Generation NXT - NXT recap for April 22, 2025

Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez retain the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships against Gigi Dolin and Tatum Paxley.

In backstage footage from earlier today, Lexis King meets with Penn & Teller regarding getting the Heritage Cup back. They do so on the condition that he admits they are magic, that magic is real and that he defends the Heritage Cup Championship. He does, and the Cup re-emerges. As for Lexis King's opponent, Penn says it is a surprise.

We see footage of Charlie Dempsey and Tavion heights at Josh Barnett's Bloodsport XIII.

Backstage, Wren Sinclair and Myles Borne are met by DarkState (Dion Lennox, Cutler James, Saquon Shugars, Osiris Griffin), who say that No Quarter Catch Crew (Charlie Demspey, Tavion Heights, Myles Borne, Wren Sinclair) should split up for their own good. Myles Borne would rather fight them, and when Je'Von Evans shows up wanting a fight, Myles challenges them to a tag team match.

Ricky Saints heads to the ring. Saints says he kicked WrestleMania weekend off with a bang retaining the North American title against "All Ego" Ethan Page, who he admits will always be a thorn in his side. Saints says he has made good on his promise and that everything he said has become reality, then Lexis King shows up. Lexis King mentions how his weekend went with a disappearing Heritage Cup Championship before stating he is defending the cup and tells Ricky to get out of the ring before he goes after his title. Starks tells Lexis that his mouth is writing checks he cannot cash, but Lexis says Starks has a gullible audience captive and tells him to not only defend his title, but also wrestle him for the Heritage Cup. Starks loves the idea of this and accepts, and officials have to stand between them.

In backstage from earlier today, Sol Ruca, Zaria, Hank Walker and Tank Walker are met by Thea Hail, who wants to do another ladder match when Jaida Parker, Kelani Jordan and The Fatal Influence all show up to rain on Thea Hail's parade.

Noam Dar is Lexis King's mystery opponent.

Noam Dar beats Lexis King with a back elbow to become the NXT Heritage Cup Champion for the fourth time!

Backstage, Sarah Schreiber interviews Roxanne Perez, who says that Stand & Deliver was supposed to be her moment and that she ruined the moment that she deserved, and admits that it felt good. She says that if Stephanie Vaquer has a problem with it, then she will do something about it, but she will not, because she is not at 100%. She says that unlike Vaquer, she is "The Prodigy," and she will walk out a three-time NXT Women's Champion.

Thea Hail beats Fallon Henley by submission with the Kimura Lock after Jacy Jayne inadvertently kicks Fallon Henley in the arm on the outside.

Oba Femi heads to the ring. Oba says he did what he said he would do at Stand & Deliver and retained the NXT Championship, and admits that Je'Von Evans is a lot better than he thought he was. He says Je'Von's time has not yet come, but his best years are ahead of him. He says he has no love for Trick Williams, yet as great as Trick is, he is that much better. Trick shows up and says Oba only won because he pinned Je'Von, and says that he wants his one-on-one rematch. Trick says he is tired of running the play and having other people butt in, then Joe Hendry suddenly shows up. Hendry says that Trick is not the same person that he tag teamed with back in the fall and that Trick has changed from soaking in the fans' cheers to soaking in self-pity. He says he is proof of what happens when you listen to the fans, then tells Trick is entitled and not hungry and that Trick Williams only lost because he is "a whiny bitch." Trick tells Hendry he had his five minutes, and that Hendry is an outsider who does not belong here and got his ass whupped before telling him to go back to TNA. Hendry says he was in the ring at WrestleMania while Trick was in the stands, then says he has business to discuss with Oba Femi. Oba warns Hendry not to make the same mistake that Moose made. Trick stands between Hendry and Oba, who proceed to beat Trick up and throw him out of the ring.

Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo meets with Luca Crusifino in the desert. Crusifino wants answers and wants Stacks to make things right, but Stacks tells Crusifino he knows why he invited him here. After a few seconds, Crusifino says "Oh, fuck."

Backstage, Sarah Schreiber interviews Sol Ruca and Zaria. Sol Ruca admits her opponents were tough, then Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez shows up and makes fun of Zaria for not having a championship, and Sol Ruca says she can see through them and to move on before she adds a third title to her collection.

Backstage, General Manager Ava has to get control of an angry Trick Williams as the camera cuts out.

DarkState (Dion Lennox and Osiris Griffin) beat Je'Von Evans and Myles Borne. During the match, it is announced that Trick Williams has been told to leave the building.

Backstage, Shawn Spears leaves after meeting with General Manager Ava, then Yoshiki Inamura. Inamura thanks Ava for the opportunity, as his time in NXT is coming to an end and he is heading back to Japan. As he gets choked up about almost becoming tag team champions, Josh Briggs shows up. Ava gives them another opportunity at the tag team titles, and after Ava leaves, we find out that Inamura was pulling on Ava's heartstrings on purpose.

Tony D'Angelo meets with Adrianna Rizzo in a hotel room, and Adrianna lets him in when D'Angelo confirms he has appeared alone. Neither of them can still believe what Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo did after all they have been through, but D'Angelo says people change and that he does not trust Stacks. It is also mentioned that Luca Crusifino has not been seen for a few hours. He says they cannot stand for rats and betrayal, and that Stacks has declared war and that he does not know what he is going to do. D'Angelo asks Adrianna to hide in a safe house until things blow over, and assures her everything will be all right.

Backstage, Sarah Schreiber interviews Ricky Saints, who says that he is glad to challenge Noam Dar for the Heritage Cup Championship and defend the North American Championship. "All Ego" Ethan Page then shows up, and Sarah Schreiber leaves before Lexis King suddenly attacks Saints and threatens to take his title.

It is revealed that Andre Chase is reviving Chase University.

Stephanie Vaquer retains the NXT Women's Championship against Roxanne Perez. After the match, Giulia shows up and stares Vaquer down from the top of the ramp. Meanwhile, Jordynne Grace is seen watching from a balcony.
