Final Impact - Impact Wrestling recap for July 7, 2022

"The Quintessential Diva" Gisele Shaw beats Alisha Edwards in the BTI Match.

"Speedball" Mike Bailey retains the Impact X Division Championship againt Alan Angels (who is now on the independent circuit following the expiration of his All Elite Wrestling contract). After the match, Bailey and Angels shake hands, then Deaner and Joe Doering run in and attack both men. Doering lays out Angels with a clothesline, and Deaner hits Bailey with a Deaner DDT. Deaner tells "The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander that it is not over until he and Doering says it is, then tells him to come out to the ring right now. Eric Young shows up for the first time since Slammiversary. After the commercial break, Eric Young asks Deaner "What happened? How did we end up here?" He says that this was not designed by him or part of his design, and that he is the designer. Deaner says that he thought this was what Eric Young wanted and that it was part of the mission, and when Eric Young did not do, they thought Joe Doering could do it. Eric Young says Doering was undefeated and one of the most feared men in wrestling, but now, it is clear that the sickness has taken hold of both of them, and he thought that they were different and the rest of the "diseased individuals." He says he thought their vision was clear, then says that the fans do not know the truth and that they are "useless." He says that he does not have much of a choice other than to purge them, then Deaner tells Eric Young is correct. Deaner says that Eric Young is right in saying that he is the designer and that their vision is clear, and asks Eric Young for a chance to make this right. Eric Young tells Deaner that from here on out, the world belongs to him, not to them.

Backstage, Honor No More meet. Mike Bennett says they are here to spread a message while bound by circumstance, then says that Impact does not want them here because they are the problem, not Honor No More. Kenny King says they are the truth, and for that, Impact and other wrestling companies want to stop them every step of the way. He says Impact tried to stop them before, but they cannot stop them now. Maria Kanellis-Bennett says that they cannot tolerate setbacks or failure, and Eddie Edwards that if Honor No More wants to complete their mission, PCO will have to decide how much he believes their mission, and must understand failure is no longer an option.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviews Chelsea Green and "The Virtuosa" Deonna Purrazzo. Purrazzo says her match with Mia Yim is a long time coming after she attacked her to seek relevancy, and tonight, Mia Yim will find out what happens when someone messes with her. Chelsea Green says that when one messes with Purrazzo, they mess with her, and they will put the women's division on notice. Gail Kim shows up and says she loves their partnership, then puts Chelsea in a match with Mickie James in which no one is allowed at ringside. She also mentions that no one is allowed at ringside during Purrazzo's match.

Trey Miguel beats Laredo Kid despite a hurt left knee.

The Impact Plus Ric Flair Moment of the Week is "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair's TNA debut from the January 4, 2010 episode of Impact.

Backstage, Deaner and Joe Doering go on the attack as they hunt for "The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander. Gia Miller calls for security. They run into The Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley) and start a brawl, and security quickly steps in. As this happens, Josh Alexander shows up wanting a piece of Deaner.

We see a vignette for Killer Kelly, who is coming soon to Impact.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviews America's Most Wanted ("The Cowboy" James Storm and "Wildcat" Chris Harris). Storm says he and Harris did not know they would reunite, as Harris' journey is a lot more different than his. Harris says Against All Odds will be a night he will never forget, as everything that needed to come out did. He says that he could not ask for more than to fight alongside Storm, and if this is their last right, this is the way he wants to go out. Storm then says that none knows for sure where or when he will show up, then says he has some unfinished business. Storm then heads to Moose's locker room but finds Steve Maclin. Steve Maclin says that Against All Odds was Storm's "retirement match," then Storm challenges Maclin to a match next week.

PCO beats Black Taurus. After the match, Honor No More celebrates with PCO, and as Honor No More corner Crazy Steve as he protects Black Taurus, Heath shows up from behind and hits Kenny King with a Wake-Up Call and flees into the crowd.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviews Bullet Club ("The Big LG" Doc Gallows, "Machine Gun" Karl Anderson, Chris Bey, "Inevitable" Ace Austin). Anderson says Honor No More has enough issues as it is, and Gallows says Honor No More starts fights but cannot finish them. Chris Bey says that when they are in the ring with Honor No More, they eat their lunch. Ace Austin says he is starving for action and that this is the perfect opportunity to get into some business with Bullet Club. The rest of Bullet Club agree and decide to face Honor No More in a match next week.

Backstage, Brian Myers approaches Swinger's Dungeon and calls Zicky Dice "an idiot," but Zicky says he learned more from Swinger - who wants a shot at the Digital Media title - than he did from Myers. Bhupinder Gujjar shows up and congratulates Myers on winning the Digital Media title, then wants a shot at the title. Myers tells him and Swinger to have a match next week. They agree, then Swinger offers Bhupinder a tuition discount, which he refuses.

Rich Swann beats Shera.

Backstage, Tennille Dashwood wants to know from "The Quintessential Diva" Gisele Shaw why Masha Slamovich is targeting her. Gisele Shaw says that Masha wants to destroy Tennille and that she has been avoiding Masha. Madison Rayne tells Gisele she is on thin ice.

Backstage, Rosemary tells Taya Valkyrie that while they are still Knockouts Tag Team Championships, they still need Havok, and once again, they will have to go to the Undead Realm to find Havok. Rosemary reminds Taya that she has to go there alone, as people die in the Undead Realm if they are lucky. Taya says that friends go together, and Rosemary reluctantly agrees that they will find Havok next week.

Mia Yim beats "The Virtuosa" Deonna Purrazo to become #1 contender for the Impact Knockouts World Championship at Emergence. After the match, Jordynne Grace shows up and congratulates Mia Yim, then shakes her hand.
