Memphis Thing - Memphis Wrestling recap for July 13, 2024

Ray Ray Sanders and Derrick King beat The Last Savages (Gio Savage and Draco) after Gio Savage inadvertently clotheslines Draco. After the match, Dustin Starr interviews Ray Ray Sanders and Derrick King at the announce desk. Derrick says they are closer than brothers and there is nothing to see here, and Ray Ray agrees.

We hear from Mike Anthony. Once again, Mike Anthony is frustrated with his losing streak and the fact that he has nobody, and says that he has forgotten who and what he is.

Dustin Starr interviews "Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock at the announce desk. Blaylock says he has scouted talent for weeks, and that he will watch the next match because he has his eyes on Mike Anthony. Blaylock guests on commentary for the next match. When Jay Smooth comes out for the next match, he is crawling out from the back, with Mike Anthony close behind, as he has already attacked him.

Jay Smooth beats Mike Anthony by countout as Mike Anthony screams at the camera. After the match, "Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock chews out Mike Anthony before saying that he can make him a star because he is a winner, and tells Mike Anthony that he wants him in The Hollywood Clique (Blaylock, Van Viciouss, Secret Service). Blaylock opens his arms and hugs Mike Anthony, and Mike Anthony hugs back with a dejected look on his face.

It is announced that Mackenzie Morgan is still under medical supervision and has received partial clearance, and that she will be at the WrestleCenter next week.

Nixi XS beats Just Jodie. After the match, Dustin Starr interviews Nixi XS at the announce desk. Nixi says she has studying her competition, yet Mackenzie Morgan only gives an open challenge when she is not here and calls her concussion "a headache" while mocking the fact that Mackenzie is not here. Nixi says that the next time Mackenzie is here, "You...me...I write the contract."

We see Kurt Swiss at the WrestleCenter, which he calls "the place where Memphis wrestling history comes to die," then says Big John Dalton is the face of Memphis Wrestling and is nothing like the Memphis legends. He says that next week, he will show him what it means to be great.

Dustin Starr interviews Reverend Ash Taylor and Brother Bruce at the announce desk. Reverend Ash Taylor says Marrow has his own sins to suffer more much like the fans, then apologizes for giving the fans a chance to walk the righteous path, as a shepherd brings his flock home instead of asking them to come home.

Brother Bruce quickly beats CJ Money. After the match, Brother Bruce places CJ Money on the announce desk and holds him down by the arms so that Reverend Ash Taylor can hit CJ Money in the back with his red shinai. Security steps in before Reverend Ash Taylor can do any more damage.

It is announced that "Real1" NZo vs. AJ Francis next week will officially be for the Total Nonstop Action Digital Media Championship as per Matchmaker King Cobra and Total Nonstop Action management.

Too Kool II (Tim Grind and Flex) vs. Sir Matthew and Lord Gaston for the Memphis Wrestling Tag Team Championships ends before it can begin when Matthew and Gaston show up wearing only the tag team belts. This does not matter to Too Kool II, who strip them of the belts and leave them running around - and away - in their underwear, which has each others' faces on them.

Backstage, Assistant Matchmaker Michael finds out from Matchmaker King Cobra that AJ Francis vs. "Real1" NZO will be for the TNA Digital Media Championship, and that "The GunShow" Brett Michaels will be on commentary for today's main event. Meanwhile, J. Webb is spying on them from inside a closet (and taking and handling Michael's coat).

K-Toomer retains the Memphis Wrestling Heritage Championship against Denzel Rollins. During the match, Justin Case and "The Problem Child" Aaron Roberts show up to watch from the announce desk.. After the match, Aaron Roberts throws Denzel Rollins out of the ring before brawling with K-Toomer and hitting him with the Problem Bomb. Despite K-Toomer's demand not to get involved, Brett Michaels gets in the ring and chases Roberts out of the ring. Afterwards, K-Toomer confronts Brett Michaels, and both men have a staredown in the ring.
