Backstage, Shelton Benjamin is met by R-Truth. R-Truth says that Shelton Benjamin will finally loosen up after his win last week, but Shelton Benjamin says he did not say that and that he would loosen up if he took last week's match seriously. Shelton then says he takes things seriously because he has already had his fun when he debuted back in 2002 and that all the veterans told him to take things seriously. He then says he now has more years behind me than in front of me, and if he is not serious, he may never get another opportunity, and he will not go out like that. He also says that he refers to himself as a former champion to remind himself that he used to be "The Gold Standard," but now he is "just Shelton."
Backstage, Duke Hudson is talkin to Dana Brooke when Cedric Alexander shows up. Duke Hudson introduces himself as the man who will embarrass him tonight. Cedric reminds him that he is a former tag team champion, but Hudson says he is not impressed and that he has what it takes to be "the WWE Superstar" and that nobody will stand in his way.
Cedric Alexander beats Duke Hudson.
