Final Impact - Impact Wrestling recap for April 15, 2021

We hear from Matt Cardona, who talks about how he won big at Hardcore Justice - winning a match and getting some new action figures - and says that he wants nothing to do with Brian Myers and did not want things to come to this, but they have, and if Myers gets to pick his opponent tonight, he is always ready.

Havok beats Nevaeh.

"The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander beats TJP.

Taylor Wilde returns to Impact Wrestling soon.

"Machine Gun" Karl Anderson beats Crazzy Steve following the distraction from "The Big LG" Doc Gallows.

At Swinger's Palace, Ace Austin and Madman Fulton show up, and Austin wants the odds on him leaving Rebellion as X Division Champion. He finds out his odds are not very good, then TJP shows up. TJP asks for his odds and finds out he is the odds-on favorite, then Josh Alexander shows up and says he does not need to worry about the odds, as his friend told him the odds. Petey Williams - dressed up like Scott Steiner - shows up and provides some Steiner Math (or in this case, either Alexander Math or Maple Leaf Math), much to the surprise of everyone at Swinger's Palace. Alexander says he is not worried about the odds as he leaves, then Johnny Swinger proclaims that he is going to be "The Million Dollar Swing Man."

Eddie Edwards and Willie Mack are in the ring. Eddie says they have been friends for a long time, but they have been in the wrestling business for a long time, and while they lost at Hardcore Justice, they are not focused on that. Eddie says they are here because Violent By Design (Eric Young, Joe Doering, Deaner, Rhino) thought it was a good idea to lay out Tommy Dreamer and that they are here to make this right, for when you mess with Dreamer, you messing with them and the Impact family. He says they are looking for a fight, not a rematch, and tells Violent By Design to come to the ring and take an ass whupping like a man. Violent By Design show up, and Eric Young admits that he approved of what happened to Tommy Dreamer, then says he is not a liar and told him he would take the World title from and did, then says he and his men had nothing to do with it. Nevertheless, Eddie wants a fight, and tells them to get in the ring. Suddenly, "The Cowboy" James Storm and Chris Sabin run into the ring to even the numbers, causing Violent By Design to quickly retreat. Storm compares Violent By Design to a pack of wolves, saying they are ready to attack when the odds are in their favor, then challenges them to a eight-man tag match at Rebellion.

Backstage, Susan tells Deonna Purrazzo that she feels like her self. Scott D'Amore shows up and tells them to let Jazz have her moment during her retirement ceremony and to not ruin the moment. Purrazzo agrees, saying she was not planning on it.

Tennille Dashwood hosts the first-ever edition of All About Me. Tonight's guests are herself and Kaleb. Tennille and Kaleb bring out Gia Miller, who notices that the set is the same as Madison Rayne's Locker Room Talk. Tennille says she is sure she will win the Knockouts Championship because she is good at just about everything. She says that Impact Wrestling kickstarted women's wrestling, but she spread it with her influence, then says that Deonna Purrazzo has never beat her and that she will win because of this.

Jazz heads to the ring with Jordynne Grace for her retirement ceremony. Jazz says that she came to Impact hoping that she would have one more title run, but that did not happen at Hardcore Justice. She says that going into Hardcore Justice, she knew Deonna Purrazzo would give her a run for her money, but she felt she had one more run. She says that she felt that fire that she had fifteen years ago, but Deonna, being the true champion that she is, is the present and the future of women's wrestling. Jazz says that when Jordynne Grace gave her the call and asked her to tag with her, she knew they would end up victorious, and while they had a few wins, she had the Knockouts tag titles on their minds. She thanks Jordynne for considering her as a tag team partner and tells her that her future is bright, and thanks her and the Impact family for welcoming her with open arms, saying the last few months made for a great farewell. Suddenly, Fire 'n Flava (Kiera Hogan and Tasha Steelz) show up. Hogan says it is about time that Jazz left, as Jazz could win when it counted, and Tasha says it was about time Jazz went to the retirement home. As they mock Jazz, Jordynne tells Fire 'n Flava that they were not invited because they talk too much and tells them to shut up for once in their lives or at least say what they want to say in the ring. A referee shows up and tells Fire 'n Flava that they have a match, and they find out that the match is against Jazz and Jordynne Grace.

