Honor Roll - Ring of Honor recap for August 19, 2017

BJ Whitmer guests on commentary for this week.

Best Friends (Trent Baretta and Chuckie T) beat Coast To Coast (Shaheem Ali and LSG).

We see footage from earlier today where Jay Lethal says that his injury is the first time that his family has had to see him in a hospital bed. He says that this will have to come to an end between him and the team of "The Last Real Man" Silas Young and The Beer City Bruiser. He says his motivation is usually to be the best in the world, but it is now revenge. Suddenly, Silas shows up, and Lethal and Silas immediately start brawling. The Beer City Brawler tries to blindside Lethal, but he gets kicked in the crotch. Silas hits Lethal in the back with a chair, and both Silas and .

After the break, Jay Lethal asks if that is the best "The Last Real Man" Silas Young and The Beer City Bruiser has. He wants a match, and does not care what kind of match it is, because this will end and end soon.

Jay Brisco beats Matt Taven by disqualification. During the match, Vinny Marseglia and TK O'Ryan get involved in the match, and when TK O'Ryan points his crutch at Jay Briscoe, Jay grabs it and drags TK O'Ryan into the ring with it. Jay takes the crutch as TK O'Ryan begs for mercy, but when he does, TK O'Ryan smiles towards the camera and winks. Taven and Marseglia laugh, and TK O'Ryan takes off the cast on his foot and strikes Jay with it from behind. The Kingdom (Taven, Marseglia, O'Ryan) place a steel chair on Jay Briscoe's back, then they each grab their own steel chair and smack them into the chair on Briscoe's back with the intent of injuring Briscoe's back.

"The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes - with help from referee Todd Sinclair - talks about how he has successfully defended the ROH World Championship as a free agent, and dares any and all challengers to sign up and show up.

Dalton Castle and The Boys retain the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championships against Colt Cabana and The Tempura Boys (Sho and Yo). After the match, Castle tells Colt that they have a bit of a history, and to be honest, he had admired him for a long time, even before he put on a pair of wrestling boots. He admits that Cabana has made it so hard for him to like him, but he wants to like him, even after having beaten him three times now. He wants to know if he has earned Colt Cabana's respect after having respected everyone else's. Colt extends his hand, and they both shake hands.

Next week: The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin) vs. The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) for the ROH World Tag Team Championships!
