Raw Deal - Raw recap for September 1, 2025

Backstage at the arena entrance, General Manager Adam Pearce tells CM Punk to wait inside, but Punk says there is only one way in and out and that it is on sight when he sees Seth "Freakin'" Rollins. Pearce says "Have it your way."

"Main Event" Jey Uso heads to the ring. Jey says he should have the World Heavyweight Championship around his waist, but instead, he has medical tape. He says he should have listened to Roman Reigns' advice, but he does not play when it comes to his family: do not talk about his family, do not disrespect his family, and do not put his hands on his family. He says that Roman is laid up in the hospital, then calls The Vision (Seth "Freakin'" Rollins, Bron Breakker, "Big" Bronson Reed) out. LA Knight shows up instead. Knight says he believed in himself and believed he would be World Heavyweight Champion, but he stands as a loser. He says everyone else lost that match, and while he does not know about Jey living in Jimmy Uso's shadow, he says that Seth lives in his wife's. He says this did not have to happen, as they had the chance to take the title off Rollins, but Jey spoiled everything. Knight says he is sick and tired of being left laying and not being World Heavyweight Champion, and if Jey will stand in his way and have a tough time understand, he can get him up to speed "real damn quick." Jey says "Talk to me, Uce," but before Knight can explain, Breakker and Bronson show up. Knight notices that Rollins is absent and tells them to go back to the back if they cannot make a coherent sentence, but Breakker says he is coherent enough to beat Knight twice before mentioning that Roman Reigns also put Paul Heyman in the hospital. He says that should be concerned that Heyman is not here because there is nobody to hold him and Bronson back, and that they are going to put Knight and Jey in the hospital next to Roman. Bronson tells the fans to acknowledge their "Tribal Thief" but is met by "Fuck you, Bronson" chants, then brags about how he and Breakker beat down Roman like no one ever has because the vision does not include Roman and the vision does not include Jey or Knight, and for that, Jey and Knight are next. Breakker says Jey and Knight are a couple of smart guys, then proposes they have a tag team match tonight before Breakker questions their health and their courage. Knight puts his rivalry with Jey aside for the tag team match, and Jey accepts the challenge.

We are introduced to the French commentary team of Philippe Chéreau and Christopher Agius. It is announced that Raw will be live from France again in January.

Backstage, Iyo Sky meets with The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane). Iyo Sky apologizes for last week, but Asuka says it is okay because they are family. She says they will take care of The Judgment Day (Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez) for her, and when Iyo asks if they need help, Asuka says that unlike Rhea Ripley, they do not need help. Iyo says she is done with Rhea before they head to the ring.

The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane) beat The Judgment Day (Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez) by submission with an Asuka Lock from Asuka to Roxanne.

Backstage, General Manager Adam Pearce announces that Stephanie Vaquer and Iyo Sky will face each other for the vacant Women's World Championship in three weeks at Wrestlepalooza. The contract for the match will be signed live on Raw next week.

Finn Balor beats Dragon Lee following the distraction from JD McDonagh, which allows Finn Balor to yank Dragon Lee off the top rope by the mask from the Tree of Woe position.

Backstage, Iyo Sky meets Nikki Bella, who wishes her luck before The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane) show up and tell Iyo they will help her with Stephanie Vaquer. Iyo says she can beat Stephanie by herself, but Asuka reminds her that she lost in their last match and tshe and Kairi will be tag team champions again.

Backstage, Finn Balor and JD McDonagh run into "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio, who says that he was ringside at their match in spirit while preparing for "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles, who says is still on his case. Suddenly, General Manager Adam Pearce shows up and states that Finn and McDonagh are banned from ringside in Dominik's match.

The War Raiders (Ivar and Erik) and Penta beat The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) and Grayson Waller in a six-man tag match.

