Spring Break Thru - Dynamite recap for April 16, 2025

It is announced that Hook has been attacked by The Death Riders (Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, Marina Shafir) before the show, yet Samoa Joe and "The Wrestler" Katsuyori Shibata will still defend the World Trios Championships.

Mercedes Moné beats Athena after countering the Oh Face with a roll-up to advance in the women's Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. After the match, "Timeless" Toni Storm and Luther are seen in the upper seating, and Toni is seen congratulating Mercedes.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews "Hangman" Adam Page when The Elite (Matthew Jackson, Nicholas Jackson, "The Rainmaker" Kazuchika Okada) show up and act like everything is good between them as they mention their business - even offering to take care of The Death Riders (Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, Marina Shafir) - and tell Hangman to bring the AEW World Championship back to them. After Matthew and Nicholas leave, Okada asks Hangman why he is always angry, and tells him to smile. Hangman just walks away, and when Okada calls him a bitch, Hangman returns and stares him down briefly.

Former NHL hockey player Tuukka Rask is seen with the Stanley Cup on the stage.

"Hangman" Adam Page's opponent is revealed to be "The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander.

"Hangman" Adam Page beats "The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander with an unexpected inside cradle to advance in the men's Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. After the match, "The Protostar" Kyle Fletcher and Don Callis show up. Callis watches from ringside as Fletcher eggs Hangman into a brawl. Callis then whispers something into Josh Alexander's ear as Kyle Fletcher gets away. Alexander then gets back in the ring and forearms Hangman in the back of the neck before powerbombing him. Fletcher and Callis get back in the ring as Alexander leaves, and Fletcher hits Hangman with a brainbuster.

Backstage, we hear from The Patriarchy ("The Prodigy" Nick Wayne, Kip Sabian, Mother Wayne). Nick Wayne says that Christian Cage has disappeared and that someone must step up, then Christian Cage suddenly showed up. Nick Wayne says Christian would not be able to live with himself if Copeland became World Champion before he did. Christian says that is not the reason why he cashed in his contract without winning, then mentions that he has been impressed with Nick Wayne as of late and has a gift for him: a spot in the Best of the Super Juniors Tournament in New Japan Pro Wrestling. He says that to get ready, he must face one of the best Super Juniors in Komander and win the ROH World Television Championship on his own.

It is announced that FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) has been suspended for one week without pay following their actions towards Tony Schiavone last week.

Kristaps Porzingis of the Boston Celtics is seen in the crowd before the next match.

MVP guests on commentary for the next match.

The Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin) retain the AEW World Tag Team Championship against Gates of Agony (Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona). After the match, MJF shows up and tells The Hurt Syndicate he brings a lot to the table - and almost gets beaten down by Bobby Lashley for saying he is a slow learner - then brings out a bevy of beautiful women. MJF says that Shelton and Lashley can have a night out with them if he can just get three thumbs up. MVP gives his thumbs up, but Shelton says he needs a little more time, and refers to MJF's Rolex. MJF offers the Rolex in exchange for a thumbs up, but Shelton still gives him the thumbs down. MJF thinks that he is growing on Shelton, and lets him have the watch and the women anyway. He then says that there will be more than that came from when he joins The Hurt Syndicate, then says that he respects Lashley, but says he is known for getting what he wants.

Backstage, Alicia Atout interviews The Hurt Syndicate (MVP, Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin). MVP asks the bevy of beautiful women to give them a moment, then reminds Lashley that he is having a personal reaction to him and to take this as strictly businesss. MVP says they can use MJF to get what they want, and asks Lashley to ease up, promising that he will take care of things the moment he gets out of line. The Hurt Syndicate then leaves with the bevy of beautiful women.

Don Callis guests on commentary for the next match.

Will Ospreay beats "The Alpha" Konosuke Takeshita to advance in the men's Owen Hart Foundation Tournament.

Powerhouse Hobbs replaces Hook before the next match.

The Opps (Samoa Joe and "The Wrestler" Katsuyori Shibata) and Powerhouse Hobbs beat The Death Riders (Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta) to become the AEW World Trios Champions! During the match, Moxley grabs a metal folding chair, but he is disarmed by Willow Nightingale. Shortly after this, The Young Bucks (Nicholas and Matthew Jackson) show up, but Swerve Strickland and Prince Nana show up in the crowd, and Swerve takes down The Young Bucks. Marina Shafir hits Powerhouse Hobbs in the back with a metal folding chair, but it has no effect, and Willow hits Shafir with The Pounce. Jon Moxley goes for the Death Rider on Samoa Joe, but Joe counters with the Coaquina Clutch, and Moxley is out, giving Hobbs and The Opps the win and the titles. After the match, the locker room shows up to celebrate with The Opps and Powerhouse Hobbs to end the show.
