Those Dynamite Kids - Dynamite recap for October 7, 2020

"The Machine" Brian Cage retains the FTW Championship against Will Hobbs. After the match, Taz gets on the microphone as "Absolute" Ricky Starks joins Cage in the ring. Taz tells Hobbs he is impressive, and while he did not win, he "fought his ass off." Taz then gives Hobbs the option of either joining Team Taz or have Cage and Starks beat him up. Before Hobbs can answer, Darby Allin shows up, and Cage and Starks leave the ring. Taz tells Darby Allin that one day, he will finally learn not to stick his nose in Team Taz's business.

Slash of Guns 'n Roses, Dennis Miller, Hiroshi Tanahashi, Chris Jericho's father Ted Irvine, and Bully Ray congratulate Chris Jericho on thirty years in professional wrestling.

We hear from Lance Archer, who tells Jon Moxley that he has learned a lot since their Texas Death Match in New Japan Pro Wrestling and that Moxley has "no chance in hell" of retaining the AEW World Championship against him.

FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) retain the AEW World Tag Team Championships against TheHybrid2 (Angelico and Jack Evans). After the match, The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jason) superkick a cameraman who has been recording them watching the match from backstage. Suddenly, an edited picture of FTR in hot dog suits is shown on the video screen, then Best Friends (Chuck Taylor and Trent) show up. Trent calls FTR "weenies," and Chuck Taylor says it is no joke that they are #1 contenders to the tag team titles, and that their tag team title match is official for next week as per Tony Khan. FTR go for a cheap shot with the tag team titles, but Best Friends see it coming and fight back before FTR bail out of the ring.

We hear from MJF, who congratulates Chris Jericho on thirty years in professional wrestling as he recollects his first meeting with Jericho, where Jericho says that MJF really had something and to keep studying and take nuances from people he looked up to. MJF then talks about how he pointed at Jericho afterwards and Jericho smiled. MJF says he is proud of and inspired by Jericho.

Shaquille O'Neil, Gene Simmons of Kiss, Don Callis, Lars Ulrich of Metallica and Diamond Dallas Page congratulate Chris Jericho on thirty years in professional wrestling.

Greg "The Hammer" Valentine is in the crowd for the next match.

"The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes beats Brodie Lee in a Dog Collar Match to win the AEW TNT Championship for the second time! After the match, Tony Schiavone interviews Cody - who is joined by the rest of The Nightmare Family - in the ring. Cody says there is no better feeling than performing in front of a live crowd, and that he is sticking with the fans until the very end, as it is his life's work to become a professional wrestler and the fans made it for him. He plans to defend the AEW TNT Championship at next week's anniversary show, and when asked who to defend the title again, Cody notices Orange Cassidy walk onto the stage and give the signature thumbs up. Cody responds with a thumbs up on his own, and a TNT Championship match between Cassidy and Cody is official for next week.

Wardlow, Colt Cabana and "Hangman" Adam Page are announced as participants in the AEW World Championship Tournament.

Backstage, Alex Marvez interviews Kenny Omega. Omega says it feels good to be a singles performer again and that he has been waiting to get his hands on the World title, especially in the tournament. He says that the tournament will be like no other due to who else is in it, and says it will be the premier tournament to watch and the tournament where he wins a shot at the World title. Omega then says it doesn't matter who he faces, as he will soon be AEW World Champion. Throughout the interview, Omega continuously calls "Hangman" Adam Page a "tag team wrestler."

Big Swole beats Serena Deeb.

We hear from Jon Moxley, who says that next week marks one year of Dynamite, but he will not be celebrating due to the constant stream of opponents he has been facing, and he will eventually be beaten for the World Championship. He says that he barely left with his head in his shoulder in his last encounter with Lance Archer, and he knows that when he hands the World title to the referee, he may never touch it again. Moxley says that regardless of who wins next week, he will not lay down for Archer, who will have to take the World title from his dead body.

Next week: Best Friends (Chuck Taylor and Trent) vs. FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) for the AEW World Tag Team Championships! Miro and "Superbad" Kip Sabian in action!

Lance Storm, Kevin Smith, Eli Roth, Gabriel Iglesias, Chavo Guerrero Jr., rock band Steel Panther, Ultimo Dragon, and Paul Stanley of Kiss congratulate Chris Jericho on thirty years in professional wrestling.

The Inner Circle (Chris Jericho and Jake Hager) beat Chaos Project (Luther and Serpentico) despite Luther using Jericho's baseball bat as a weapon. After the match, Jericho thanks the fans for thirty years of support, then MJF and Wardlow arrive. MJF tells Jericho he is not here to step on his toes or steal his spotlight, for he respects Jericho, and he wants to be a part of the celebration. MJF and Wardlow gift Jericho with "Clownico le Clown," who is holding a gift in his hands. Jericho takes the gift, but before he can open, MJF tells Sammy Guevara he will get him his jacket, then tells Jericho that he will make a big announcement and he wants Jericho to be there. Jericho then opens the gift, which is a large picture of MJF. Jericho thanks MJF for the gift, then hits Clownico le Clown with the picture before telling MJF he hates clowns and to never interrupt him again. MJF and Jericho have a laugh, then the rest of the locker room shows up to celebrate with Jericho. The show ends with fake credits where exactly thirty Chris Jerichos are credited for everything from executive producer to catering.