Backstage, Cathy Kelley interviews Rhea Ripley. Rhea says she respects both Iyo Sky and Stephanie Vaquer and believes they deserve their championship match, but she will do whatever it takes to earn a shot at the Women's World Championship. All of a sudden, The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane) show up, and Asuka questions Rhea wanting a title shot before Iyo even has her match. Rhea says she does not know why Asuka has a problem with her, then says that she wants to be champion like everyone else and that her friendship with Iyo has nothing to do with it. Asuka says they are not friends and to stay away. Rhea says she is trying to play nice for Iyo's sake, but tells Asuka not to push her. Asuka says she has known her for ten years and that she will push anyone she wants. Rhea dares Asuka to try her, but Asuka says nobody is ready for her, even Rhea.

Backstage, General Manager Adam Pearce is met by Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez. Roxanne wants to be in the Women's World Championship match, but Pearce reminds her and Raquel that they just lost tonight. When Lyra Valkyria shows up, she has a verbal spat with Roxanne and Raquel over Bayley over Pearce dismisses Roxanne and Raquel. Pearce then tells Lyra that Bayley will be coming back, then Lyra wants a match with either Roxanne or Raquel next week over the disrespect from earlier. Pearce makes the match official.

"Dirty" Dominik Mysterio retains the WWE Intercontinental Championship against "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles following an attack on Styles on the outside by El Grande Americano as Dominik distracts the referee while Styles goes for the Phenomenal Forearm.

It is announced that Paul Heyman suffered a larynx contusion and that Roman Reigns is out indefinitely with multiple fractured ribs after Clash in Paris.

Backstage, Jackie Redmond interviews LA Knight. Knight says it may not be the best decision to be in tonight's match, but he cannot stop, and if he has to do this to get to the World Heavyweight Championship, he will do it. He then says he and "Main Event" Jey Uso can die together or die apart, then says that if one does dirt, one gets dirt. "Main Event" Jey Uso suddenly appears and says he comes from the dirt and that since "Big" Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker got Roman, he has them. Jey tells Knight to stay out of his way and there will be no problems.

Backstage, CM Punk is talking with Rhea Ripley when General Manager Adam Pearce shows up and says Seth "Freakin'" Rollins is somehow in the building. Punk says he will handle this.

We hear from Rusev. Rusev says Sheamus called him a bully and he called his bluff; Rusev says he is a beacon and a source of inspiration for the children. He says the world says to be kind, but he says to be one of a kind, and to be like Rusev. As for Sheamus, he brought his Irish body, but his French spirit showed up and he made him cave. He says he will be the bigger man towards Sheamus and that they can be friends again with Sheamus knowing that his place is beneath his feet. He says he was scary when he was held back, but he is devastating now.

CM Punk is in the ring. He hijacks the show until Seth "Freakin'" Rollins shows up and faces him man-to-man, and Rollins' music hits. Instead of Rollins, however, he gets Becky Lynch, and Becky says that she is man Punk will have to deal with. Punk tells Becky that this has nothing to do with her and to tell Rollins to get in the ring, but Becky says this has everything to do with her. Punk wants nothing to do with this, but Becky demands that Punk listen to what she has to say. She says he has had to listen to Punk tell lies about her husband Rollins, but Punk says Rollins is a coward. Becky says Rollins has sacrificed more for the business than Punk will ever know and that Rollins is everything Punk is not. At this point, Punk has had enough of Becky, who says that the CM Punk chants proved that nobody cared about what she was doing or the work that she was putting in. She also says that she got herself to WrestleMania and that she and Rollins brought the business to where it is today, which leads to "Shut the fuck up" chants from the crowd. Becky then says Punk needs to get out of the way as Punk is not what the business needs and does not fit the vision. Punk say the vision is a bit blurry, then says everyone continues to chant his name in the towns he was in, then says that Rollins and Becky were not there when he was because Rollins runs from adversity, hides behind his faction and now hides behind his wife when it stares him in the face, especially when Becky is a talented Superstar who just had bad taste and married a bum. Punk calls Rollins a paper champion and says it will never be over between him and Rollins. Rollins suddenly shows up and says he has been looking for Punk all night, and if Punk has something to say to him, he can say it to his face at the stage. Becky gets in Punk's way immediately, but Rollins walks away when Punk gets past Becky. When Punk turns around, Becky slaps Punk multiple times to no effect before calling him "pathetic." Punk says he will make Rollins regret cashing on it and make Becky regret putting his hands on him, but Becky says she already does and that she will have to bathe in bleach. Becky says that Punk will never be champion as Punk leaves.

