Raw Deal - Raw recap for August 7, 2017

Hours before the show went on the air, it was announced on WWE's YouTube channel that Bayley is out of action for SummerSlam following a shoulder injury she suffered last week during her match with Nia Jax, and that tonight, she will address the fans. As a result, there will be two Women's Triple Threat Matches with the winners of both matches going one-on-one to decide who will become #1 contender for the Raw Women's title.

It is also announced hours before the show that Scott Dawson has ruptured his bicep at a WWE live event over the weekend, and that his status for SummerSlam is questionable.

Tonight's show begins with Miz TV with special guest Jason Jordan. The Miz says tonight's show will not begin until he has him in the ring, so he can finish what Jason Jordan started last week. Instead of getting Jordan, he gets General Manager Kurt Angle instead, who tells him that Jordan will not be on Miz TV tonight as he has a match against Curtis Axel later on. However, someone has questions that they want answered, and not only are they the replacement guest, they exceed the Miz TV standard. The replacement guest is none other than Brock Lesnar, accompanied by Paul Heyman. Miz asks Heyman if Lesnar is guaranteed to lose at SummerSlam, as there is a good chance someone else will walk out with the Universal title and a seemingly unbeatable champion will have been beaten and will leave the WWE. Miz even goes so far as to say he would put his money on Lesnar's Universal title challengers, as Lesnar will take his ball and go home. After saying "Good riddance to bad rubbish" and asking Heyman if he has anything more to add. Heyman asks Miz if he and his wife Maryse ever roleplay, as he is all about the roleplay. He pretends that The Miztourage (The Miz, Bo Dallas, Curtis Axel) are Lesnar' challengers, then leaves the ring and lets Brock Lesnar decimate Miz, Bo and Axel.

Sheamus beats Seth Rollins after Cesaro gets on the apron and shakes the top rope as Rollins goes for a frog splash, allowing Sheamus to get the pinfall. After the match, Sheamus hits Cesaro with a suicide dive, but the numbers game catches up to Seth. Cesaro and Sheamus keep an eye out for Dean Ambrose - who never shows up - as they double team Seth.

Backstage, Seth Rollins runs into Dean Ambrose. Dean says he looks like a real jerk, while Seth says he is a jerk. He says that it has been three years, and wants to know what it will take to regain Dean's trust. Dean says he does not want to know or stick around to find out. He says that he has a match against Cesaro tonight, and that he wants to go it alone.

General Manager Kurt Angle finds out that Curtis Axel will not be able to face Jason Jordan thanks to what happened to him at the hands of Brock Lesnar on Miz TV. Angle suddenly finds a random wrestler named Jean-Pierre Goulet, and asks him to take Curtis Axels' place.

Jason Jordan beats Jean-Pierre Goulet.

Charly Caruso interviews Bayley in the ring about her shoulder injury last week on Raw. Bayley says she cannot watch the footage because she knows it will make her angry, and is disappointed that she is not at SummerSlam. She says that she had to finish last week's match or else she would not be seen as a threat. Bayley thanks the fans for their support, and says she looks forward to coming back. As far as who she wants to see take on Alexa Bliss at SummerSlam is concerned, Bayley says Sasha Banks will be the one to do it.

Alexa Bliss guests on commentary for the next match.

Sasha Banks beats Emma and Alicia Fox in a Triple Threat Match to continue to next week's match to determine a new #1 contender for the Raw Women's title.

Renee Young interviews Braun Strowman. Strowman says he likes to hurt Roman Reigns, and tonight, he wants to break Roman's spirit along with his body. He says that "The Big Dog" is just a puppy, and that Roman's yard is his playground. Tonight, he plans to be the only monster standing.

Enzo Amore introduces Big Show before the next match, and as they talk about last week's match, Gallows & Anderson (Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson) show up and challenge them to a match. Enzo Amore compares Gallows & Anderson to Dr. Evil and Mini-Me from the Austin Powers movies almost immediately after this.

Gallows & Anderson (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson) beat Enzo Amore and Big Show after the distraction by Big Cass. After the match, Big Cass attacks Big Show. Enzo hits Cass with a suicide drive, but Cass overpowers him and tosses him straight into the barricade. Enzo runs around the ring to buy himself some time, and Big Cass runs into a big fist from Big Show that knocks him out.

Finn Balor shows up. He asks if everyone saw when he kicked Bray Wyatt's teeth down his neck last week, and says Bray Wyatt loves to talk. Finn says that Bray cares more about hurting people than he does winning and losing. He says that if fear comes knocking, you kick fear in the face, and if Bray comes at him again, he had better not miss as he will finish whatever Bray starts. Bray suddenly teleports into the ring, and Finn Balor ends up outsmarting him again. Before he can hit Bray with the running drop kick in the corner, though, Bray teleports out of the ring and onto the TitanTron. He says he understands why the fans love Finn Balor now, as they fly when he does. When he rips Finn Balor from the heavens, however, the fans will fall with him.

Dean Ambrose beats Cesaro after Sheamus' distraction attempt backfires. After the match, Sheamus and Cesaro attack Dean, but Seth Rollins makes the save immediately. Dean extends his fist afterwards, but Seth does not return the favor and leaves.

Akira Tozawa, Titus O'Neil and Apollo Crews celebrate Tozawa becoming the #1 contender for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship when Neville shows up and mocks Tozawa for facing Ariya Daivari in yet another match even though he beat him to become #1 contender for his title.

Akira Tozawa beats Ariya Daivari.

Renee Young interviews Roman Reigns. Roman says he doesn't care what Brock Lesnar did on Miz TV or what he does after SummerSlam. He says that he has retired The Undertaker and that he can do the same to Lesnar. Tonight, he plans to be last man standing, as tonight will be no different from last week. He will then leave SummerSlam as Universal Champion.
