She says "good riddance" to "Michin" Mia Yim, saying that she will never be champion and that she is surprised she made it to the finals of the tournament, then asks the fans to think not what she can do for them, but what they can do for her. As Chelsea says America will soon be red, white and green, Michin shows up with a shinai in her hands and says that if it were not for Piper Niven, she would have been champion, then introduces Piper and Chelsea to her little friend to give Chelsea the ass whipping she deserves. Piper steps up, but she gets smacked, then swings at Chelsea, who is soon saved by Piper.

Backstage, #DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa) is confronted by General Manager Nick Aldis, The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) and B-Fab. Aldis wants to know who attacked The Street Profits backstage, and brings out two eyewitnesses: Pretty Deadly (Kit Wilson and Elton Prince), who want some money for their musical in exchange for their information. After Aldis threatens to fire them, Pretty Deadly say it was Garza who attacked The Street Profits. The Street Profits Garza and Berto and brawl with them until officials jump in. Braun Strowman returns while carrying Carmelo over his shoulder, drops Carmelo, then overpowers Tama and Jacob on the way to Solo, who he takes out. Jacob then gets back in the ring, teasing a showdown between himself and Strowman, only for Tama to hit Strowman with a chop block. Solo gets back in the ring and hits Strowman with two Samoan Spikes, then Sami gets back in the ring and hits Solo with a takedown only to be overpowered before Jacob hits Sami with a top rope moonsault as officials rush to the ring. Solo then hits Sami with a Samoan Spike after telling Roman Reigns that he is coming for him. Afterwards, Kevin Owens heads to the ring.

After the commercial break, Kevin Owens and General Manager Nick Aldis are in the ring. Aldis demands that Owens do the right thing and return the Winged Eagle championship belt. Owens asks if that is the right thing in his mind, and asks why he should give it back when it is the only bargaining chip that he has for a shot at the Undisputed WWE Championship where the referee cannot rob him of his victory. He says Aldis can have it, but Cody Rhodes has to come and take it. Aldis says this is not a negotiation, and demands Aldis return the title or else he will never set foot in a WWE ring again. Suddenly, "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes heads to the ring. Aldis asks Cody to turn around, walk away, and let him handle this, but Cody says he will not walk away and does not want Owens to hand over the title and make a martyr out of someone who wants to be one. Cody says that Owens throws up sheets of logic and says it all came from him teaming with Roman Reigns, but says it is about what Owens is doing, not what he is saying. Cody then says he has not done what he has done for himself for a very long time, and has done it for people who have put faith in him. Cody says it is his responsibility to take the Winged Eagle championship, not Aldis'. Owens mocks Cody, but Cody tells him to shut up. He says that if Owens wants a match where the referee cannot screw him, then he wants a match where the referee cannot stop what he will do to him. Cody then challenges Owens to a ladder match with both WWE Championship belts up for grabs. Aldis makes the match official for Royal Rumble, and Owens accepts the challenge before offering Cody his hand. Cody does nothing, and Owens shoves Aldis into Cody before stomping the latter in the neck, running away as officials run into the ring and declaring himself the true champion.

Athena then says that she has made her decision, and expels Lexy, not Billie, for her mediocre introduction at Final Battle and nearly costing her the ROH Women's World Championship on that night. Lexy is stripped of all rankings and is expelled permanently. Lexy leaves the ring, then Athena calls Lexy's expulsion a stepping stone for Billie, then says she cares about Billie's future and says it is "just minion and me forever." Interim Executive Vice President Christopher Daniels shows up and tells Hangman he was right and that he does not need someone talking at him, then says that if he needs help, he will be there. Hangman asks why he would want help from "an ineffective office stooge," and Daniels - taking that as a fair swipe - says that his opponents has friends and he doesn't, and while he also does not have any friends in the locker room, he knows Hangman better than he thinks, and if he needs a friend, he will be there.

