Final Impact - Impact Wrestling recap for August 18, 2022

"The Quintessential Diva" Gisele Shaw beats Rosemary in the BTI Match.

Black Taurus beats Laredo Kid, Rey Horus and Trey Miguel in a four-way match.

Backstage, Johnny Swinger and Zicky Dice are watching Killer Kelly's debut backstage when Tasha Steelz and Savanah Evans show up and take offense to everyone paying attention to Killer Kelly. As Tasha Steelz tells Zicky Dice exactly who she is, Killer Kelly shows up, and Tasha tells Kelly that she keeps an eye on the division. Killey Kelly tells Tasha Steelz not to take anything personally and that this is a game to her. Kelly says that if Tasha is keeping an eye on her, she will keep an eye on Tasha. Savannah gets between Kelly and Tasha, and Kelly tells her that if she wants to be in the way, she can remove her, and she can do it either in the ring or backstage.

Backstage, Rich Swann talks with "The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander. Josh Alexander says he will face whoever wins tonight's six-way #1 contender's match, but he would like to face Swann after what he has done as World Champion. He tells Swann that if he wins, he will be in for the fight of his life. As Swann says that he would not want it any other way, Vincent shows up and says Impact is working Josh Alexander like a race horse until he drops and loses the World title. He also says that Eddie Edwards will be the next #1 contender, and while Josh Alexander has been successful, his luck will run out, and he is going to need a friend eventually.

Heath beats Kenny King despite Vincent's attempted interference. After the match, the rest of Honor No more shows up and surrounds the ring. Heath tries to fend them off, but he is easily outnumbered. Eddie Edwards has PCO finish Heath off, but that gives Heath enough of a breather to hit Mike Bennett with the Wake-Up Call and flee through the crowd.

Backstage, Chris Sabin, Alex Shelley and KUSHIDA meet. Sabin admits Emergence did not go their way, but next week, all three of them will face Violent By Design (Eric Young, Deaner, Joe Doering). Alex Shelley asks KUSHIDA what she wanted to do when he came to Impact, then says that KUSHIDA is the hottest free agent in pro wrestling and Sabin is one of the greatest tag team wrestlers of all time. He calls their threesome "Time Machine," and considers themselves three bodies with one mind, and says that Violent By Design will find this out first-hand.

Backstage, Honor No More regroup. Eddie Edwards says this should be a time for celebration, then wonders how Heath was still able to get the better of them. Matt Taven and Mike Bennett meet with Scott D'Amore and asks when their title shot will be now that Doc Gallows is injured, and D'Amore says that Gallows will have to heal up before the match can happen. Maria Kanellis-Bennett, not wanting to wait and wanting an advantage, demands that their tag team title shot be a two-on-one handicap match if need be, and Scott D'Amore makes a match between Bennett and "Machine Gun" Karl Anderson for next week. If Karl Anderson wins, Maria is banned from ringside in the tag team title match.

Killer Kelly beats Savannah Evans with the Killer Clutch.

Backstage, Rosemary, Taya Valkyrie and Jessicka meet. Rosemary says they will make do with what they have as they regroup, retrain Jessicka and regain the tag team titles when the time is right. Jessicka mentions that she has gotten her debut match next week. Rosemary is alarmed, then tells Taya to keep Jessicka focused, and tells Jessicka to just listen to her in the meantime.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviews Jordynne Grace. Jordynne says she did not win the Knockouts Championship to hide from the competition, but to be a fighting champion. As for Mia Yim, she has all of her respect after giving her a hard-hitting match, then VXT ("The Virtuosa" Deonna Purrazzo and Chelsea Green) show up. Deonna says nobody likes Jordynne and that Jordynne is the least liked person here, and Chelsea says they won the Knockouts Tag Team Championships on the first try. As Jordynne threatens to take them both on alone, Mia Yim shows up to have her back and challenge for the Knockouts tag titles. As Jordynne threatens to take them both on alone, Mia Yim shows up to have her back and challenge for the Knockouts tag titles. Deonna says "Fine," then VXT leave.

"Speedball" Mike Bailey retains the Impact Wrestling X Division Championship against Chris Bey.

The Impact Plus Flashback Moment of the Week is Ace Austin vs. Christian Cage from Victory Road 2021.

Backstage, Bhupinder Gujjar confronts Brian Myers, and tells him he has pissed him off and that it is far from over when Gujjar shoves Myers and blocks his attempts to fight back.

Eddie Edwards beats Sami Callihan, Moose, Steven Maclin, Bandido and Rich Swann in a six-way #1 Contender's Elimination Match for the Impact World Championship. Maclin eliminates Moose with a schoolkid pin after Moose eliminates Sami Callihan, and Maclin and Moose almost come to blows. Sami beats both of them up, then grabs Moose and takes him to the back. Honor No More celebrates with Eddie Edwards after the match.
