Generation NXT - NXT recap for August 30, 2017

The show begins with both security guards and NXT Superstars knocked out outside of Full Sail University. General Manager William Regal is not happy.

Drew McIntyre shows up. McIntyre says that the NXT Championship is his life, and all the work over the last 17 years has led to this moment. He calls the championship his life's work, but he is not naive and knows he has a big target on his back. He says that is okay, as it is one thing to hold the title and another to defend it. McIntyre then puts Bobby Fish, Kyle O'Reilly, Adam Cole and the rest of the locker room on notice: this is his world now. If anyone wants a shot at him, all they have to do is ask him for a fight. Suddenly, Roderick Strong shows up. He congratulates McIntyre, but agrees with him that the title makes him the target. He says he has seen what happened at TakeOver, but all he cares about right now is winning the gold. Strong says he will beat Bobby Roode for a title shot, and if McIntyre wants someone to face him like a man, here he is. McIntyre says this is exactly what he was talking about earlier, and hopes Roderick Strong is ready to be knocked down like a man.

Next week: Asuka returns to address her future in NXT!

Peyton Royce beats Ruby Riot after Peyton distracts the referee by dragging the apron skirt towards in the ring so that Billie Kay can hit Ruby Riot with a big boot.

Christy St. Cloud interviews General Manager William Regal, who announces that he will make sure an attack like tonight's never happens again. Meanwhile, Kassius Ohno is back and better. He gets to face Hideo Itami next week, as per Regal. Ohno also asks that the match be no-disqualification after what happened last time. Regal says if he wants it, he's got it.

Heavy Machinery (Tucker Knight and Otis Dozovic) is up next!

Heavy Machinery (Tucker Knight and Otis Dozovic) beat Damien Ouelle and Edwin Negron.

General Manager William Regal tells Lars Sullivan that actions have consequences. Next week, Sullivan will be in a 3-on-1 handicap match. Sullivan is unfazed as he leaves Regal's office.

Next week: Cezar Bononi vs. Andrade "Cien" Almas in a rematch!

Roderick Strong beats Bobby Roode to earn a shot at the NXT Championship. After the match, Drew McIntyre shows up and lifts the NXT Championship up, but he gets attacked by Adam Cole, Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly, who then run away after General Manager William Regal shows up with security and chases them out of Full Sail University.