Raw Deal - Raw recap for December 23, 2024

Drew McIntyre heads to the ring to start tonight's show. McIntyre talks about how he went home because a close family member passed away after his Hell In A Cell match, and mentions that not a single person asked him if he was okay. He also says his brother would not stab in the back for his spot like a lot of the locker room. He also says that he does not believe Sami Zane when he says that Roman Reigns is a changed man, and says he has given so much time only to be told to go screw himself. He says he will give no more for anyone and will start taking. He also says that anyone who sides with Roman Reigns or CM Punk, or has wronged him, should sleep with one eye open before Sami shows up and says that everyone just thought that McIntyre was just recovering from a brutal Hell In A Cell match. Sami says he has gone through everything that McIntyre has had to go through, and that they chose this path and chose to be WWE Superstars. He also says that the fans have a story much like theirs. He says that the fans go through their struggles and losses like they do without pointing the finger, and says that the people made McIntyre and did not forget him. Sami says that just because McIntyre is mad does not make him special and that what he or The Usos (Jimmy and "Main Event" Jey Uso) do have nothing to do with him, but if McIntyre wants to stay angry, nobody will stop him and he will have no problem being McIntyre's problem. McIntyre says his anger comes from a place of pain and wants to know why Sami wants this fight when he has never beaten him and he is not 100%, then suggests that Sami walk back to his family and leave the arena, for he is the least of his worries. Sami admits that McIntyre is right about having his number and that he is not 100%, and while he should rest and recover with his family, he would rather fight McIntyre, and punches McIntyre in the face. McIntyre fights back, and Jey Uso shows up as McIntyre readies the Claymore. Sami and Jey clothesline McIntyre out of the ring following a thrust kick from Jey.

This is after attacking JD McDonagh disguised as Santa Claus in the front row and finding Carlito underneath the ring and beating him up as well. The numbers game takes over, but The War Raiders (Ivar and Erik) show up to even the numbers and save Priest, who tosses McDonagh out of the ring and attacks Finn Balor. Together, they and Priest clean house. Priest then raises The War Raiders' hands.

In footage from this past weekend, Jackie Redmond interviews Seth "Freakin'" Rollins. Rollins says he has tried to explain how he felt about CM Punk many times over the years, saying CM Punk needs WWE and not the other way around, and that it eats away at him and he cannot let it go. He says he has to have this fight with CM Punk after seeing him hand-in-hand with Roman Reigns and becoming viscerally angry, and that he wants the fans as well as CM Punk to see this anger. Rollins says there will be a side to him that nobody has ever seen and that he must "extract this demon from [his] soul" or else he is going down.

Dexter Lumis beats The Miz by disqualification after Akam and Rezar attack him on the outside. After the match, Dexter is surrounded by The Final Testament (Karrion Kross, Scarlett, Akam, Rezar) when the lights go out and the rest of The Wyatt Sicks (Erick Rowan, Joe Gacy, Nikki Cross) show up when they come back on. The Wyatt Sicks clean house in the ring quickly.

The War Raiders (Ivar and Erik) are met by Damian Priest backstage. Ivar admits they have not always seen eye-to-eye, but there is honor between them, and they owed Priest after last week. Priest says that if they go to war with The Judgment Day, he will go to war with them.

The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) suddenly show up and want to know why everyone hates them, and also confront Joe Tessitore for talking about them. Woods says that Wade Barrett is not man enough to lace his boots up like Big E. The New Day then get in the ring, and Kofi says they could have beaten Big E up, but they did not. Woods wants to know why the fans are so upset, and Kofi says tonight was supposed to be a homecoming for him and his mother, who is in the front row. Woods says they gave the fans the ten best years of their lives, but stops speaking as he continues to be booed. Kofi apologizes to his mother, saying she did not come here for this and asks for a hug. Kofi's mother gets up from her seat and gives him the business for what he did to Big E, then refuses to hug him and walks off.

Backstage, The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) are met by Rey Mysterio. Rey says he thought about what Kofi said last week and apologizes, saying he could have handled things differently, and says he has the responsibility to help everyone as much as he can. He says that what they did to Big E was out of pocket, and says they should apologize, but Kofi says they did not do anything wrong, as does Woods. Rey then says "Don't say I didn't try," and tells them they are on their own and to get used to being told that they suck.

Drew McIntyre beats Sami Zayn. After the match, McIntyre continues to attack a downed Sami Zayn, then "Main Event" Jey Uso shows up, runs into the ring and hits McIntyre with a Spear. All of a sudden, he is shoved off the top rope by Tama Tonga, who is joined by Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu. McIntyre leaves the ring as Tama and Jacob attack Jey, but Jey avoids the hip attack by Jacob and superkicks Tama. Solo gets in the ring for a Samoan Spike, but Jey is able to avoid and counter before Jacob downs him. Solo is about to hit Jey with the Samoan Spike, but Sami stops him. Sami is soon overpowered, and Jacob hits him with the top rope moonsault before Solo finally nails Sami with the Samoan Spike. Solo Sikoa's Bloodline (Solo, Tama, Jacob) celebrates to end the show.

