NXT TakeOver 31: The LIVE Results

Damian Priest retains the NXT North American Championship against Johnny Gargano after countering One Final Beat into The Reckoning in a match that sees Gargano use members of the ring crew as a shield.

KUSHIDA beats Velveteen Dream after keeping the Hoverboard Lock locked in even as Velveteen Dream hits the Dream Valley Driver, forcing Dream to tap out in the center of the ring. Before the match, Velveteen Dream - clearly mocking Doc Brown from Back To The Future - is attacked from out of nowhere by KUSHIDA. After the match, KUSHIDA attacks Dream again and puts him in an arm bar, and referees have to break the hold. KUSHIDA pretends to leave, then runs up to Dream and puts him in another submission hold before leaving for real.

NXT Halloween Havoc - hosted by Shotzi Blackheart - is coming October 28th!

Santos Escobar retains the NXT Cruiserweight Championship against Isaiah "Swerve" Scott, despite help from Ashante "Thee" Adonis in taking out Legado del Fantasma (Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendoza).

Io Shirai retains the NXT Women's Championship against Candice LeRae despite the involvement of Johnny Gargano as the referee is down and Candice LeRae hitting Shirai with the championship. Backstage, Toni Storm appears on the TitanTron and declares that she is back in NXT, and she will turn it upside-down and inside-out as she proves that it will always be "Toni Time." A night vision goggles green-scale vignette of a person on a motorcycle entering the arena from the back door is then shown on the TitanTron, and the woman on the motorcycle reveals herself to be Ember Moon, who has not been seen on WWE programming in over a year.

Backstage, Mackenzie Mitchell interviews Ashante "Thee" Adonis, who says he has respect for Isaiah "Swerve" Scott and that he is tired of seeing Santos Escobar dump guys, then says it is all about him.

Finn Balor retains the NXT Championship against Kyle O'Reilly. After the match, Finn Balor helps Kyle O'Reilly and is about to raise his hand to end the show, but both men notice that Ridge Holland is behind the barricade with Adam Cole over his shoulder. Holland tosses Cole over the barricade, and Roderick Strong and Bobby Fish rush to the ring to check on Cole along with O'Reilly.