Backstage, General Manager Adam Pearce tells CM Punk that Seth "Freakin'" Rollins has left the building. Punk asks Pearce where SmackDown is next week, and finds out it is in Chicago. Punk says "Tremendous," then leaves.

The Vision (Bron Breakker and "Big" Bronson Reed) beats "Main Event" Jey Uso and LA Knight. After the match, Bronson and Brakker go on the attack on Jey Uso, and while LA Knight tries to make the save, Breakker hits him with a Spear. Breakker then hits another Spear on Jey, and Bronson hits Jey with a Tsunami. All of a sudden, Jimmy Uso shows up with a metal folding chair, and Bronson and Breakker get out of the ring.

After telling Knight that he is going up against a Superstar who is "the wrong Superstar for [him]," then says that he is like a human time traveler and that after he beats him, he will be a failure again and he will be cutting promos like a WWE Superstar like it is 2003. She says that November will be 24 years since her debut, and for over half her life, she has done so much for the business, and the last few years have really been a journey. Mickie says the last six months have been a whirlwind and caused doubts to settle back in, but after she came back to Impact last year, she has had the best run of her career. When she lost the Knockouts Championship and was betrayed by Chelsea Green when she mentored her, it set her back, she took a break from wrestling and did some soul-searching. Mickie says that when she started, she wanted to make more opportunities for women and make professional wrestling better for women, but she made a promise that if she does not belong, she does not belong. She says that she does not want to go out as a shell of her former self, but she does know if she can retire on her own terms. She says she is not retiring now, but she is testing herself on the quest to be the best. Mickie James says she wants to earn a Knockouts World Championship match "with dirt in [her] eyes and grit in [her] teeth," and issues an open challenge to anyone who wants to face her. She says that she is coming for the Knockouts Championship, but there is a catch: if she loses in this journey, or if she loses her title shot, this is it. This is her last rodeo, and she wants the fans to take the journey with her. Mickie says it will be "a hell of a ride" and will end with either her as champion or with her going home for good.

He says that Eddie was once the heart and soul of the company, but it is now him, and that they will see who will walk out as champion. On the subject of Honor No More trying to change his viewpoint, they will not convince him to become bitter, as it is a waste of time and there is nobody more vocal for Impact than him. Suddenly, Eddie Edwards shows up to talk with Josh alone. Gia Miller leaves, then Eddie tells Josh that he respects his loyalty, but at the end, he is a chump and everyone else knows this but Josh. He then mentions Heath cutting him off before giving him an answer, and before he can get an answer from him this time, he is attacked by Heath again. Officials rush in to stop the attack.

Final Impact - Impact Wrestling recap for September 1, 2016

As everyone in the Hardy compound sings Obsolete, Matt Hardy has a premonition of another match.

"The Miracle" Mike Bennett and Maria Kanellis-Bennett show up to start tonight's show. Mike Bennett says he will become TNA World Heavyweight Champion and complete his mission of saving TNA because he is the best pro wrestler on the planet. He calls out Moose to take care of business from last week, but instead he gets Lashley. Lashley tells Bennett that Moose wants nothing to do with him, and he knows he will beat Bennett like everyone else he has recently beaten. Bennett thinks otherwise, and Lashley decides to make the match a no-disqualification match, while joking that Bennett no longer has Moose with him. Bennett thinks Lashley is jealous of Moose because Moose is better than him, but says Moose isn't around because he smartened him up or because Moose hates Bennett's guts. Bennett says he'll become World champ, but Lashley says there's not a chance of that. Moose shows up and finds it funny that everyone is talking about him and chanting his name, and that ever since he came to TNA, he let his actions do the talking and laid people on their asses. Bennett thinks that Moose is on his side again as he speaks, but Moose tells him otherwise and says tonight, he decides who walks out World Heavyweight Champion.

"Broken" Matt Hardy beats Crazzy Steve. After the match, Crazzy Steve laughs, and says that "Maxel is Rosemary's baby," implying that Rosemary is in the house and is looking for Maxel.

