Honor Roll - Ring of Honor recap for July 6, 2023

Komander beats Gringo Loco.

Backstage, Lexy Nair interviews Big Bill and Lee Moriarty. Lee Moriarty says that since The Firm has ended, it is time to for everyone to open their eyes and stop sleeping. He says they have been picking up win after win like loose change from a strip club and that they will keep this going against The Boys (Brandon and Brent Tate). Big Bill says The Boys are not their boys and that they had better not be Lexy's boys. He hopes they are boys with God, because after tonight, they will need Him. He says they will prance their way to the ring before he and Moriarty squash them like the bugs they are and go on to win tag team gold.

Daniel Garcia beats "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels after kicking the bottom rope as Daniels makes his way back into the ring before using Angel's Wings against him. After the match, Garcia dances with referee Aubrey Edwards, much to Aubrey's chagrin.

Backstage, Lexy Nair interviews Willie Mack. Willie Mack says he plans to win the $25,000 six-way scramble match, and he plans to buy himself a capybara, a chinchilla, and a ticket to Jamaica to try some authentic jerk chicken. He then says that he has five fingers and that they will go across the faces of his five opponents.

Gates of Agony (Kaun and Toa Liona) beat Action Andretti and Darius Martin. During the match, Prince Nana gets on the apron, distracting the referee as Action Andretti goes for a pinfall victory. This gives Gates of Agony enough time to recover and get the win.

The Righteous (Vincent and Dutch) and Stu Grayson quickly beat Zak Patterson, Macrae Martin and Rip Impact in a six-man tag match.

Lee Moriarty and Big Bill beat The Boys (Brandon and Brent Tate).

Athena beats Seleziya Sparx in an ROH Women's World Championship Proving Ground Match. After the match, Athena attacks Seleziya Sparx again and chases the referee out of the ring before planting Seleziya face first on the ROH Women's World Championship.

Before the next match, "The Premier Athlete" Tony Nese tells JD Drake that he thinks he is an excellent wrestler, but is one serving of poutine and donuts from Tim Horton's from looking like the rest of the Canadian crowd. He then tells Drake that he has some great news, and that being a personal trainer, instead of having a match tonight, there will be group training with everyone in the crowd tonight instead. Drake takes the microphone and tells him that while he understands he is trying to help him, he is not wasting his calories on the "trash-ass" food in Canada and that it is Dunkin' Donuts and freedom fries for him, then tells him not to let the physique fool him as he will whip his ass. Mark Briscoe then shows up and says that nobody gives a damn what Drake or Nese think and that the match is officially a three-way dance.

Mark Briscoe beats "The Premier Athlete" Tony Nese and JD Drake in a triple threat match.

We hear from Eddie Kingston. Kingston brags about winning the New Japan Pro Wrestling Strong Champion and entering the G1 Climax, which keeps him from being at Death Before Dishonor. He then says Claudio Castagnoli is not off the hook, and he then addresses Mark Briscoe. Eddie talks about wearing Jay Briscoe's shirt while teaming with Rocky "Azucar" Romero to respect Jay's legacy, and now it is Mark's turn to respect his legacy by being the Ring of Honor World Champion. He says that he and the people need Mark Briscoe to not just go after the Ring of Honor World Championship, but to have the Briscoe legacy live on, for it is Mark's time.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Mark Briscoe. Mark Briscoes says he wants this opportunity and that it is his time, and while he has always talked about winning the Television title, it is time to follow in his brother Jay Briscoe's footsteps and become a world champion. Claudio Castagnoli shows up and advises Mark not to listen to Eddie Kingston, as he had to show Eddie his limits and he will show Mark his limits as well. He asks where the Mark Briscoe he knew is, and says that Mark has stood side by side with his brother, not in his footsteps, proving that time has made Mark weak and has proven that he has not manned up. Claudio then says time has made him hard and what he is today, and that Mark cannot reach the heights that he has. He then says that if he has to pull him down to earth while he reaches for the sky, then so be it, for it is his duty to show him his limits. Claudio tells Mark that if he really wants the match, he will shake his hand. Both men shake hands, then Claudio tells him that he will see him at Death Before Dishonor before advising him not to get his hopes up, because he is not ready.

Diamante beats Vanessa Kraven.

"The Machine" Brian Cage beats Willie Mack, Dalton Castle, Trent Seven, "The Technical Beast" Josh Woods and Shane Taylor in a $25,000 six-man scramble match.

Before the next match, Maria Kanellis-Bennett reintroduces herself as "The First Lady of Professional Wrestling" and announces that this is her first match in five years. She says that while the fans are excited to see her wrestle, she is not medically cleared to compete tonight, and because she is all about opportunity, Trish Adora has the opportunity to face a real shooter: "Legit" Layla Hirsch, who has not been out of action for some time following a knee injury.

The Kingdom (Matt Taven and Mike Bennett) and "Legit" Leyla Hirsch beat The Infantry ("The Captain" Shawn Dean and "Bad News and Tattoos" Carlie Bravo) and Trish Adora in a six-person tag match with a cross arm breaker from Hirsch to Adora.

Backstage, Lexy Nair interviews "Legit" Leyla Hirsch. Hirsch says The Kingdom needed somebody legit for tonight and get the job done, and she showed up and got the job done. She says that she here to stay in Ring of Honor, which is known for innovation and high flying, then says that she is a legit shooter and wishes good luck to anyone who wants to fly through her.

Here is the recap for tonight's show!
