Generation NXT UK - NXT UK recap for August 18, 2022

Joe Coffey beats Mark Andrews to advance in the NXT UK Championship Tournament. (The match is noted on commentary to be a rematch of the first ever match on NXT UK.)

In backstage footage from earlier today, Joe Coffey says he is feeling manic in his first match back and that he will be the last man standing in the NXT UK Championship Tournament.

Amale beats Nina Samuels.

In UK Performance Center footage from earlier this week, Oliver Carter is interrupted by Trent Seven, who makes a big deal out of Oliver Carter's bum knee and tells him to give him the bye straight to the finals, but Oliver Carter reminds him that he and Ashton Carter made him and Tyler Bate ex-champions. Trent Seven says this was a pivotal moment in his career and that everyone gets to see "the real Trent Seven," and that "the real Trent Seven" is going to break his leg.

We hear from Ilja Dragunov, who says that he impressed and inspired by how everyone in the NXT UK Championship Tournament is willing to give everything they have for the title, and that he is curious to know who will take his place as champion. He tells whoever wins the title to sleep well and fight hard, for he will throw his entire existance in front of them in a way that it has never been seen before.

Andre Chase and Bodhi Hayward beat Eddie Dennis and Saxon Huxley after Huxley walks out on Eddie Dennis when both of them argue. After the match, Saxon Huxley confronts Eddie Dennis and hits him with achoke bomb before celebrating with Bodhi Hayward and shaking hands with Andre Chase.

We see a video package for Noam Dar vs. Mark Coffey for the NXT UK Heritage Cup Championship next week.

Next week: Trent Seven vs. Oliver Carter in the semi-finals of the NXT UK Championship Tournament! Joe Coffey vs. Kenny Williams or Tyler Bate in the semi-finals of the NXT UK Championship Tournament!

Tyler Bate beats Kenny Williams to advance in the NXT UK Championship Tournament and face Joe Coffey in the semi-finals. (This is not surprising, considering that it was spoiled during Heatwave that Tyler Bate won the tournament.)
