Generation NXT - NXT recap for July 23, 2024

The show begins with Trick Williams making his way to the ring. Cedric Alexander asks Trick what he is doing, but Trick says he has made his mind up and he wants "All Ego" Ethan Page. As Trick heads to the ring, Ashante "Thee" Adonis shows up and tells Cedric "I told you so." Trick heads to the ring and says he has not been the same since he lost the NXT Championship, and after seeking advice, he proclaims that Ethan Page will see him again and that he will not stop until he gets his title back. Cedric Alexander heads to the ring and says the advice he is looking for is coming from a good place, then tells Trick that he is keeping him from making a mistake while blinded by his passion. Ashante "Thee" Adonis shows up and tells Cedric that Trick is not trying to hear him, but Trick thinks Adonis is trying to stir the pot. Ashante says he is here to pick up the ball Trick dropped. Trick says Ashante needs help picking up the ball, then refers to Hit Row. Cedric says Trick is letting emotion cloud his judgment, while Ashante says that Trick is in "a distant third place." Cedric takes this as Trick proclaiming he is better than him and takes it as him taking his kindness for weakness and challenges him to a match. Trick accepts the challenge, then Ashante says "Another Trick opportunity, another Trick mistake." Trick pops Ashante in the mouth for it and clotheslines him out of the ring, then has a staredown with Cedric.

He also says there was no referee, and the referee says there was no legitimate match. As Ethan Page compliments the ref, Oro Mensah shows up, gets Ethan Page in a schoolkid pin, and gets a three-count from the referee. Ethan Page is livid.
