Winter Is Coming - Dynamite recap for December 11, 2024

The Death Riders (Jon Moxley and PAC) beat "Switchblade" Jay White and Orange Cassidy by disqualification after "Hangman" Adam Page charges into the ring and attacks Jon Moxley. After the match, Orange tries to pull Hangman off Moxley, but Hangman shoves him away. Orange tries again, and this leads ot a brawl between the two men. Switchblade then gets in and fights Hangman, but eats an Orange Punch. Hangman gets an Orange Punch soon after, but Switchblade hits Orange with Blade Runner. The Death Riders get back in the ring and attack all three men, then take their leave through the crowd.

We see another vignette for Bandido. This time, we see townspeople in a Western town take cover as Bandido shows up and four men confront him. Bandido lets himself get captured only to fight back.

We hear from The Death Riders (Jon Moxley, PAC, Wheeler Yuta, Claudio Castagnoli, Marina Shafir). Jon Moxley says being a wanted man with a knife to his throat and a dynamite stick about to blow is the only way to live. He says everyone wants the next title shot and that their egos run AEW, then challenges "Switchblade" Jay White, Orange Cassidy and "Hangman" Adam Page to a Fatal 4-Way for the AEW World Championship at Worlds End.

We hear from Christian Cage at the skybox. Christian says that he has a problem with all four men in the just-announced Fatal 4-Way Match, saying two of them cost him the World title, that Orange is "a little pissant who gets on his nerve" and that Moxley has what he wants. He then says that if Moxley survives, he will be waiting on the other side to send him back to rock bottom, making him want to drink and go back to rehab, before declaring he is the next AEW World Champion. As he leaves, he suddenly runs into Hook, who punches through the glass window of a door just to attack Christian in the skybox and put him in Redrum. Kip Sabian and Nick Wayne show up to make the save, but Hook overpowers and outsmarts them and gets out of the skybox.

Will Ospreay beats Claudio Castagnoli in the Gold League of the Continental Classic via pinfall with a sudden jackknife pin. Will Ospreay earns three points and has a grand total of six points. Claudio Castagnoli still has six points. After the match, Claudio attacks Ospreay and hits him with the Neutralizer, but Darby Allin makes the save and chases Claudio away with a baseball bat as soon as Claudio grabs a metal folding chair.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Ricochet. Ricochet says that facing someone like Brody King for the first time ever in the Continental Classic is why he came to AEW, and while Brody King is big and formidable, he is not Ricochet, and tonight, he holds all the cards.

MJF is seen arriving at the arena.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Matt Cardona. Cardona says it is great to be back in AEW, as he belongs here. He says that he is always ready and that he has busted his ass for the last five years to reinvent himself, and now he has his biggest opportunity ever against "The Learning Tree" Chris Jericho. He then says he is not standing around before he challenges "The Bad Apple" Bryan Keith to a match at Rampage, and hopes Jericho is watching as he gets a taste of what will happen at Final Battle.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Kyle O'Reilly. All of a sudden, Matt Taven and Mike Bennett show up. Taven says they do not have to do this, but Mike says they are still family at the end of the day. O'Reilly says they should have thought about that before letting one of their brothers get hurt.

Adam Cole beats Kyle O'Reilly after stopping MJF from interfering in the match and countering an ankle lock with an inside cradle to face MJF at Worlds End. After the match, Adam Cole offers Kyle O'Reilly his hand, but O'Reilly rolls out of the ring.

Backstage, FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) pick up where they left off on last week's Collision where they talk about how Hurricane Helene affected them and how they will be at Fight For The Fallen, then challenges The Death Riders (Jon Moxley, PAC, Wheeler Yuta, Claudio Castagnoli, Marina Shafir) to a match this weekend on Collision following their confrontation and saving Orange Cassidy last week.

We hear from "The Learning Tree" Chris Jericho and "The Bad Apple" Bryan Keith for another "New York Minute." Jericho says that Matt Cardona is not happy after being laid out last week on Rampage, and Bryan Keith says that he will take a bite out of Cardona. Jericho also announces a contract signing tomorrow night on Ring of Honor Wrestling. He then tells Cardona to be careful what he wishes for, as he is delusional if he thinks he will walk out as Ring of Honor World Champion. Bryan Keith says Cardona made a mistake putting his hands on Jericho, and that he will make him pay the price.

In backstage footage from earlier today, Tony Schiavone interviews Darby Allin. Darby says the quest is never over and that The Death Riders are slowly chipping away at what makes AEW what it is. He says that he knows the younger members of the locker room do not want to get involved, but if they do nothing, it will just keep happening. He says that inaction bothers him more than the blood and the violence does. He says that the Continental Classic reminds of what is right in AEW and that he must win the tournament, as it represents AEW and its passion. Darby admits there will be collateral damage along the way, as Jon Moxley says that AEW needs saving when it gave him a second chance. He then says AEW took a chance on him, and that Moxley tells himself lies again and again, stating that nothing damages one more than the lies told to one's self.

Ricochet beats Brody King via pinfall with two Spirit Guns after knocking Brody's head into an exposed turnbuckle to earn three points. Ricochet earns three points, and now has six points. Brody King still has three points.

Backstage, we hear from Private Party (Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy) when Lio Rush and Action Andretti show up wanting the tag team titles. Suddenly, Top Flight (Darius and Dante Martin) and Leila Grey show up saying Lio and Andretti have won zero tag matches, but Lio mentions Darius and Dante being eliminated from the Dynamite Diamond Battle Royal. Isiah Kassidy proposes that Top Flight and the team of Lio and Andretti face each other, with the winner getting a shot at the tag team titles.

We see some footage from the Countdown to All In Texas On Sale.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Anna Jay and Mercedes Moné. Mercedes admits she respects Anna Jay for going to Japan to get better and believing herself, then says that Anna Jay is just getting started while she is a multiple-time world champion. Anna admits she respects what Mercedes has done in the ring and knows she is coming into their match as the underdog, then dares her to underestimate her because she will capitalize on the first mistake she makes in order to become TBS Champion.

"The Glamour" Mariah May retains the AEW Women's World Championship against Mina Shirakawa. Thunder Rosa is seen in the front row with a signing saying "You are not my champ!" After the match, Toni Storm - no longer "Timeless" - shows up for the first time since All In.

Here are the highlights from tonight's show!
