Raw Deal - Raw recap for October 5, 2020

Backstage, Randy Orton admits that he left in an ambulance instead of as WWE Champion, and while he does not remember the ride, he remembers the match, and he saw nothing but complete darkness and felt nothing but excruciating pain. The following night, as McIntyre and the Superstars he has punted celebrated on Raw "with a title he didn't deserve," he felt obligated to give them an equal but opposite reaction in the form of a re-introduction to "The Legend Killer." He wanted to make sure Big Show, Christian, "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels and "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair felt the same pain he felt and the same darkness he saw, and he put on the night vision goggles in order to partake in their agony. Orton then describes in detail what he did to the four men in the Legends' Lounge last week, then says he wishes that he saw McIntyre's reaction, and that he will not stop until he is WWE Champion. He says this is not over until he says it is over, and that McIntyre still has hell to pay. Orton tells McIntyre to tell anyone who will listen that if one wants the legacy of being a WWE Champion, all he has to do is survive one more match against him in Hell In A Cell. Drew McIntyre then barges into the room where Orton is and proceeds to beat him up. Officials have to get involved and restore order, and Randy Orton runs out of the room.

Mandy Rose, Dana Brooke and Asuka beat Zelina Vega, Natalya and Lana. After the match, Nia Jax and Shayna Bazlers show up. Zelina Vega is able to leave, but Natalya and Lana are not, and Nia makes Lana pay for protecting Natalya by putting her through the announce table for a third time.

R-Truth and Little Jimmy practice a WWE mock draft as a janitor mops a floor nearby. A referee shows up, and the janitor swings his mop and hits the referee. R-Truth, thinking it is Randy Orton, dodges but trips over a mop bucket, and the janitor pins him for the 24/7 title. The janitor is not Randy Orton, but Drew Gulak, who runs away with the referee and the 24/7 Championship.

Backstage, Mustafa Ali, Apollo Crews and Ricochet are approached by MVP, who tells them that the WWE Draft can change their careers in an instant, and says that for one night only, he has an opening in The Hurt Business (MVP, Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, Cedric Alexander). He says that regardless of what brand they go to, if they join "The Black and Gold," "business is booming." Apollo and Mustafa leave, but Ricochet looks back at MVP.

Before the next match, Murphy refuses to give Seth Rollins the microphone, and tells him that while he has been an ideal disciple, he wants him to apologize to Aalyah for his actions if he wants him to stay a disciple. Rollins goes of on Murphy, saying that he saved him and that he could have put a lot more out there - such as Aalyah's thoughts on their current situation - but chose not too. Dominik Mysterio and Humberto Carrillo's entrance interrupts them.

Seth Rollins and Murphy - despite being at odds with each other - beat Dominik Mysterio and Humberto Carrillo after Murphy hits Humberto out of the air with a pump knee. After the match, Murphy walks away from Rollins almost immediately.

Backstage, Adam Pearce is met by Braun Strowman and demands an official match. Pearce says he cannot do that, he can give him an unsanctioned match. Braun is happy with this and leaves. Keith Lee then shows up. He simply tells Adam Pearce "Sign me up" and leaves.

Backstage, Murphy is confronted by Seth Rollins, who says that he apologizes for nothing and that everything he does is for the greater good. He demands that Murphy apologize to him and tells him he has until 10 PM to do it, or there will be hell to pay.

It's time for The Kevin Owens Show. Tonight's guest is Bray Wyatt. Owens says that he is usually happy to have a guest on his show, but tonight feels different, as The Fiend truly changes people when he touches them and he can still feel the agony and the dread of The Fiend. He tosses the chairs out of the ring, as tonight will be less about having a nice chat and more about what The Fiend did to him on last week's SmackDown. Owens admits it is hard to find the words to describe how The Fiend's Mandible Claw felt, and how he could not think or move and was just paralyzed. He also mentions that "guys with tortured souls" seem to have a problem with him as of late. Owens then calls out Bray Wyatt, but The Firefly Fun House shows up on the TitanTron. Bray says that Owens is his new friend, and that friends are great. He also says that friends stick together through thick and thin even between brands, then he and his puppets sing a song about friends until Owens tells Bray they are not friends after The Fiend attacked him. Owens then tells Bray to get in the ring right now so that he does not have to wait until Friday to beat the hell out of him. Bray says he does not like bullies, and neither does The Fiend, and that Alexa Bliss' business is between her and The Fiend. Bray tells Owens that he has no idea what he has gotten himself into, but on Friday, he will know, and tells him to consider this a warning, as this is what friends are for. Bray disappears, and Owens says that if Bray will not come to him, he will come to Bray. As he goes up the ramp, he is attacked from behind by Aleister Black, who hits Owens with a Black Mass.

Backstage, Charly Caruso interviews Drew McIntyre. McIntyre says that every time he sees Randy Orton, he will kick the crap out of him, then tells Orton he accepts his challenge at Hell In A Cell, saying that Orton will be trapped in the cell with him and that he is sending him to Hell.

Braun Strowman vs. Keith Lee in an unsanctioned exhibition match quickly ends in a double count-out. After the match, Strowman - angry at the count-out - plows Lee through a ringsie barricade. When Keith Lee gets back on his feet, Strowman and Lee brawl their way up the stage, and Lee sends Strowman into the LED board before sending him through a table on the side of the stage.

We see a vignette for Bianca Belair, who beats everyone in a trivia game.

Backstage, Drew Gulak hides behind a dumpster only to be caught by R-Truth. Gulak runs, but runs into a trash can with Akira Tozawa. R-Truth sends Gulak into the dumpster, and Tozawa dives in with him. All of a sudden, the referee who was with R-Truth makes the count, and it is revealed that R-Truth has won the 24/7 Championship back.

Before the next match, MVP says that Ricochet, Apollo Crews and Mustafa Ali are so talented that he offered them a spot in The Hurt Business, and that The Hurt Business (MVP, Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin) would have won last week if it were not for Retribution (Slapjack, T-BAR, Mace). MVP then warns Retribution that if they want to play tough, they will fold, as The Hurt Business are really what nightmares are made of. Mustafa, Ricochet and Apollo show up. Mustafa says MVP is making excuses about last week's loss, and Ricochet tells MVP that they will pass on a slot in The Hurt Business before telling him he has not run before and will not run now. MVP tells Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin to put some emphasis on Ricochet when they go for a beatdown tonight.

The Hurt Business (Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin) beat Ricochet and Apollo Crews with a Hurt Lock to Apollo.

Seth Rollins shows up. Rollins calls out Murphy, saying that the time has come and that his Messiah awaits his apology. Murphy shows up, but he is reluctant to apologize and Rollins tells him that he does not want to go down this path. As Rollins demands that Murphy apologize, Murphy turns on Rollins and tackles him, booting him out of the ring before fighting him on the announce table. This starts a brawl between Rollins and Murphy, and Murphy gets the upper hand on Rollins even as Rollins pulls a Kendo stick out from underneath the ring. Murphy then strikes Rollins with the Kendo stick, and makes him apologize to Aalyah. Rollins apologizes to Aalyah, and tells Murphy that he has done enough. When Murphy drops the Kendo stick, Rollins then goes for Murphy's eyes and strikes a blinded Murphy with the Kendo stick. Rollins then grabs a steel chair from the timekeeper's area, then returns to the ring only to find Aalyah tending to Murphy. Dominik runs to the ring, and Rey and Angie join him, then Rey and Dominik leave with Aalyah. Backstage, Seth Rollins smiles with glee as Dominik talks to Aalyah.
