After Dark - AEW Dark recap for July 19, 2022

Jora Johl beats Luke Sampson.

Lee Moriarty beats Ren Jones with the Border City Stretch.

Backstage, Lexi Nair interviews Fuego del Sol, who says that he is fired up about his match against QT Marshall and that "mic work is light work." He says nobody holds a candle to him, and that while his opponent Marshall is loud and obnoxious, he is talented, and he can understand why he made an offer to join The Factory. He says that as sweet as the offer is, it would be just as satisfying to drop QT Marshall once and for all and burn The Factory (Marshall, Nick Comoroto, Aaron Solo) to the ground.

Serena Deeb beats Viva Van. After the match, Serena puts Viva Van in the Serenity Lock.

Marina Shafir beats Amber Nova with Greed.

Konosuke Takeshita beats Anthony Henry.

Jonathan Gresham beats Jordan Oasis by submission.

Wheeler Yuta beats Bryce Donovan. After the match, Tony Schiavone interviews Yuta, who says that Daniel Garcia is a "cosplay pro wrestler" and that it is getting more and more personal between himself and The Jericho Appreciation Society. He says that a Pure Rules Match is no place for a sports entertainer and that it will be just the two out of them in a fight and that he will leave a scar that will remind Garcia of their Pure Rules Match.

Danhausen beats Jake Something with an inside cradle.

The Renegade Twins (Charlette and Robyn Renegade) beat Avery Breaux and Valentina Rossi after switching places behind the referee's back. After the match, Tony Schiavone interviews The Renegade Twins, who insist that they did not cheat before stating that they are here to make a mark and daring the women's division to come get some.

Mercedes Martinez beats J-Rod with the Brass City Sleeper. After the match, Serena Deeb shows up and stares her down from the stage/

The Varsity Blonds (Griff Garrison and Brian Pillman Jr.) beat Terrence and Terrell Hughes.

QT Marshall beats Fuego del Sol following two Diamond Cutters.

Before the next match, Jay Lethal introduces his student Logan Cruz, who is also his opponent tonight. He says that they they have a great student-teacher relationship - unlike himself and Samoa Joe - because Logan Cruz respects and appreciates his trainer and knows that he would never manipulate or exploit him in any way. As a result, he has hand-picked Logan Cruz to warm up for Samoa Joe, then informs him that this is going to hurt him more than it will hurt Logan.

Jay Lethal beats Logan Cruz with the Figure Four Leg Lock following a Dragon Screw leg whip from the top rope. After the match, Tony Schiavone interviews Lethal, who says Samoa Joe is making Christopher Daniels look like "a world-class idiot" and that Daniels should be careful what he says to him, for he is about to become a sacrificial lamb led to the slaughter and nobody can change the fact that he will become the next ROH World Television Champion. He also says Samoa Joe cannot lift his arm over his head because he is in a world of hurt, then says that he deserves it and that he will finally get his revenge when the student surpasses the teacher. He also says that Samoa Joe will not be proud when it happens, because he is an egomaniac and a user and soon to be a loser.

Daniel Garcia beats Alan "5" Angels in a Pure Rules Match with a sleeper on the top rope after exhausting all of Angels' rope breaks. After the match, Garcia puts Angels in the Sharpshooter until Wheeler Yuta shows up and chases Garcia out of the ring. Garcia tries to go for a cheap shot on Yuta, but Yuta catches him out and makes Garcia think better of it. As Garcia runs away, Wheeler Yuta hits him with a tope suicida and beats him up before the referee breaks things up.
