Generation NXT - NXT recap for August 16, 2017

At the start of the show, General Manager William Regal is here to moderate the contract signing between Ember Moon and Asuka for the NXT Women's Championship at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III. Ember Moon is introduced first, followed by Asuka. Ember Moon says Asuka has had an incredible journey in NXT, and became one of the most dominant champions to step foot in WWE. She beat the best, and surpassed even Goldberg's undefeated streak. The crowd chants "Asuka" much like crowds in the '90s chanted "Goldberg." Ember Moon then states that Asuka has taken shortcuts with only one person...her. The first time, Asuka shoved the referee into her to win. The second time, she injured her. Ember Moon says Asuka made the biggest mistake of her life, and says she refuses to become a victim and has become better from this. She thanks Asuka for this, and says that at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III, she will end her reign of dominance and her undefeated streak, and become NXT Women's Champion. Ember Moon says she will become NXT Women's Champion. She signs the contract. Asuka also signs. William Regal then signs the contract, and declares that this match is now official for NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III. Asuka screams at Ember Moon in Japanese, then raises the Women's title in the air. The two women then stare down.

Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) are next!

In footage from earlier today, General Manager William Regal is met by Lars Sullivan. Sullivan wants one more tag team match, and promises not to destroy his partner in the ring this time. Regal warns him his tag team partner could lose, but he gives him one more chance.

Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) beats Lars Sullivan and Chris Silvio without Sullivan even being able to tag in. After the match, Sullivan carries Silvio to the back, then attacks him and tosses him into a dumpster.

Ruby Riot beats Billie Kay with a Pele kick from out of nowhere after kicking Peyton Royce off the apron. After the match, Peyton Royce tells Ruby Riot she might be feeling good right now, but all she's proven is that lightning strikes once, even for a "gross, tattooed loser" like her. She then says that Ruby Riot will never be iconic.

We see a video package for SAnitY (Alexander Wolfe and Killian Dain) vs. The Authors of Pain (Akam and Rezar) for the NXT Tag Team Championships at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III.

Roderick Strong vs. Drew McIntyre ends when Bobby Roode attacks both men. The show ends with Roode hitting McIntyre with a Glorious DDT, blowing a kiss to Strong and telling McIntyre that this is his NXT.
