Fyter Fest, Week One - Dynamite recap for July 13, 2022

Wardlow retains the TNT Championship against Orange Cassidy after countering an Orange Punch with a powerbomb. After the match, Wardlow picks Orange Cassidy up and both men fistbump.

Chris Jericho heads to the ring. Jericho says he stands in front of the fans right now as a living legend and Eddie Kingston's superior, then says he did not make Kingston a liar and says that everything Eddie does for friendship turns to mold. He says that a friendship with Eddie Kingston is worse than any curse could ever conjure up, as The Jericho Appreciation Society has taken all of his friends out of action, then says Eddie should have taken care of "his Ruby [Soho]." He also says that Eddie Kingston wants him in a Barbed Wire Everywhere match because he is "a mark for Terry Funk" and that he has never had one while he won his first one early in his career and felt pleasure from it. Jericho goes on to say that Eddie Kingston underestimates him and that he will be facing "The Painmaker," not Chris Jericho. He accepts Eddie's challenge because it is their final fight and because he can send Eddie back into his hole. He also says that Eddie will never be at his level, and if he wants bloodshed, he has got it, and if Eddie wants his blood, then he wants Eddie's blood in a tidal wave so large that the animals on Noah's Ark would be jealous. Jericho then tells Eddie "You're not a liar. You're a loser."

Backstage, Eddie Kingston tells Chris Jericho to bring the most violent person he can brings, because it will not matter and that he will hurt him and enjoy it.

William Regal guests on commentary for the next match.

Jon Moxley retains the AEW Interim World Championship against Konosuke Takeshita.

We hear from Julia Hart, who says that Darby Allin can make whatever he choice he wants but that he cannot run from the consequences. Malakai Black shows up and says choices are like venom and that Darby Allin will suffer the agony of that venom. Brody King shows up and says that he does not need anything and that he has watched him ascend, and he is now getting his by taking Darby's.

Christian Cage and Luchasaurus show up. Christian mocks The Varsity Blonds and says that unlike Jungle Boy's father, Brian Pillman Jr.'s father was a legend, and that he respects the blood he spilled even though he was "average at best." After calling Pillman Jr. the last legacy that Brian Pillman left in professional wrestling, Christian then mentions that Griff Garrison looks like Jungle Boy and asks Luchasaurus if he does.

Luchasaurus beats Griff Garrison with his own version of Jungle Boy's Snare Trap, now called the Tar Pit. After the match, Luchasaurus headbutts Brian Pillman Jr., then puts him on the timekeeper's table before choke slamming Garrison into Pillman Jr. He then does it again, and the table breaks the second time around.

Backstage, Tony Schiavone interviews Daniel Garcia, "Magic Daddy" Matt Menard and "Cool Hand" Angelo Parker. Menard and Parker are not happy about a shark cage being involved in their match, then leave. Garcia says he will take the ROH Pure Title from William Yuta at Death Before Dishonor.

Backstage, Tony Schiavone interviews "Hangman" Adam Page. John Silver and Alex Reynolds show up and issue a challenge to The House of Black for eliminating Page from the recent battle royal.

Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. and Jamie Hayter suddenly show up, then Baker says AEW is a natural disaster without her and Hayter says that the two of them are well-versed in handling a thunderstorm. Rebel then shows up and hands Baker a sandbag, which Baker hands to Schiavone.

Serena Deep beats Anna Jay with the Serenity Lock. After the match, Mercedes Martinez shows up and tosses Serena Deeb out of the ring.

Backstage, Tony Schiavone interviews Stokely Hathaway and The Baddies (Jade Cargill, Kiera Hogan, Leila Grey). Stokely Hathaway says that Leila Grey is for The Baddies like "Wu-Tang is for the children," then says that they will be watching Athena and Kris Statlander.

At the commentary table, Jay Lethal shows up with Sonjay Dutt and Satnam Singh. Lethal says he will remove the ROH World Television Championship from Samoa Joe and that his student will embarrass him.

Backstage in the trainer's room, Tay Conti mocks Anna Jay for potentially getting injured, and says that while she likes her, Anna Jay needs to make better choices for her career.
