Final Impact - Impact Wrestling recap for April 29, 2021

Backstage, Johnny Swinger meets with Hernandez, telling he needs a bit more muscle. Hernandez says he wants money or else he is not interested, and Swinger produces an entire roll of money, despite saying earlier that he owes money to Ted Turner.

"The Cowboy" James Storm beats Deaner in the pre-show match after blocking a DDT and countering with the Last Call superkick.

Backstage, Scott D'Amore tells the locker room members at this doorstep to head to the ring, as he is about to address everyone wanting a shot at Kenny Omega. Don Callis calls Omega to set up a Zoom call, but D'Amore reminds him that he and Tony Khan both agreed that Omega has to be physically here, especially now, or else Omega will be stripped of the Impact World title and indefinitely suspended from Impact and AEW.

In the ring, Scott D'Amore calls Rebellion a big night not just for Impact Wrestling, but for the wrestling industry. He congratulates Kenny Omega on winning the Impact World Championship and commends Rich Swann on his title defense. He says that this usually leads to a rematch, but it was understood that this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and there was no rematch clause. D'Amore announces that there will be a six-way match to decide a #1 contender for the Impact World Championship at Under Siege. He then says that will assume Kenny Omega is here before tonight's show is over, or else the match will be to crown a new Impact World Championship. He says that either way, the stakes could not be higher. D'Amore commends everyone for their initiative to bring the Impact World Championship back to Impact, and in order to give everyone a chance to do so, there will be six qualifying matches to see who will be in that six-way match at Under Siege. D'Amore calls Jake Something to the ring and tells him that he knows that Something is ready to go for the World Championship, then announces that his qualifying match is against Chris Bey.

Chris Bey beats Jake Something to qualify for the Impact World Championship #1 contender's six-way match at Under Siege after using the ropes for leverage.

Backstage, Don Callis tells Kenny Omega to take the jet to the arena so he can get to the arena in half an hour or less. Suddenly, Sami Callihan shows up and says that if Kenny Omega shows up, he will be coming for what is his.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviews Taylor Wilde, who says it feels like the last decade of being retired never happened and that she is home where she belongs. Tenille Dashwood and Kaleb show up, and Tenille wants Taylor to be her tag team partner. Taylor says she is really here for Deonna Purrazzo and the Knockouts Championship, but Tenille refuses to listen and Taylor walks away.

Before the next match, W. Morrissey says the fans may recognize his face, but they do not know who he or any of the wrestlers are, and says that the other wrestlers do not care about the fans and are very bad people, much like the rest of the industry. He says that the only difference between him and them is that he is not afraid to admit it, then hits Sam Beale in the corner.

W. Morrissey beats Sam Beale.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviews Deonna Purrazzo, Kimber Lee and Susan. Kimber Lee says that she will beat Taylor Wilde with her friends at her side. Purrazzo says it is time for Kimber and Susan to prove themselves on their own while she stays backstage. When asked why she is staying backstage, Purrazzo says she is not afraid to face Taylor Wilde after winning the Knockouts title twice, then she is briefly confronted by Havok.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviews Willie Mack, who says that he does not understand W. Morrissey's actions any better after Rebellion or tonight, and that at Under Siege, he will challenge Morrissey to a one-on-one match.

Taylor Wilde beats Kimber Lee by submission. After the match, Susan attacks Taylor Wilde, but Taylor Wilde fights back, and Tenille Dashwood shows up with Kaleb and kicks Susan out of the ring.

The Impact Plus Flashback Moment of the Weks is Ace Austin vs. Aiden Prince vs. Jake Crist vs. Eddie Edwards vs. Petey Williams vs. Cousin Jake at Rebellion 2019.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviews Scott D'Amore, who says that this is not the first time that Impact has had to deal with a difficult world champion. Suddenly, Moose shows up wanting to know why he has to go through hoops to go for the Impact World title. Scott D'Amore tells him that a qualifying match will be like a warm-up match compared to the six-way match, but Moose warns D'Amore that just because they have a business relationship does not mean he will hurt him or anyone to get what he wants. "The Cowboy" James Storm shows up and tells Moose that they will dance next week, then tells him that it will be an "all-night ass whuppin'" and hands him two bagged lunches. Moose hands the bags to D'Amore and leaves.

"The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander retains the Impact X Division Championship against "Inevitable" Ace Austin with the ankle lock.

Backstage, Don Callis is calling Kenny Omega when Johnny Swinger and Hernandez shows up. Callis tells Swinger he needs somebody who can get Omega to the arena from a private airfield. Swinger tells Callis he's got it.

Backstage, Gia Miller interview Rachael Ellering and Jordynne Grace. Jordynne says that Rachael is the missing piece she needed and a star. Ellering says finding the perfect fit is trial and error, but Jazz found that perfect team, then Fire 'n Flava shows up, and Tasha says Rachael could beat them without Jordynne. Tasha says that she and Kiera will take the Knockouts Tag Team Championship back at Under Siege.

Matt Cardona beats Brian Myers to qualify for the Impact World Championship #1 contender's six-way match at Under Siege despite Myers targeting his left knee throughout the match.

We hear from Violent By Design. Eric Young says disappointment is a tricky thing, as it can deceive and take someone down the wrong path. He says there is no shame in losing to "The Cowboy" James Storm and that the war is not over. Eric Young says that the disease is at is strongest when there is a lot on the line, but that they will be at their strongest, as disappointment can also be fuel and Rhino will his way into the six-way match at Under Siege and becomes Impact World Champion.

We see a vignette for New Japan's El Phantasmo, who is coming to Impact next week.

Sami Callihan vs. Eddie Edwards in a qualifier for the Impact World Championship #1 contender's six-way match at Under Siege ends in a no-contest when Kenny Omega and The Good Brothers ("The Big LG" Doc Gallows and "Machine Gun" Karl Anderson) show up and attack both men. Juice Robinson and David Finlay run in, but the numbers game takes over. Don Callis tells the fans who wanted a celebration to be careful what they wish for, as there is no better celebration than laying out "the chumps in the ring."
