nicholas and Matthew Jackson). Matthew asks Page to be their fifth man in Blood & Guts, but Page grabs him and warns him that he is not "their man" or their puppet anymore and that he is not in the mood for their "bullshit games," and that he is winning the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament.

Will Ospreay retains the AEW International Championship against Daniel Garcia after MJF offers Garcia the Dynamite Diamond Ring and Garcia refuses, which allows Ospreay to hit the Hidden Blade for the win. After the match, Ospreay tries to console Garcia and offers him words of encouragement, then leaves. MJF then takes the blame for Garcia's loss and tells Garcia that he busted his ass, then tells Garcia that the fans still love him before raising his hand and hugging him. MJF then kicks Garcia in the groin before putting on the Dynamite Diamond Ring. When "Daddy Magic" Matt Menard shows up, MJF punches Menard with the ring, then spits on Garcia and punches Garcia with the ring. Security soon shows up, but MJF punches them all out before hitting Garcia with the ground and pound. Garcia still tries to get up, and MJF hits him with a piledriver from the middle rope even as Interim EVP Christopher Daniels tells him not to do it. As referees check on Garcia, MJF attacks Garcia further. Will Ospreay returns to the ring and chases MJF out of the ring and out into the crowd. Garcia has to be taken out of the ring on a stretcher.

Here are the highlights from tonight's show!
