Final IMPACT - IMPACT Wrestling recap for July 27, 2023

Before the BTI match, Joe Hendry says it is time to address the elephant in the room and announces that he is no longer Digital Media Champion. He says that he knows everyone is upset, but he must motivate himself, as life is about peaks and valleys as well as good times and bad times, then recites a haiku that reflects the situation: "Sometimes life is good, sometimes life is bad, and sometimes life is so bad you need to quit and become a male stripper." He then says there is a shorter two-word that everyone sings, and that is "I believe," for they believe in Joe Hendry.

Joe Hendry and Yuya Uemura beat Kenny King and Sheldon Jean in the BTI after Joe Hendry clotheslines Sheldon Jean on the outside before Yuya Uemura stacks Kenny King up for the win.

Trinity and Dani Luna beat The Coven (Taylor Wilde and KiLynn King). After the match, "The Virtuosa" Deonna Purrazzo shows up and lets her know that she is getting her championship rematch at Emergence.

Backstage, Lio Rush is met by Brian Myers and Moose. Myers tells Lio Rush that nobody leaves them hanging, but Lio Rush wants to know why they would align themselves with Bully Ray, who shows up and says that all three of them can trust each other. Lio Rush says he is not here to make friends, but Moose butts in and says they all have one common goal and Bully Ray asks Lio Rush if he is with them or against them before demanding an answer at the end of the night.

We hear from Dirty Dango and John E. Bravo. Dango says he does not take Santino Marella seriously at all, then mentions Santino's daughter again. He says that he has John E. Bravo with him as his personal security because Scott D'Amore is "a loose cannon boss" "hitting Canadian Destroyers like he is 25 again" while Director of Authority Santino Marella is hitting people with Cobras.

Johnny Swinger beats "Outlandish" Zicky Dice in a Loser Leaves IMPACT Match and earns a shot at the IMPACT World Championship after letting Zicky Dice ride in the cart after telling him it is his time when Zicky Dice stops the count and tells Swinger to finish the match. Zicky rides the cart, but Johnny clotheslines him and uses the ropes for leverage to get the win.

Backstage, Director of Authority Santino Marella congratulates Yuya Uemura on pinning Kenny King in the BTI Match, and after Santino and Joe Hendry entertain the idea of Yuya as a champion, Yuya proposes a three-way match for the Digital Media title. Hendry agrees to this, and Santino makes the match official for next week.

We hear from "The National Treasure" Nick Aldis, who talks about his match with the returning Eric Young. He says that they are not strangers, but Eric Young has started off on the wrong foot. He says that Eric Young likes tradition will be served traditional humble pie tonight.

"The Quintessential Diva" Gisele Shaw beats Masha Slamovich after Jai Vidal gets on the apron and Killer Kelly pulls her off only to be attacked from behind by Savannah Evans. John Montgomery, long-time host of The Amazing Race Canada, is seen in the crowd during the match.

We hear from Jake Something, who says that he came from nothing and when one is born with dirt, the only way is up. He says that one must be the wild dog chained to the fence ready to break through, and his hard lessons from his father are why he is something.

Backstage, Traci Brooks says she wants five minutes in the ring with Alisha Edwards, but Frankie Kazarian tells Traci that fighting Alisha is not worth it and that he does not want her involved in his war with Eddie Edwards any further.

Time Splitters (KUSHIDA and Alex Shelley) beat Moose and Brian Myers. After the match, Moose and Myers attack Time Splitters, and Bully Ray joins in. "The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander soon runs into the ring, but he is overpowered, and Lio Rush joins in to attack Alex Shelley. All of a sudden, Chris Sabin returns and re-evens the numbers game, and Lio Rush is surrounded in the ring and eventually beaten up and thrown out of the ring by Sabin.

The IMPACT Plus Flashback Moment of the Week is Eric Young vs. Magnus (now Nick Aldis) for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship from the April 10, 2014 episode of IMPACT.

We hear from Alan Angels, who says Heath is the perfect example of somebody who thinks they are like a rock star while he himself is a real-life rock star. He says that Heath is jealous of him and that Heath's career is going downhill, then proposes a match for next week to see how much of a rock star Heath really is.

In backstage footage from last week, The Rascalz (Trey Miguel and Zachary Wentz) make light of their own actions from last week and tell Subculture (Mark Andrews and "Flash" Morgan Webster) to watch out for them. They then mess with "Speedball" Mike Bailey, who tells them that their careers would better off if they did not act like idiots. The Rascalz then mock Mike Bailey and walk away.

Zachary Wentz beats "Speedball" Mike Bailey after Trey Miguel gets ejected for getting physically involved in the match, allowing Wentz to spray paint Mike Bailey in the eyes for the win.

Eric Young beats "The National Treasure" Nick Aldis. After the match, Eric Young is attacked from behind by Deaner and Kon, and Kon choke slams Eric Young before doing it again at Deaner's behest. As they leave, Deaner demands that Kon choke slam Eric Young one more time, which he does. Kon then sends Eric Young to Deaner, who hits Eric Young with the Antidote.