Even as Ospreay revives the referee, Ricochet shoves the referee into the ropes to trip Ospreay off the top to hit the Spirit Gun for the pin and the win. Ricochet earns three points and now has the lead with nine points. Will Ospreay still has six points. Before the match, the crowd throws streamers at Ospreay when he makes his entrance, but when Ricochet enters the ring, Ricochet gets a few rolls of toilet paper instead.

We see a video package for Darby Allin vs. Claudio Castagnoli in the Blue League of the Continental Classic later tonight.

Adam Cole heads to the ring. Shortly afterwards, MJF heads to the ring with his own personal security force. MJF admits he is frustrated hearing Cole say he turned on him when, in reality, Cole turned on him, then makes a thinly veiled reference to Cole and Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. no longer being in a relationship. He says that it ate Cole up inside that he was his sidekick while he was AEW World Champion, and that Cole had plenty of opportunities to win the title before he got anywhere near it only to blow it like his ankle. MJF says Cole turned on him out of jealousy and says that Cole looks like "a crack baby." Cole says he refuses to insult MJF while simultaneously mentioning some damning things about him and says he has been far from a failure everywhere he has ever been. He admits he has some regrets and things he could take back, and says it burns MJF that he turned on him first and did it better before saying that MJF is terrified of having anyone near him because it is a weakness for him. This gets MJF to yell at Cole that he was correct, and tells him that he had every intention of stabbing him in the back a year ago, but he got lucky. He admits he did not care about him at first, but eventually, he did start to care a little bit. He says that as soon as he started caring about Cole, he became a liability, and when he jumped off the ramp at Arthur Ashe Stadium and blew his ankle, he became a distraction when it came to staying World Champion. He says that Cole is not "The Devil," instead, he "beat The Devil to it," and this year, he will end Cole's world. Cole punches MJF, and MJF's security moves in. Cole lays all the security guards out, but MJF kicks Cole in the groin. As MJF readies the knockout punch with the Dynamite Diamond Ring, Matt Taven and Mike Bennett slid einto the ring, and MJF flees.

Backstage, Lexy Nair interviews Kris Statlander. Statlander says what she and Willow Nightingale have to discuss is between them, and as for Penelope Ford, they have history, and if she wants a fight, she is here. She says her downward spiral started when she lost the TBS Champion, and now she is righting some wrongs. She mentions that Mercedes Moné does not have an opponent for Worlds End, and tells Mercedes to let her know when she is ready for Round 2.

Backstage, Lexy Nair interviews Orange Cassidy. Cassidy tells "Hangman" Adam Page and "Switchblade" Jay White that Jon Moxley can run and hide between now and Worlds End, but at Worlds End, he will have nowhere to go, and the three of them must remove Moxley from the equation. He says that after that, they can all fight for the AEW World Championship. Orange then says he will see them on Dynamite.

Kris Statlander beats Penelope Ford. After the match, Mercedes Moné shows up and says she was planning on taking Worlds End off, but since it is the holiday season and she feels like being nice, she accepts her challenge, saying that she beat her once and she will beat her again.

The Learning Tree ("The Learning Tree" Chris Jericho, "The Redwood" Big Bill, "The Bad Apple" Bryan Keith) interrupts as The Costco Guys (AJ and Big Justice) hype the crowd up, and when Jericho asks them if they know who he is, Big Justice says Jericho is a jackass. This leads to a "You're a jackass" chants, and Bryan Keith says "dumbass kids should be seen and not heard." Jericho says they have bodegas in New York, not Costcos, that his favorite bodega is a Walgreens in Flushing, and that The Costco Guys' gimmick belongs in the toilet. Jericho also mocks The Acclaimed's ("Platinum" Max Caster and Anthony Bowens) scissoring, and Anthony Bowens shows up and walks past The Learning Tree. Bowens says he knows what Jericho is trying to do and tells Jericho to shut the hell up, and Big Bill says that when a man tries to silence another man, he is probably afraid of the truth. This leads to a "Big Bill" chant. Bowens says he does not know what that means and dares Jericho to get in the ring so he can kick his ass. The Learning Tree teases heading to the ring, but turn around halfway down the ramp. As AJ says that Bowens has the chance to bring the boom, Bowens stops them to lead a scissoring between him and The Costco Guys.

