Memphis Thing - Memphis Wrestling recap for December 28, 2024

Dustin Starr interviews Mike Anthony at the announce desk to start today's show. Mike Anthony says he thought he would never see the day that he and the fans would be on the same page, and that he is happy about it. He says he knows that Tim Bosby is the greatest Internet Champion of all time and says that he plans to raise the bar, then says his door is always open before heading to the ring.

Mike Anthony retains the Memphis Wrestling Internet Championship in an open challenge against CJ Blaine.

We see Buff Bagwell return to the WrestleCenter with Big John Dalton.

Dustin Starr interviews Ray Ray Sanders at the announce desk. Ray Ray says he is here because he saw the footage of Sycho Simon attacking Derrick King during his retirement ceremony, then says that he is entering the Grind City Rumble in two weeks not only to win, but to get his hands on Simon.

Buff Bagwell guests on commentary for the next match.

Big John Dalton beats Vashawn Harvey. After the match, Dustin Starr interviews Buff Bagwell and Big John Dalton at the announce desk. Buff says it is time for Big John Dalton to get out of his shadow. Big John Dalton says Buff is the stuff, but Memphis Wrestling is the stuff, at that he is Rumble ready.

Dustin Starr interviews Nixi XS at the announce desk. Nixi insists that she is the real Memphis Wrestling Women's Champion and that she has proven it time and time again. When it is mentioned that C-Rex has done all the work and is nowhere to be seen, Nixi says C-Rex signed a contract and it is not her fault that she did not read the fine print that reads that if C-Rex won, she won. Matchmaker King Cobra shows up and says that one cannot win a title and hand it to somebody else, and makes a Women's Championship Scramble match for the title next week. King Cobra has to force the title out of Nixi's hands, then says that to ensure there are no shenanigans, he is the Women's Champion until the match happens.

Diana Taylor and Makkari Kandy beat Erica Torres and Xya Wolfe.

Backstage, we hear from The Hollywood Clique ("Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock, Ray Collins, Jay Smooth). Blaylock tells Ray Collins and Jay Smooth that they have to work together to win the tag team titles. Ray Collins reluctantly agrees and shake hands with Jay Smooth, who keeps talking over Blaylock.

We see a vignette for The Twins of Salem (Jacksyn Crowley and Abel Booker). Abel Booker is seen holding a flower, and the sunflower is seen to be on fire. The phrases "Walk the path with us" and "Save me" are heard, and Abel Booker is seen catching up with Abel Booker and somebody else, as if someone else is taking Abel away from him.

Dustin Starr interviews Justin Case, "The Chosen One" Zay Washington and Denzel Rollins at the announce desk. Justin Case says it does not matter what anybody thinks, as The Yung GOATs (Washington and "The Problem" Aaron Roberts) are the best tag team, and now they are back together. Zay Washington says things had to change, and that they are dangerous when separate, but unstoppable together. Justin Case then brings out "The Problem" Aaron Roberts, who says that when you play stupid games, you win stupid prizes, and that "The GunShow" Brett Michaels is not on his level anymore. As he calls his new triad "the new wave of Memphis Wrestling" and that The GunShow does not have a foot in the WrestleCenter anymore, The GunShow shows up and says that while he does not have a lot of friend, Aaron Roberts and company have a lot of enemies. After Justin Case says there are three of them and one of GunShow, GunShow says the odds are against him, but he did not come alone. Gio Savage and Tim Bosby suddenly show up and stand with GunShow. Aaron Roberts says they can do it in the ring, and GunShow accepts the challenge.

"The GunShow" Brett Michaels, Tim Bosby and Gio Savage beat The Yung GOATs ("The Problem" Aaron Roberts and "The Chosen One" Zay Washington) and Denzel Rollins in a six-man tag match.
