Honor Roll - Ring of Honor recap for August 5, 2017

The beginning of the show is a brief recap for "The Almighty" Christopher Daniels vs. "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes for the ROH World Championship in a two-out-of-three falls match.

"The Last Real Man" Silas Young and The Beer City Bruiser are in the ring. Silas tells the Bruiser he has made him "damn proud" to be his friend as of late, and says it has been 43 days since Jay Lethal has been seen on Ring of Honor television, which means 43 days of the Bruiser making him more and more proud for him squashing Lethal into the solid steel of the beer keg as Silas made Lethal cry out for his life before putting him through a table. Silas says he knows Lethal is at home watching right now, and says if Lethal was smart, he would never show up on Ring of Honor television again. Before Silas is finished making that statement, however, Jay Lethal shows up on Ring of Honor for the first time in weeks. Lethal punches Silas, then takes Silas' "missed days sign" for Lethal and hits the Bruiser with it. He then goes to town on both men and hits them both with a steel chair. Security shows up, but Lethal tosses them out of the ring before going back to work on Silas. More security guards show up and hold him back, and Lethal punches one of them before telling the other guy to leave. He almost does, but Lethal knows him off the apron anyway and hits Silas with Lethal Injection. Lethal takes the sign, wipes the number "43" off and replaces it with a big fat zero with the marker lying in the center of the ring.

Before the next match, "The Almighty" Christopher Daniels demands he be called "The Greatest World Champion of the World in ROH History."

"The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes retains the ROH World Championship against "The Almighty" Christopher Daniels in a two-out-of-three falls match. During the match, Daniels shoves Cody - who is injured after being whipped into the guardrail outside of the ring into referee Todd Sinclair. "The Heavy Metal Rebel" Frankie Kazarian shows up and tosses a steel chair to Daniels, but "The Villain" Marty Scurll shows up and brawls with Kazarian, sending him to the back. Cody scores the first fall with a schoolboy pin, then Daniels blasts Cody in the back with the steel chair before the next round begins. Cody then gets the second fall with Cross Rhodes. During the match, Daniels starts showing more heelish behavior.
