Those Dynamite Kids - Dynamite recap for January 7, 2026

Jim Ross returns to the commentary table to start tonight's show.

In backstage footage from earlier today, Renee Paquette announces that JetSpeed ("The Jet" Kevin Knight and "Speedball" Mike Bailey) have been brutally attacked backstage and that they are not medically cleared to compete. The Demand (Ricochet, Bishop Kaun, Toa Liona) then shows up with Don Callis, and it becomes readily apparent that a bounty between the two parties made this possible. Jake Something, fresh out of TNA and now going by the name "Jake Doyle," shows up with Mark Davis, and Don Callis says that Doyle is going to be very rich for attacking JetSpeed.

MVP guests on commentary for the next match.

Jon Moxley beats Shelton Benjamin in the final seconds of an AEW Continental Championship Eliminator Match after Shelton gets Moxley in a triangle hold only for Moxley to push forward and pin Shelton's shoulders to the mat for the three count with only five seconds left.

Backstage, Darby Allin is seen looking for PAC.

We see footage of Hiroshi Tanahashi's final match against "The Rainmaker" Kazuchika Okada last Sunday at New Japan Pro Wrestling's Wrestle Kingdom 20.

After the match, Jake Doyle and Mark Davis show up and attack Jack Perry and The Young Bucks, with The Demand joining in. All of a sudden, JetSpeed ("The Jet" Kevin Knight and "Speedball" Mike Bailey) make the save despite not being medically cleared. The lights go out, and when they come back on, Andrade is in the ring for the first time in months, and he takes out JetSpeed. FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) and Stokely Hathaway - the latter now in a wheelchair - show up and watch the aftermath of what has happened from the stage.

Renee Paquette introduces Willow Nightingale into the ring for a TBS Championship celebration. Willow is accompanied by Kris Statlander and Harley Cameron. The lights dim as Willow Nightingale says that she feels complete as a double champion, and a light shines on her and Renee as Willow looks forward to the next challenger as well as the things that really matter. Willow celebrates reuniting with both the TBS Championship as well as Kris Statlander, then says that she will take on both TBS and tag team challengers and even wrestle two matches in one night if she has to. Willow expects Mercedes Moné to have something to say and invites Mercedes to the party, and Mercedes shows up dressed in what looks like white funeral clothes. Willow says that there is plenty of celebrate, especially for Mercedes' incredible year in 2025, then celebrates having to dig down deep to become TBS Champion again. Mercedes takes her hat off, revealing disheveled hair and an angry mood as she topples the table and all the food on it. This gets her shoved face-first into cake again, and Willow hits Mercedes with a Doctor Bomb on the cake. The celebration ends with Renee, Statlander, Harley and Willow in a congo line.

Backstage, we hear from Mark Briscoe, who congratulates Willow Nightingale on winning the TBS Championship before stating it is time to get back to work even though he is not doing so well mentally as it has been too long since he whupped a man's ass. He mentions Hechicero being his next challenger and says that while Hechicero is a bad man who can get it done in the ring, the TNT Championship is not going anywhere. The phrase of the day is "Reign and defend."

We hear from Triangle of Madness (Julia Hart, Skye Blue, "The Toxic Spider" Thekla). Thekla says that Kris Statlander is insecure enough to reunite with Kris Statlander, and wants to know if and when she will turn on her friends as well as how long Statlander and The Babes of Wrath (Willow Nightingale and Harley Cameron) can last against them.

Bandido beats Sammy Guevara. Immediately after the match, MJF shows up along with Jon Cruz and congratulates Bandido on his win before calling himself a lucha libre legend and a bigger star in Mexico that Bandido will ever be. He still believes that Bandido has potential, and has Jon Cruz translate for him. MJF thanks Jon Cruz for being professional and coming to "a dump like Oklahoma" to do his work. MJF goes on to mention the Dynamite Diamond Rings that he has won, then says that the Dynamite Diamond Ring on Bandido's finger does not belong to him and that if Bandido hands it to him, they can forego the AEW World Championship match. Jon Cruz tries to translate, but Bandido stops him and tells MJF "I can speak English, you stupid son of a bitch!" MJF kicks Bandido in the groin, takes Bandido's ring, and tries to knock Bandido out when Jon Cruz holds Bandido up only for Bandido to duck and Jon Cruz to get struck instead. Bandido then kicks MJF in the groin, takes the ring back, and hits Jon Cruz with a 21-Plex before hitting MJF with another.

