Memphis Thing - Memphis Wrestling recap for July 29, 2023

It is revealed that multiple people have been attacked backstage, and that "The Murderhawk Monster" Lance Archer has done it before he makes his way to the announce desk, grabs the microphone, and tells Dustin Starr that this never ends.

"The Murderhawk Monster" quickly beats Brad Skimahorn (and Uncle Phil). After the match, Lance Archer says he is not done and that there is someone else he wants and that when he faces him, it will be like nothing Dustin Starr has seen before when he puts him in a casket.

We hear from Reverend Ash Taylor, who says that a theft was had in "the RighteousCenter" when "The Pope" Elijah Burke stole a victory from him, and that he would not have walked away with it had it not been for Ray Collins. Reverend Ash Taylor says he is sick and tired of being sick and tired of Ray Collins, and next week, "Righteous" Ryan Rembrandt will put him down and Ray Collins will get down on his knees and beg for forgiveness.

Dustin Starr interviews Tim Grind at the announce desk. Tim Grind says he has not heard from Lance McCade and has looked everywhere and talked to everyone that they know, and all he knows is what The Posse (Simon and Mr. Chris) said last week. He says that he and Dustin both know The Posse and begs The Posse to bring Lance out. The Posse's music hits, but The Posse fail to show up. Tim Grind says that if The Posse want to do it the hard way, then he will find them and get his son back, and proclaims that they have until the end of the show to bring Lance back or else he is coming for them.

Derrick King and Ray Ray Sanders retain the Memphis Wrestling Tag Team Championships against The O'Neal Brothers (now identified as Steven and Devin O'Neal) by disqualification after Nixi XS shows up and shoves Ray Ray Sanders off the top rope. After the match, Nixi XS states that The O'Neal Brothers have sent a message: that they are going to dominate, eviscerate and take what is theirs. She says she invests in champions, not mediocrity, as she holds the tag team titles which she states will be going home with The O'Neal Brothers the next time they show up and all Dustin Starr can do is announce it.

We see footage from after last week's show where "The Pope" Elijah Burke admits he did not know much about Ray Collins until he came to him and told him what The Righteous Path was like and that he would have his back if he allowed it. The Pope says he is used to doing things the right way and doing things the wrong way, then says that tonight, they went "All the way, Ray." This leads to an "All The Way Ray" chant as Ray Collins says Reverend Ash Taylor should have killed him when he had the chance and that he is coming after The Righteous Path.

We hear from Mr. Chris. Mr. Chris says they can deal with the disrespect from Tim Grind not saying hello to either him or Simon upon his return, then says that while Simon is busy babysitting, he will meet Tim Grind for a fight and he will see him out there.

We hear from Cassandra Golden, who says that while she lost her #1 contendership to Mackenzie Morgan, she calls it a setback, and while she will have to work harder, she is still "The Golden One" and she will become Memphis Wrestling Women's Champion again.

Cassandra Golden beats Bashley Bones.

We hear from Dr. Tom Prichard, who says that nobody really knows what Memphis Wrestling was like back in the day until one shows up at the WrestleCenter and sees the present. As he talks about being a professional wrestling coach, "The Best of the Best" Austin Lane and "Smokin' Hot" Nikki Lane show up, and Austin Lane declares that he is Memphis Wrestling and that guys like Dr. Tom cannot teach him because he is better than Dr. Tom ever was. When Dr. Tom says he does not want problems, Tim Bosby suddenly steps up to Austin Lane, and Nikki has to hold Austin back. Austin says they will do this on his time.

We hear from Mississippi St. Jude ambassador Murray Collum, who talks about the recent show in New Albany, Mississippi as well as a few local cancer survivors, including his wife, as part of the Rumble on the Trail St. Jude fundraiser on August 19th at Pontotoc, Mississippi.

Mr. Chris beats Tim Grind. During the match, as Tim Grind has Mr. Chris in a chinlock and is getting the information of Lance McCade's whereabouts out of him, Simon shows up with Lance - who is in facepaint - and threatens to break Lance's neck unless Tim Grind lays down for Mr. Chris. Tim Grind reluctantly lays down for Mr. Chris, who gets the win, and Simon lets Lance go as promised. As Tim and Lance are reunited in the ring and Tim Grind calls out The Posse (Simon and Mr. Chris) again, Lance takes off his blue hoodie to reveal a Posse shirt underneath and hits Tim Grind from behind with a low blow. The Posse attack Tim Grind as the show ends.