The X Division describes the X Division.

As Matt Hardy commands Vanguard-1 to scan the Hardy compound for threats, Rosemary is within striking distance of Matt's son Maxel...

DJ Z wins an Ultimate X Gauntlet Match to become the TNA X Division Champion!

Ethan Carter III calls his match against Drew Galloway last week phenomenal, and his eyes are focused on the main event. Eli Drake shows up and tells him to focus on him instead.

Drew Galloway says he is heading to the ring to explain what's been going on since last week...

Drew Galloway shows up. He says you don't know what you have until it's gone, broken or snapped. He says that everyone believed in him when he came to TNA and won the World Heavyweight Championship, but after last week, he blames the fans, Ethan Carter III and Aron Rex for his recent downfall. Billy Corgan shows up, and Drew Galloway calls him "Dixie Carter's little bitch." Corgan says he considered suspending him, but a little birdy - in the form of Aron Rex - convinced him not to so he can handle Galloway personally. Drew and Rex brawl until the TNA locker room has to rush in to stop it.

As Matt Hardy asks Reby Sky to take Maxel and protect him, he finds out through Vanguard-1 that Rosemary is in his family's house.

Ethan Carter III beats Eli Drake.

Jeremy Borash interviews Allie backstage. Allie is getting the supplies for her own celebration as per Maria Kanellis-Bennett.

Reby Sky hands Maxel off to Senor Benjamin so she can take on Rosemary herself.

It's been four years, but DJ Z is X Division champion again. After Eddie Edwards congratulates him, DJ Z says he's up to the challenge of keeping it.

Allie shows up for her championship celebration. She thanks the fans for chanting her name last week, and is about to thank Maria when an angry Sienna shows up and Maria Kanellis-Bennett has to calm her down. Sienna leaves, and then Maria turns on Allie, saying nobody wants to cheer for her and that the celebration is for her opponent before forcing her to lay down on the mat if she wants to keep her job. She does, and Maria pins Allie to the shoulder for the three count now that a ref is the ring. Maria then makes Allie put the title around her waist and declare her the new Knockouts Champion.

"The Miracle" Mike Bennett tries to talk with Moose backstage, and hands him a steel pipe, telling Moose that he will hopefully "do the right thing for us."

Reby Sky goes after Rosemary, and Rosemary tosses what looks like Maxel off the front balcony to Reby when Reby makes it outside. Thankfully, Senor Benjamin has the real Maxel. Reby asks Senor Benjamin to prepare the battlefield for massacre.

Lashley retains the TNA World Heavyweight Championship against "The Miracle" Mike Bennett after Moose refuses to hand the steel pipe over to Bennett. Bennett confronts Moose after the match, telling him that he was nothing without him and that if he betrays him ever again, he'll make sure he never wrestles again. When Bennett slaps Moose for not listening to him, Moose responds with a vicious clothesline.

Paige, Alicia Fox and Rosa Mendes take some basic motorcycle lessons. Everyone has fun with it, but Paige goes a little too fast and loses control of her bike, and the bike tips to the side as it swerves into the grass. Thankfully, Paige is okay. The three of them then say they've had enough with motorcycles.

Rosa and Alicia Fox talk with Titus O'Neil backstage. Meanwhile, Mark Carrano tells Paige not to pull any stunts like what happened with the motorcycle lessons again.

Everyone quickly finds out the water for the regular toilet has been shut off, meaning that the compost toilet is the only working toilet. Bryan then metions Brie's style of dress, and even Mom and JJ agree she's not as modest as she though. Bryan makes Brie promise to dress more modestly in return for the water being turned back on.

Paige has a surprise meeting with some fans. She then finds her name is not on the list for live events, and asks "Road Dogg" Jesse James (who works as a producer) about it. He tells Paige that it has nothing to do with her being in hot water with WWE, and that she shouldn't accuse him of taking her off live events because of it.

Paige has dinner with Nikki and Nattie. She mentions her recent troubles in the Performance Center. Nattie and Nikki tell her to pick her battles, as her fight with Ariane isn't worth it. Paige realizes she has so much to learn, and Nikki and Nattie have their best interests in mind.