We see a video package of Brody King, who says that violence puts food on his family's table and that he does not have to scream to get his point across. Brody King then says that he is coming for the throne.

"Timeless" Toni Storm beats Marina Shafir by disqualification after Wheeler Yuta pulls referee Paul Turner out of the ring form the outside. After the match, Marina Shafir knocks Toni Storm, and Mina Shirakawa rushes in only to get a high boot from Shafir. Luther gets in the ring, and when Wheeler Yuta and Daniel Garcia are about to gang up on him, Orange Cassidy shows up along with Roderick Strong. Shafir, Garcia and Wheeler Yuta retreat. Claudio Castagnoli rises up from the front row, but Garcia and Yuta have to hold him back. Orange then helps Mina and Toni up, much to Luther's chagrin.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews PAC. PAC says that he is not here to oblige Darby Allin, as he has wrestled and beaten him twice and that he is the established winner. Darby shows up wanting the match, refusing to take no for an answer, but PAC tells him to jog on. As PAC walks away, Darby sprays him with a fire extinguisher and blinds him before hitting him with his skateboard and threatening to break his ankle with a door. PAC gives him the match as Wheeler Yuta, Claudio Castagnoli and Dangiel Garcia rush in. Darby soon retreats.

"Hangman" Adam Page and Swerve Strickland beat The Opps (Hook and Powerhouse Hobbs) by submission in a Lights Out Match after Hangman hangs Hook over the rope rope with a chain.

New Year's Evil - NXT recap for January 6, 2026

Blake Monroe attacks Thea Hail from behind before the next match, and referees have to rush in to restore order. Not long after this, Ricky Saints makes an unscheduled appearance as referees help Thea Hail to the back. Saints decides to give the fans a gift by kicking 2026 off himself. He says that last year, he really needed NXT, but now, NXT needs him. He says that Oba Femi and Je'Von Evans chose free agency because they cannot compete when they cannot compare, then says there is only room for one star: him. Saints then says that he is not going anywhere, and says that if anyone comes at him, he will send them back to where they came from, as while they are talented, they are not absolute. Saints says that he is who he says he is and that he will continue to prove that in 2026, then says that he will be watching the NXT Championship match closely. He says he will deal with Leon Slater in due time if he wins, but if Oba wins, he wants to win the rubber match.

Ava tells him that the match will become a handicap match quickly, but Joe Hendry says he will find a couple of badasses to back him up. Ava tells Hendry that if he can do that, she will make the match.

"All Ego" Ethan Page is in the ring. Ethan calls himself the most dominant Superstar of 2025 and brags about being Moose last week, then mentions tonight's NXT Championship match and declares himself the main event, not Leon Slater or Oba Femi. He calls the North American Championship the most prestigious championship in all of WWE, as he has defended against many challengers from many companies and brand while Oba Femi has only defended in one part of North America. Ethan brags that this makes him "an international icon," then Jasper Troy shows up and says that Ethan was not the only one who dominated in 2025 and proclaims that he will prove to be "the monster of NXT" in 2026. As he declares that the Speed Championship will not be the only title he holds, Josh Briggs shows up and says he is the biggest big man in NXT, not Jasper. Briggs tells Ethan that he is as delusional as the fans and that he should stop wasting his time with losers, then Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo and Arianna Grace show up. Stacks says that he is the only NXT Superstar holding Total Nonstop Action gold and that he is the International Champion and international as it gets, then says that he and Arianna are as big as it gets before Shiloh Hill shows up. Ethan Page has had enough, then tells Tavion Heights that he dropped the ball. He then ducks a punch meant for him, and Tavion hits Jasper, starting a brawl that ends with Shiloh Hill stopping Arianna from slapping her. When that happens, Shiloh's fake upper tooth falls onto Arianna, then Shiloh tosses Stacks out of the ring when Stacks charges at him.

Both sides have a brief war of words before Sol Ruca makes it clear she wants the NXT Women's Championship.

McIntyre appears on the TitanTron and says Cody is so predictable because he is old-school and traditional and that Cody is "as vanilla as it gets," then says he has come up with the best way to hurt him. McIntyre finally names the Three Stages of Hell's stipulations. The first match will be a straight wrestling match, but in the second match, falls will count anywhere. He then says that if the match goes to a third fall, it will end in an old-fashioned steel cage where two men enter and one champion leaves.
