Those Dynamite Kids - Dynamite LIVE recap for July 12, 2023

Chris Jericho beats Komander after catching Komander out of the air to make him submit to the Walls of Jericho. After the match, Don Callis arrives and congratulates Jericho on his victory before mentioning that the wrestling world is buzzing at their potential partnership, and talks about how they were part of a faction by the late Bad News Allen before showing some footage from that period in time. Jericho says he rememebrs Bad News Allen telling him that he and Callis should always stick together. Callis says they went their separate ways and never kept their promise, but says that Bad News Allen is watching from above to see if Jericho joins him, and while does not want to put pressure on him, Bad News Allen probably knows what Jericho's answer is going to be.

Backstage, Alex Marvez interviews "Jungle Boy" Jack Perry, who says that tonight is "an unsafe working environment." As he says that he does his work in a wrestling ring and not out in the parking lot, Hook somehow gets to Jungle Boy from inside of his vehicle. After the vehicle speeds off, Hook says into the camera "Keep running, Perry."

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Don Callis, who says that later tonight, he will go out to the ring by himself and announce The Blackpool Combat Club's (Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, Jon Moxley) fifth member for the Bloods & Guts Match. He admits he is not a tough guy, but if there is one guy he is not afraid of, it is Kenny Omega, who showed his true colors when he betrayed him and will be "hiding under the skirts of The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson)."

In footage from last week, MJF and Adam Cole have shots at the bar. MJF says Adam Cole has not been a team player, and as they argue over Adam Cole's shirt, four young women pass by. MJF manages to get wtih all four women, then Adam Cole tells him that he has never lost the shirt and that he will wear it if they do what he wants to do next: play AEW Fight Forever, which leads to MJF admitting he does not have any friends. Adam Cole admits he had every intention of blindsiding him at the first opportunity, and MJF says that he planned to do the same thing. The two of them then beat FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) in the video game for the AEW World Tag Team Championships.

The Jericho Appreciation Society (Sammy Guevara and Daniel Garcia) beat Darby Allin and Orange Cassidy to advance in the Blind Tag Team Championship Eliminator Tournament. During the match, Prince Nana shows up and tells Daniel Garcia to knock Orange out with Darby's skateboard. Darby tries to take it away from Garcia, and as Garcia takes it and the referee is pre-occupied with him, Darby is attacked from out of nowhere by Swerve Strickland. This allows Sammy Guevara to hit Darby with the GTH for the win. After the match, Sammy Guevara and Darby Allin shake hands.

We see footage of Nick Wayne in the family wrestling ring where he learned to wrestle. He talks about how he found out how his father Buddy Wayne passed away from his mother and wondering what would happen next, and how he trained for himself so he could become a professional wrestler for himself and for his father. As for whether he is ready or not for All Elite Wrestling, Nick Wayne says he has been ready to do this his entire life and he knew that professional wrestling was there for him.

Backstage, Renee Paquette tries to interview Adam Cole, who is met by Roderick Strong. Roderick is amazed that Cole can tolerate MJF, but Cole says MJF is not half bad of a person as he asks Roderick Strong to trust him. Cole then has to call MJF to tell him that he is not sick when MJF sends a text saying he sees "The Machine" Brian Cage in the hallway.

MJF and Adam Cole beat Big Bill and "The Machine" Brian Cage to advance in the Blind Tag Team Championship Eliminator Tournament. After the match, MJF plugs the new "Better Than You Bay Bay" shirt, then says that the double clothesline is coming. This leads to a "double clothesline" chant from the fans, then Cole says that never in his wildest dream did he expect the both of them to work as a tag team, and not only has it worked, but they are doing "pretty damn good." Cole admits he did not have high expectations, but he does have high expectations on winning the tournament, and if they do, they get a shot at the AEW World Tag Team Championships. Cole states that if he and MJF stay on the same page, they will become the AEW World Tag Team Champions.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Jake Hager outside of Chris Jericho's locker room. Hager shakes hands with Jericho and congratulates him with the win, then asks Jericho if he is considering a partnership with Don Callis. Jericho admits Don Callis has made a lot of good points, but he needs some time. Hager takes off his hat and says it was a great moment, but the two of them also have history, and he has to know, as his career is on the line along with Jericho's, and until Jericho is straight with him, he cannot give him 100%. He then hands Jericho his purple bucket hat and leaves.

Ruby Soho beats Skye Blue to advance to the finals of the women's Owen Hart Foundation Tournament after working Skye Blue's knee throughout the match and despite Toni Storm and Saraya being ejected from ringside for getting physically involved in the match.

Backstage, QT Marshall, Harley Cameron and Aaron Solo show the world premiere of Harley's new song "Rap Class," a diss track aimed at The Acclaimed ("Platinum" Max Caster, Anthony Bowens, "Daddy Ass" Billy Gunn).

Swerve Strickland beats the debuting Nick Wayne.

Don Callis heads to the ring alone. Callis says that The Blackpool Combat Club's (Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, Jon Moxley) fifth member for the Bloods & Guts Match is going to "slaughter The Elite (Matt Jackson, Nick Jackson, Kenny Omega, "Hangman" Adam Page), and that Kenny Omega is the most deserving of this abuse, as "the real Kenny Omega" is nothing more than "a coward and a punk." Kenny Omega shows up, and Jon Moxley and Konosuke Takeshita show up out of nowhere. All of a sudden, Omega is hit from behind with a chair by PAC, who has not been seen in AEW in months. PAC joins in on the attack on Omega, and Don Callis even gets a free shot in. PAC tells Omega that he has no idea how long he has waited for this after shattering his nose and costing him a championship, then announces that he is the fifth member and that Omega will pay the price. Takeshita and Moxley wrap the chair around Omega's neck as PAC goes up top, and Moxley says asks Omega if he has any last words before they wipe the smile off his face permanently. Omega says his team has a fifth member, too: Kota Ibushi. The lights go out when Ibushi's involvement is announcement, and when they come back on, The Young Bucks and Hangman take out Moxley and Takeshita. Adam Page then says that next week, they will settle things once and for all. Omega says that the match will be about heart, passion, soul, friendship and love and that Don Callis will not win this battle, and next week, his team will find out that two rings and a little bit of barbed wire will not be enough, and that he will be coming for Don Callis.
