Memphis Thing - Memphis Wrestling recap for July 9, 2022

Pete Pranica guests on commentary for this week.

In backstage footage from moments ago, The Posse (Simon and Mr. Chris) tie and chain up Briar Skimahorn.

The Skimahorns (Uncle Mikey and Brad Skimahorn) beat The Posse (Simon and Mr. Chris) to bring Briar Skimahorn home after Kid Wrestling frees Briar Skimahorn from his chains backstage. Briar distracts the posse, and that allows Brad and Mikey to win with dual roll-ups.

Dustin Starr interviews "Big Trouble" Ben Bishop at the announce desk. Bishop says he is here in Memphis to "make big man stuff matter again," then Martin shows up for the first time in some time and punches Bishop in the face only to get punched back. Martin and Bishop brawl, and security and officials have to hold both men back.

Van Viciouss beats Derrick King with a schoolkid pin while grabbing the tights after Derrick King takes out The Hollywood Clique's security before threatening to punch out Blaylock.

We see Buff Bagwell making his way into the WrestleCenter.

"Outlandish" Zicky Dice retains the Memphis Wrestling Internet Championship against "Remarkable" Ryan Rembrandt.

Dustin Starr interviews Buff Bagwell at the announce desk. Buff talks about "Rebuilding Buff" and how he is reconnecting with the fans in towns he has been in in the past, including Memphis, and has focused on getting back to good health and making more appearances. He then brings out Big John Dalton, a big Buff Bagwell fan and a 17-year-old trainee at the WrestleCenter, who comes out to great crowd applause. We also see pictures of John as a kid with Buff Bagwell. After saying that he looks forward to what Big John Dalton can do in Memphis Wrestling, he then mentions Mike Anthony, saying that he does not like a bully and that he wants a few words with him. It is not long before Mike Anthony arrives. Buff Bagwell says that Mike Anthony is championship material, but tells him he does not have to be a bully and that he could be a little more professional, then tells him to stop the bullying or else he will come back. Mike Anthony says not even the nWo can hold him back, and that whether it is is 2022 or 1996, "Buff still ain't enough." He tells Buff Bagwell he can either get out - before throwing the Heritage Championship into the ring - or get hurt. King Cobra steps in and tells Buff he will take care of everything, then Mike Anthony punches him before shoving Dustin into the announce desk. Cobra then punches Mike Anthony and attacks him around the ring. The show ends as Mike Anthony has King Cobra in the ring, and after a few shots from Anthony as the brawl continues on YouTube, King Cobra recovers and starts beating Mike Anthony up again until Anthony hits King Cobra with a low blow. Mike Anthony pulls a chain out from inside of his shirt, wraps it around his left hand and knocks King Cobra out.
