Fight For The Fallen - AEW Dynamite recap for July 27, 2022

William Regal guests on commentary for the next match.

Jon Moxley retains the Interim AEW World Championship against Rush with the bulldog choke. After the match, The Jericho Appreciation Society shows up. Chris Jericho congratulates Jon Moxley on his win, but says his roll is nothing compared to the one that the Society is on and that Daniel Garcia and Sammy Guevara will win their respective matches. Anna Jay says that she is "the new Anna Jay" as in "Anna J.A.S." and says she is not afraid to prove she is the sexiest as well as the toughest by choking people out. Jericho then says that while Eddie Kingston brutalized him in their barbed wire match last week, he beat him, and he will beat Jon Moxley. He then demands a match for the Interim AEW World Championship in two weeks so he can become champion again. Moxley says he hates Jericho and his sports entertainment gimmick, that he is a real two-time world champion and that he used to look up to Jericho until everything he had going on became pathetic. He also calls his title a wrestling championship and not a sports entertainment championship, and tells him to leave the sports entertainment gimmick at home as he wants "The Lionheart" and "the last survivor of The Hart Dungeon." Moxley then says he is the champion and that anyone else but the best need not apply.

We get our first look at the AEW World Trios Championships and learn that there will be a World Trios Championships tournament coming soon.

Backstage, Tony Schiavone interviews Dante Martin, who says that Sammy Guevara knows he cannot hack it on the roster after taking too many vacations while he has worked week in and week out. He then announces that Skye Blue will be in his corner as a counter to Tay Conti.

"Absolute" Ricky Starks quickly retains the FTW Championship against Danhausen. After the match, Starks says Danhausen may be very nice and very evil, but he is not absolute. He then demands another challenger and promises that he is game to face someone else right now. That challenge is answered by Hook.

Hook beats "Absolute" Ricky Starks with Redrum to become the FTW Champion. After the match, both men fistbump. After the commercial break, Tony Schiavone interviews "Absolute" Ricky Starks and Powerhouse Hobbs. Starks admits he lost against Hook, then says he turned the FTW Championship from a noose into a tie and brought it back to prominence. Starks says that he gave no less than 110% and that he deserves to talk to the fans for more than 40 seconds, saying that his time is right now. As he says his bad luck is just bad timing, Hobbs lays out Starks from behind. Hobbs then hits Starks with a spinebuster.

We hear from The Acclaimed ("Platinum" Max Caster and Anthony Bowens). Max Caster says they roasted The Gunn Club (Billy, Austin and Colten Gunn) in a rap battle only to get attacked, and this week, they will roast them again. Anthony Bowens then says that on Friday, he and Caster will take out the trash, and Max Caster teases a new music video.

Sammy Guevara beats Dante Martin following the distraction by Tay Conti. After the match, Sammy and Tai attack Dante, and when Sammy goes to the top rope, Skye Blue confronts him only for Tay to confront Skye. Anna Jay runs into the ring and attacks Skye from behind, then she and Anna gang up on her. Ruby Soho, Eddie Kingston and Ortiz then run into the ring and chase Sammy, Tay and Anna away.

Backstage, Tony Schiavone interviews Daniel Garcia, who asks where Bryan Danielson has been while he has been getting sharper and better in the ring. He says that if Bryan hesitates, he will send him back home and he will be called the greatest technical sports entertainer of all time.

We hear from Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt and Satnam Singh. Letal says they have unfinished business with Best Friends, then Best Friends shows up and say their dance card is empty and that Sonjay does not have what it takes anymore. This gets Sonjay Dutt so riled up that he challenges Best Friends to a six-man tag match, much to the surprise of himself, much less Lethal and Singh.

Tony Schiavone interviews Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus in the ring. Jungle Boy calls Christian Cage the biggest pussy he has ever met in his entire life, and that he has watched him come out for weeks to talk bullshit about his family to become the most relevant he has ever been in his entire career. He then says Christian tucked his tail and ran as soon as he returned, and says that for someone wrestling as long as Christian Cage has, losing out in a battle royal and the money from it a year ago should not be a big deal. Jungle Boy then says he realized that Christian Cage needed the money because his wife "divorced his bitch ass." He says that Chrisian Cage got Luchasaurus to protect him, but Luchasaurus is also his best friend. He then dares Christian Cage to talk shit and hit him in the head with a chair, and as Jungle Boy continues to speak, Christian interrupts on the video screen. Christian tells Luchasaurus that he made a mistake after he guided him to where he could have been, and says Luchasaurus threw everything away to be "Jungle Boy's lap dog." He also says he ran away from Jungle Boy because of what he would do to him and that the one-man Con-Chair-To is nothing, then says the next thing he will drape on him is a bodybag when he buries him next to his father. Christian then mentions that Jungle Boy told him all his secrets, and now, he will prey on his weakness.

Backstage, Brandon Cutler tells The Young Bucks about the AEW World Trios Championship Tournament and wants to be the third man. Suddenly, Adam Page shows up, but as Matt Jackson wants to talk to him, The Dark Order interrupts.

Swerve Strickland beats "The Premier Athlete" Tony Nese and "Smart" Mark Sterling in a two-on-one handicap match. After the match, it is revealed that "The Technical Beast" Josh Woods has attacked Keith Lee from behind. Swerve sees the video screen and finds out what has happened, then Nese attacks Swerve from behind.

We hear from Malakai Black. He tells Miro that the world is a giant hoax in which people worship celebrities who add nothing of value, then says that this is where men like them come in. He says that Miro has always worshipped a throne, but he can make it so Miro can sit on that throne. Brody King shows up and says he attacks Darby Allin because he can and that it will not stop until the casket drops. Brody then challenges Darby to a coffin match, then tells him what flowers he wants on his tombstone.

Thunder Rosa retains the AEW Women's World Championship against Miyu Yamashita.

Daniel Garcia beats Bryan Danielson in Danielson's first match in months with the Sharpshooter after a hand grabs Danielson's leg from underneath the ring. After the match, it is revealed that Jake Hager is the man behind the mystery hand before Chris Jericho congratulates Garcia.
