Final Impact - Impact Wrestling recap for May 19, 2022

Crazzy Steve beats "Outlandish" Zicky Dice in the BTI match with a top rope DDT after biting Zicky Dice's forehead.

"Speedball" Mike Bailey beats Laredo Kid following a series of pinfall attempts to qualify for the Ultimate X Match for the Impact X Division Championship.

We hear from "Inevitable" Ace Austin, who congratulates Speedball on qualifying for the X Division Championship Match, then tells him that he had the chance to stand on the right side of history and blew it. He says that he is the only one who writes history here, and while he is here, Speedball will only be second place. Meanwhile, he is in Japan for the Best of the Super Juniors, but he is paying attention to what is happening in Impact. Ace says that after a successful tour of Japan, he will come back and win the Ultimate X match.

We hear from Matt Cardona and Chelsea Green on the beach in The Maldives. Matt Cardona says they are on their honeymoon, as he laughs about living in Rich Swann's head rent-free before declaring him unworthy of a Digital Media title shot, and Chelsea says she will be watching the rest of the Knockouts duke it out in tonight's six-Knockout tag team match as she soon becomes a two-time Knockouts Champion.

Jordynne Grace, Taya Valkyrie and Mia Yim beat "The Virtuosa" Deonna Purrazzo, Tasha Steelz and Savannah Evans in a six-Knockouts tag team match.

It's time for Locker Room Talk. Johnny Swinger shows up with Zicky Dice on the cart from last week's gauntlet match and invites Madison Rayne to Swinger's Dungeon, then Havok and Rosemary show up. Rosemary and Havok remind Madison and Tenille Dashwood that they have yet to beat them, but Tenille Dashwood reminds them that they lost. After Zicky Dice confuses Havok for someone else and gets shoved into Swinger, Havoc and Rosemary teleport out. Swinger and Zicky leave, then the segment ends.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviews Chris Sabin. Sabin says he was this close to challenging "The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander, but it did not happen. He then throws out a challenge against one of his earliest rivals in a "battle of the futures" and says the future is now. He then challenges Frankie Kazarian to a match next week.

The Impact Plus Flashback Moment of the Week is a match between Chris Sabin and Frankie Kazarian from June 25, 2003.

We hear from Eric Young, who talks about how he got into wrestling by watching Ricky Steamboat vs. Randy Savage at WrestleMania 3, his time in TNA and Impact as well as his brief run in WWE before stating that what you see now is "the real Eric Young" and what he was meant to be.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviews "The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander. He says that while he does not respect everything Eric Young says, he does recognize what Eric Young has done. He then asks who will usher in the next twenty years: him or Eric Young. Alexander then tells Eric Young he will have to bring the fight of his life if he wants to take the World title from him at Slammiversary.

Maria Kanellis-Bennett guests on commentary for the next match.

The Good Brothers ("The Big LG" Doc Gallows and "Machine Gun" Karl Anderson) beat Honor No More (Matt Taven and Mike Bennett) when Maria Kanellis-Bennett's distraction backfires and Bennett inadvertently hits Maria with a Spear meant for Anderson.

We hear from Sami Callihan, who says that he respects Moose for breaking his leg, as he would have done the same thing to him. He then says he is angry about the time Moose took from him and the isolation that followed. In that time, he has thought about what he could do to Moose, then says he will make his life a living hell every time he steps into the arena.

Masha Slamovich quickly beats Shawna Reed. After the match, Havok shows up and has a staredown with Masha Slamovich.

Backstage, we hear from Raj Singh and Shera. Raj Singh says that Bhupinder Gujjar is being selfish, and that the bulls-eye is on his back and that they are coming for him. Gujjar shows up and says that they can settle things in the ring. Raj Singh calls this challenge laughable and disrespectful and that Shera can tear him apart, then W. Morrissey shows up. Raj Singh says Gujjar has a big friend, but he has a lion. Shera then says "Next week," before he and Raj Singh leave. Gujjar says he wants to do this on his own, but W. Morrissey says there is no shame in accepting help when it is offered. Gujjar says "Let's do it," then he and Morrissey shake hands.

The Briscoes (Jay and Mark Briscoe) retain Violent By Design (). After the match, Eric Young, Deaner and Doering attack The Briscoes, then Josh Alexander shows up and fends Deaner and Doering off before staring down Eric Young in the middle of the ring. Deaner attacks Alexander from behind, then The Briscoes get back in the ring to even the odds and clean house to end the show.