Jazz and Jordynne Grace beat Fire 'n Flava (Kiera Hogan and Tasha Steelz). After the match, Jazz says that it is time that she fully says that this is it, and announces her retirement. She thanks the fans over the years for the love and support, for without them, there would be no "female fighting phenom" or "baddest bitch." The Impact locker room surrounds the ring to show support for Jazz one more time.

Backstage, Fire 'n Flava (Kiera Hogan and Tasha Steelz) confront Scott D'Amore, who puts them in another match against Jazz and Jordynne Grace with the Knockouts Tag Team Championships on the line. Jazz and Jordynne show up, but Jazz says she is a woman of her word. Jazz then says that she has just the right person to team with Jordynne, and Scott D'Amore says she is fine with whoever she has in mind.

Before the next match, Matt Cardona announces that he has picked Jake Something as Brian Myers' opponent for tonight's match.

Brian Myers beats Jake Something. After the match, the lights go out, and when they come back on, Matt Cardona is laid out on the stage by Sami Callihan.

Sami Callihan beats Matt Cardona after thumbing Cardona in the eye. After the match, Sami Callihan mocks Matt Cardona, making a reference to his old Zack Ryder persona, before saying he is moving on to bigger and better things and calling out Trey Miguel. Trey shows up, and Sami says he is proud of Trey for taking an opportunity, being in the main event where he belonged, and showing passion. Trey says he did not do this to validate him and that he was doing the right thing, but Sami asks him if he felt good feeling that rage and says that his temper is true power is channeled the right way. He says he can channel that rage and bring him to the next level, and all he has to do is shake his hand and they can take over everything, but Trey refuses. Sami tells Trey to show some gratitude, saying he would not be on Hardcore Justice because of him, and admits that he was the one who laid out Tommy Dreamer and not Violent By Design (Eric Young, Joe Doering, Deaner, Rhino). When Sami demands that Trey shake his hand in one final offer, Trey fights Sami only to get kicked in the groin, and Sami lays him out with a powerful clothesline. When Trey refuses to stay down, Sami hits him with a chair, throws it into the ring where it lands on Trey, then slams Trey into the chair with a vertical suplex, bending it.

We hear from Juice Robinson and David Finlay, and says that they like to see The Good Brothers ("The Big LG" Doc Gallows and "Machine Gun" Karl Anderson) squirm and say The Good Brothers need to know who dangerous they are. After comparing accolades, David Finlay says that they beat The Good Brothers to become the best in the world, and at Rebellion, they will prove they are the best in the world again.

Sami Callihan vs. Trey Miguel in a Last Man Standing Match is official for Rebellion.

We see the press conference for the match between Rich Swann and Kenny Omega for the AEW and Impact World Championships at Rebellion. Kenny Omega is absent during the press conference. Rich Swann says he has battled with adversity his whole life, and while Omega is the best in the world, if he wins both titles, it will be a very historical night. Tony Khan says he believes Kenny Omega will win the match, and that he hopes that whoever wins the match will be able to make all commitments for both Impact Wrestling and All Elite Wrestling. Scott D'Amore says that all the preparations have been made, and that what Tony Khan has laid out is a testament to both companies and puts fans first. He also says that both sides will make sure that there is a definite winner to the match. Before a third question can be asked, Kenny Omega and Don Callis show up late. Don Callis says Omega is a great champion and that he advocated for Swann to be in Impact Wrestling and in the main event. He also says that Swann knows that Omega is family to him, and says that Omega is the greatest living athlete and wrestler in the business, saying all other legends are insects compared to him. Omega says this a press conference like this is not new to him as he has done this so many times before to the point that it is natural and that he takes what he does seriously and means what he says. He says that Swann is nervous and a little scared after not having to carry this responsibility before, then tells Swann - who confronts Omega - that he was put on the planet to make a change. He then says that while Swann loves wrestling and will try his hardest, he does not belong in this history making event and is just a means to an end, and when everyone looks back at the match, he will not be remembered. Omega then says that he hopes Swann brings his A-game, as he will be part of history, then says this will be the last time he is cordial with Swann. When he offers to shake Swann's hand, he slaps Swann instead, and security swiftly steps in.

Here are all the backstage segements from tonight's show!
