Honor Roll - Ring of Honor recap for July 27, 2023

The third judge in the next match, which is a Pure Rules Match, is ROH Pure Champion Katsuyori Shibata. Also, "Smart" Mark Sterling introduces "The Technical Beast" Josh Woods as someone "who would rather wrestler in front of real ones instead of all the fake ones from Newark[, New Jersey]."

"The Technical Beast" Josh Woods beats Eli Isom by submission in a Pure Rules Match. After the match, "Smart" Mark Sterling declares that Josh Woods should be the face of the Pure Division due to his past amateur wrestling accomplishments before telling Katsuyori Shibata that Woods can take his head off any time he wants before challenging him to a Pure Championship match next week. Shibata gets in the ring and has a staredown with Woods in the middle of the ring. Sterling then tells Shibata that they do nothing without contracts before leading Woods out of the ring.

In backstage footage from earlier today, Lexy Nair interviews Trish Adora. Trish admits she came up short at Death Before Dishonor, and while she used to let losses define her, these days, all she can think about is redemption for herself, The Infantry ("The Captain" Shawn Dean and "Bad News and Tattoos" Carlie Bravo) and Ring of Honor.

Trish Adora beats Vita Von Starr.

The Mogul Embassy ("The Machine" Brian Cage, Bishop Kaun, Toa Liona) retain the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championships against The Iron Savages (Boulder and Bronson) and Jacked Jameson.

"Legit" Leyla Hirsch beats B3CCA.

Backstage, Lexy Nair interviews Athena, who demands that Lexy tell the cowards in the locker room to step up, as she is tired of beating jobbers and "porcelain hussies" and she wants better talent.

The Renegades (Charlette and Robyn Renegade) beat Tiara James and JC.

Athena beats Christina Marie in an ROH Women's World Championship Proving Ground Match. After the match, Athena throws Christina Marie out of the ring and attacks her again.

The Kingdom (Matt Taven and Mike Bennett) beat Rhett Titus and "Hot Sauce" Tracy Williams.

Backstage, Lexy Nair interviews Samoa Joe and executive board member Stokely Hathaway. Stokely announces that he has spoken to Jerry Lynn and Tony Khan, and that there will be an Eliminator Tournament for the ROH World Television Championship. On the subject of favoritism being shown towards Joe, Joe says that Stokely makes his own decision and that nobody tells him what to do, and Stokely insists that he is part of the baord and that whatever he says goes at the behest of Joe.

"The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels beats JD Drake to advance in the ROH World Television Championship Eliminator Tournament.

Big Bill and Lee Moriarty beat Primal Fear (Gabriel Hodder and Adrien Soriano).

Before the next match, "The Premier Athlete" Tony Nese says the fans are in the crowd and he is in the ring because his body is championship material and he will have the hardware to back it up. Nese considers it fitting that his opponent is named "Cheeseburger," as the fans would cheer when he mentions a fattening food. He mentions cheeseburgers are destroying the country, leading to a "Cheeseburger" chant, and Nese states that befoe he throws Cheeseburger in the trash, he will help the fans burn the cheeseburgers they have been stuffing down their gullets all day with group training, starting with some stretching. When Nese gets to the jumping jacks, Cheeseburger shows up for the next match.

"The Premier Athlete" Tony Nese beats Cheeseburger to advance in the ROH World Television Championship Eliminator Tournament following the distraction by "Smart" Mark Sterling.

Gravity beats Anthony Henry to advance in the ROH World Television Championship Eliminator Tournament.

Shane Taylor beats Serpentico to advance in the ROH World Television Championship Eliminator Tournament.

Dalton Castle and The Boys (Brandon and Brent Tate) beat The Trust Busters (Sonny Kiss, Jeeves Kay, Slim J) in a six-man tag match.
