Quake By The Lake - Rampage recap for August 12, 2022

Tony Schiavone interviews "The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson in the ring to start tonight's show. Danielson says he has been wrestling for nearly 23 years and does not know if he will ever be one hundred percent, but he needs to "live one hundred percent" and nothing makes him feel more alive than being in the ring. He says that he will never willfully stop wrestling, and if Daniel Garcia says that he wants to slay his career, he will have to end it, but he will not end it this Wednesday. Daniel Garcia shows up and says Bryan Danielson is his hero, but it sounds like his hero is prepared to lose and is coming up with excuses. He says that his coming and going hurts him, which makes him want to hurt Danielson. He says that he will hurt Danielson so badly that he will end his career, and instead of "The Dragon Slayer," he will be "the greatest technical sports entertainer on the planet." Danielson says he is okay with people trying to end his career, as violence begets violence, but "sports entertainment bullshit" pisses him off. He says that he mentioned Garcia when he started Blackpool Combat Club because of the potential that he saw in him. He then asks Daniel Garcia if he wants to be "the greatest technical sports entertainer on the planet" or "the best technical wrestler on the planet," then leaves the answer up to him before leaving.

Sammy Guevara and Tay Conti - the latter now going by the name Tay Melo - retain the AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championships against Dante Martin and Skye Blue.

We see a video package chronicling the feud between The Lucha Brothers (Penta Oscuro and Rey Fenix) and La Faccion Ingobernables (Andrade el Idolo and Rush). Next week, PAC will return, and The Death Triangle will fight for the AEW World Trios Championships.

Parker Boudreaux quickly beats Sonny Kiss.

La Faccion Ingobernables (Andrade el Idolo, Rush, Jose the Assistant) meet with Private Party (Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy), The Butcher and The Blade. Andrade says they will win the World Trios Championships. After Andrade and Jose the Assistant insult Private Party for losing last week, Isiah Kassidy threatens to beat them up next week.

The Gunn Club (Austin and Colten Gunn) beat Beardhausen (Danhausen and Erick Redbeard) after Billy Gunn pulls the top rope down from the outside to trip up Erick Redbeard. After the match, Billy Gunn shows his disappointment in his sons and says they need to toughen up, as they are not doing what he has taught them, then tells them they have another match to prove themselves on next week's Dynamite. As Austin and Colten head to the back, Stokely Hathaway offers his business card from the front row.

Backstage, Lexi Nair interviews Swerve In Our Glory (Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland). Keith Lee says he has dismantled both members of Private Party (Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy) individually and says they have no chance in a tag team match. Swerve Strickland says Private Party are not even in the top five, and that they will make quick work of Private Party.

Tony Schiavone interviews Hook in the ring. Hook says the FTW Championship has always been an open challenge, then "The Reality" Zack Clayton suddenly shows up, introduces himself, and says he will take the FTW Championship from him and take it to New Jersey where it belongs. He then says he would face Hook right now, but he has a new pair of boots in the back that are not ready yet and things are done on his time. Clayton then challenges Hook for the FTW title next Friday. Hook accepts.

Mark Henry interviews Best Friends (Chuck Taylor, Trent Beretta, Orange Cassidy) and The Trust Busters (Ari Daivari, Slim J, Parker Boudreaux). Ari Daivari says Orange Cassidy is one of the most talented wrestlers on the roster, and if Orange does not want to join them, he will beat his ass in "a dump of his old hometown."

Before the next match, Ari Daivari gives Orange Cassidy one last chance to join The Trust Busters (Ari Daivari, Slim J, Parker Boudreaux), and that all he has to do is lay down so they can all leave town. Orange lays down, then rolls away when Ari tries to pin him.

Orange Cassidy beats Ari Daivari. After the match, Slim J attacks Orange Cassidy from behind, but Chuck Taylor and Trent Beretta take him out. Parker Boudreaux then gets in the ring and lays Taylor and Beretta out. Sonny Kiss shows up and stands alongside Orange Cassidy only to kick him in the groin, then Parker Boudreaux plants Casiddy in the mat. Sonny then stands alongside the rest of The Trust Busters to end the show.