Backstage, Lexy Nair interviews The Vendetta ("The Virtuosa" Deonna Purrazo and Taya Valkyrie). Taya Valkyrie says everyone deserves a slice of them when Toni Storm suddenly shows up and introduces herself to The Vendetta and Lexy Nair. Deonna says she has had enough of Toni and challenges her to a match with Taya, which Toni innocently accepts.

Daniel Garcia beats Shelton Benjamin via pinfall with a jackknife pin in the Blue League of the Continental Classic. Daniel Garcia earns three points and now has seven points. Shelton Benjamin still has six points. After the match, MVP and Bobby Lashley show up to attack Garcia, but Mark Briscoe shows up with security trying to hold him back. All of a sudden, Swerve Strickland attacks The Hurt Syndicate (MVP, Lashley, Shelton) from the top rope. The locker room has to get between Mark Briscoe and MVP as Prince Nana starts a "Swerve's House" chant, and Swerve tells Lashley that he got his hands on him once already and that he will do it again.

Mark Briscoe beats The Beast Mortos via pinfall in the Blue League of the Continental Classic and earns three points. Mark Briscoe now has nine points and now shares the lead in the Blue League. The Beast Mortos still has zero points and is mathematically eliminated.

We hear from Julia Hart, and says that her "tricks" are really advantages. She says she gave Jamie all the hints and that was being more than reasonable. She says she knows Julia is strong, but she wants to know if she is smart. She says she will see Jamie at Fight For The Fallen and that the House always wins.

Backstage, Alex Marvez interviews "The Glamour" Mariah May. Thunder Rosa attacks Mariah from out of nowhere when Mariah talks about Thunder Rosa's father, and chases her to the ring. Security shows up after Rosa punches Mariah and tries to hit her with a metal folding chair.

Claudio Castagnoli beats Darby Allin via pinfall in the Gold League of the Continental Classic after going underneath the ring, sticking brass knuckles in his trunks, and pulling out a metal folding chair for the referee to take away so he can hit Darby with a cheap shot with the brass knuckles. Claudio Castagnoli earns three points and is tied for the lead with Ricochet with nine points. Darby Allin still has six points. After the match, Claudio is about to continue attacking Darby when Will Ospreay makes the save and grabs the brass knuckles that Claudio used. Claudio leaves through the crowd instead to end the show.

Before the next match, Nigel McGuinness answers "Taiga Style" Lee Moriarty's open challenge for the ROH Pure Championship. McGuinness takes the microphone and says that if they are going to do this, they will do this under the old Pure title rules. Shane Taylor says this is "Taiga Style vs. Tired Style" and says that if Moriarty fights him, he will be arrested for elder abuse. McGuinness says he never had Shane Taylor pegged for a coward, and says that his facial hair is no excuse for "talking like a pussy." Shane Taylor says "you are what you eat," and Nigel says this makes Shane Taylor "Lee Moriarty's asshole." Moriarty tells Shane Taylor to let him do the match, and Shane Taylor says that if he wants it, he has it. McGuinness then dismisses the judges at ringside, allowing them to watch the match from the back. With old school rules, closed fist to the face costs the offender a rope break.

"Taiga Style" Lee Moriarty retains the ROH Pure Championship against Nigel McGuinness by submission with the Border City Stretch. During the match, when Lee Moriarty loses his second rope break due to the use of a closed fish, Shane Taylor demands - and gets - a second referee on the outside to watch McGuinness. While this causes Moriarty to get caught cheating from using the ropes for leverage, it also helps save him at the cost of his last rope break. Billie blocks the microphone by kicking it out of Athena's hand before planting her on the mat, and Posey is able to come to and count the near-fall in time. Posey is still down for the most part, and as Billie has Athena on her shoulders, Athena removes a middle turnbuckle before hitting a reverse hurricanrana. Billie charges at Athena, but Athena dodges, causing Billie to hit the exposed turnbuckle and allowing Athena to retain after hitting the O-Face.
