Memphis Thing - Memphis Wrestling recap for July 16, 2022

Mike Anthony arrives to start today's show. He calls the fans "disrespectful," then says he showed Buff Bagwell who really is the stuff last week and that his star power did not intimidate him. He also says that he is not intimidated by Buff's threats. As for King Cobra, he put him down when he stood up for his trainees, and says that the thought makes his blood boil. Suddenly, he sees Big John Dalton and wants to know where Buff is. A member of security steps in only to get slammed, then Mike Anthony drags Big John Dalton in the ring and attacks him. Dalton fights back, but Mike Anthony overpowers him. Mike Anthony pretends to leave, then gets back in the ring and attacks John Dalton again. He then produces a table from underneath the ring. After the very short commercial break, he sets up the table, but as he is about to put Dalton through the table, "The GunShow" Brett Michaels runs in and attacks Mike Anthony. The two of them brawl in the ring and Brett hits an inverted atomic drop, but when he goes for the GunShow Lariat, Mike Anthony runs away. Brett then checks on Big John Dalton. After another very short commercial break, Dustin Starr interviews Brett, who says that he knows Mike Anthony is paying people to take him out while he disrespects the trainees, then says today is the day and that he is coming for him.

Backstage, Mackenzie Morgan interviews Nyxx, who says she is excited to be here and put her name out there. She plans to put the Memphis Women's Championship around her waist.

Rebel Kel beats Shalonce Royal with a schoolkid pin when Shalonce Royal showboats.

Backstage, Mackenzie Morgan interviews Derrick King. He asks what a king has to do to get a one-on-one match with Van Viciouss when he has so many people surrounding him, and dares Van Viciouss to face him one-on-one and to name the date so he will be there.

Dustin Starr interviews The Hollywood Clique. "Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock says he hates crybabies and that Derrick King is the biggest crybaby of all before calling Derrick King out. Derrick King soon shows up. Blaylock tells Derrick King that he hates his guts and that he is nothing but a crybaby, then says the ball is in his court. When he asks Derrick how badly wants, Derrick King says Van Viciouss is sweating and hiding behind him. As Blaylock provides a stipulation, Derrick King tells Blaylock he is a big, fat liar and that everyone knows it. After Viciouss says that he owns Memphis, Blaylock tells Derrick that if he loses, he will have to be Viciouss' assistant. Derrick says he knows he can beat Viciouss one-on-one any day, and says Viciouss will be his assistant before long.

"Casanova" Colton Cage beats Kid Wrestling.

The Posse (Simon and Mr. Chris) retain the Memphis Wrestling Tag Team Championships after Simon uses the ropes for leverage.

"The GunShow" Brett Michaels shows up, then says today is the day and the time is now before getting in the ring. Instead of getting Mike Anthony, Brett gets Money Mark. Money Mark gives Brett a lot of credit for having guts but no brains, then says there will be no "GunShows" in Memphis after Big Jack and Bruce take him down. Big Jack and Bruce show up as Money Mark says business is about to pick up and that they have been paid to do a job, then Money Mark says there will be no more "GunShows" in Memphis. Big Jack and Bruce fight Brett Michaels in the ring, but Brett Michaels is quickly overpowered. Money Mark and Big Jack then set up a table, and as Big Jack and Bruce are about to put him through it, Mike Anthony's music hits. Brett Michaels tries to fight back, but Mike Anthony, Big Jack and Bruce put Brett through the table. It becomes obvious that Mike Anthony has paid Money Mark, Big Jack and Bruce off to attack Brett, and Mike Anthony places his beanie on top of a downed Brett.
